Yang Fan turned around and gave Yang Huiru a reassuring look. He had just taken a step forward when he stopped, his sharp hearing had picked up footsteps descending the stairs.
Carefully, he turned back and returned to the room.

Suddenly, there was a loud bang as the door flew open, followed immediately by a flying hand grenade.
Without a moment's hesitation, realizing there was no time to kick the grenade back, as it might explode upon touch, Yang Fan threw the Iron Nails in his hand, hitting the grenade in mid-air. With a thunderous explosion, the grenade detonated. Yang Fan quickly dove forward, throwing himself next to Yang Huiru to shield the now speechless woman.
"Play dead!" Yang Fan whispered urgently, covering her mouth.
