Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Four Years Later

Four years later, at the peak of summer's noon, the name "Sheng Han Group" stood towering on the skyscraper, adorned with a blinding brilliance under the sun.

Beneath the building, in the circular open space behind a large stone pillar, a little girl was holding a little boy's hand, her voice milky as she asked, "Su Bao, will we get scolded for sneaking out to find Daddy?"

"Quiet. Remember what I told you! You can't reveal who you are later! Otherwise, I won't bring you here again." The little boy said sternly.

The girl huffed, about to speak, when the boy pointed towards the glass doors nearby and said, "That man walking in the front over there, go quickly."

A line of men in black suits emerged from behind the glass door, the leader clad in a well-fitted suit, exuding an imposing aura, his delicate features drawing attention easily. It was clear that he paid great attention to detail, from his meticulously chosen attire down to the intricate cufflinks, perfectly flawless.

This man, who seemed to exist in a dream, was a legend of Mai City. He started his business at sixteen, founded Sheng Han at twenty, and rose to global prominence within five years. Today, Sheng Han's enterprises span numerous sectors and dominate the field. And he was the master of Sheng Han—Shen Hanxiu.

The bespectacled man by his side briefed him on the schedule: "President Shen, this is the information you'll need shortly. Please have a look."

Shen Hanxiu reached out to take the document, and out of the corner of his eye saw a little pink bundle flit towards him, stumbling over his steps...

Shen Hanxiu stopped in his tracks and looked down at the charming little creature at his feet. His entourage also halted, their gazes fixed on the little girl who had fallen against Shen Hanxiu's shoes, who looked to be around three years old.

In the hushed surroundings, the little girl burst into tears with a "wah" and stood up, clinging to Shen Hanxiu's leg.

She cried with her tear-stained face, opening her small arms as if to ask Shen Hanxiu to hold her, yet he made no move. Instead, he frowned at her familiar little face, which closely resembled that of his wife who had disappeared four years ago, even their little tricks were nearly identical. Suppressing the surprise and suspicion in his heart, he continued to stare at the girl.

Seeing the handsome uncle remaining so aloof, the little girl immediately opened the floodgates of her eyes, tears streaming down: "Uncle, I fell... it hurts..."

Amid the puzzled looks of the men in suits, Shen Hanxiu squatted down to look at the little girl, his eyebrows knitted together as he asked, "Who's your Mom?"

The little girl paused, then actively wrapped her hands tightly around his neck, her legs entwining his body, forcing him to carry her. As her cries gradually subsided, her eyes darted around, thinking she couldn't betray her Mom. If she told the truth, Su Bao would never bring her to see Daddy again. So, pretending to be a stranger, she decided to keep close to her father and started crying again, "Wuu... my head hurts!"

Shen Hanxiu lifted the girl up, his expression still serious as he cut to the chase, "What's your name?"

"Su..." As the word came out, she felt something was wrong, quickly changed her mind and said, "Uncle, my name is Zhenzhen."

Children tend to lisp, and Shen Hanxiu didn't notice anything amiss. Just as he was about to ask further, the bespectacled man reminded him, "President Shen, the representatives from the United States have arrived."

Shen Hanxiu gave the girl a few more glances before bending down to put her back on the ground.

Seeing him about to leave, Su Zhen quickly stretched out her little hand to the back of his head, grabbing a few strands of hair, causing Shen Hanxiu to feel a tingle on his scalp as he stood up, then saw in her hand a few short black hairs.

The business car was already approaching; Shen Hanxiu turned and boarded the vehicle.

In the rearview mirror, he saw the little pink bundle running to the side of a little boy, the two whispering to each other.

A second before the car started, Shen Hanxiu spoke coldly, "Ah Chen, follow those two children."

The bespectacled man hesitated for a moment, then, meeting Shen Hanxiu's gaze, he handed over his files to someone beside him and stepped out of the car.

Shen Hanxiu, deep in thought, gazed at the mirror's reflection of the two kids and the familiar appearance they shared with that woman. This strange encounter, along with the few strands of hair, all seemed quite suspicious to Shen Hanxiu.

Four years, Su Nian, could it really be you?
