MIA'S POV
I had spent about two hours in the limo with Vincenzo, finally the car began to slow down and pulled into a magnificent gate. At this point my nose was glued to the window as I watched the castle-like building emerge from the distance the closer we got to the house, once the car stopped in front of the entrance right next to the fountain, Vincenzo stepped out of the limo and looked at me expectantly but I didn't come out, he then stretches his arm out for me to take but I just stared up at him hesitation clearly written all over my expression. "Come on Mia, don't you wanna explore your new home I promise you'll love it" he tries to reassure me. Home, that word triggers something in me, I haven't had a home in a while so hearing Vincenzo call this my home made me feel all warm on the inside so I placed my really tiny hands into his palm and then he helped me out of the car. I stared up at the massive building, it intimidated me and Vincenzo notices this so he tries to reassure me. "Come on piccolina there's nothing to be scared of, this is gonna be your new home and you're gonna love it okay?" I look up at him and smile a little, I seem to be looking up at him a lot, I mean the man is a freaking giant. "So are you ready?" Vincenzo asks, I nod enthusiastically my smile getting bigger. My expression causes Vincenzo to laugh, and then we begin our assent up the stairs of the mansion until we got to the grand doors which were opened by an elderly man who seems to be in his late 60's.
"Bentornato, Capo!" (Welcome Capo!) the elderly man greets Vincenzo in a language I don't understand but I think it's Italian which explains Vincenzo's accent.
"E chi potrebbe essere questo bellissimo angelo?" (And who might this beautiful angel be?) Gerald turned towards Me and asks but I just looked at him like he has grown horns. "Gerald, questa è Mia e non parla italiano." (Gerald this is Mia and she doesn't speak Italian) Vincenzo tells Gerald "Oh my, I'm so sorry little angel I'm so used to all these Italians that I forget not everyone is Italian" Gerald says sheepishly, this causes me to giggle at his embarrassed state. "It's okay, well I am Mia and it's nice to meet you" I say as cutely as possible "It's nice to meet you too bellissimo" (beautiful).
"Well since the pleasantries are over, Mia would you like to meet your new family?" at the mention of the main reason why we're here I became a giant ball of nervousness as I started becoming scared of how it'll go. "Mia, Mia, Mia....." "Huh!!" I was suddenly snapped out of my thoughts, it was then that I realized that I had zoned out, this causes Vincenzo to be worried. "Hey hey Mia look at me, everything's going to be fine, everyone's going to love you I promise" he tries to reassure me and it works, I take in a deep breath and breathe out "Alright I'm ready to meet your family" I say with much more determination than before, this causes Vincenzo to smile. "Excellent piccolina, now let's go. Gerald, please inform my family of my arrival and ask them to come to the living room" Vincenzo say's "Yes Capo" and then Gerald leaves them to go get the rest of the family. "Alright Mia let's go to the living room okay?" "Okay!" I say cheerfully.
On our way to the living room, I couldn't help but admire the magnificent structure in front of me with my mouth hung wide open. There was a grand staircase leading to the other rooms, the tiles were all marble and sparkling clean I could even see my reflection on the tiles, literally!! and then the whole place just seemed magical, from the diamond chandelier to the lightings to the gold painted walls to the beautiful art on the wall, it was definitely a fairytale to me. "Again picollina, close your mouth" Vincenzo say's with amusement laced in his voice. I immediately shut my mouth with my cheeks turning a light shade of red showing my embarrassment, this just causes Vincenzo to chuckle. They arrived in the living room and it was just as magnificent with the floor to ceiling windows and really huge tv in the living room, I haven't even watched tv in a really long time except you count the occasional commercials I see through store windows. Sounds of footsteps approaching the living room were heard signaling Vincenzo's family's arrival, I could feel my nerves building up but I forced myself to remain calm. "Enzo caro, mi sei mancato così tanto." (Enzo darling, I've missed you so much) a really gorgeous woman with caramel coloured hair and brown eyes with little flecks of gold in it ran up to Vincenzo and wrapped herself around him and I mean literally cause her arms and legs were around Vincenzo, holding him like he was her lifeline, she didn't stop there the next thing I saw was them in a heated kiss until a boy who looks to be 13 walked in on them and stopped the whole thing. "Mom, dad please don't scar my childhood for me go to your room!!!" the boy exclaimed. "Oh Dante when you fall in love, you'll understand why it's difficult for us to get enough of each other" the woman who I assume is their mother says. "Oh please mom, I'm not gonna fall in love, I'm too cool for that besides I don't do love and fairytale, isn't that right Gabriel?" the boy who I just learnt his name is Dante asked an older boy who just walked in, a very attractive and intimidating boy I might add. He's giving off this Mr tall, dark and mysterious vibe cause he really is tall, tanned, dark haired
, has green enchanting eyes and a really sharp jawline that could cut a damn diamond, I mean basically he was specially crafted by a Greek god. "Dante, shut up so you don't spread your stupidity to everyone" Gabriel says. "Heyyy!! I'm not stupid" says Dante. "Sure you're not" Gabriel says with so much sarcasm.
"Okay okay everyone, let's get down to the main reason why I called you all, this beautiful little angel over here is Mia" Vincenzo draws everyone's attention towards me while I stand there feeling extremely awkward.
Gabriel scoffs, "Um dad, since when do we house street rats?". Did he just call me a street rat, okay scratch what I said about him being handsome he's a beast.
"Gabrielle" Vincenzo say's in a warning voice.
"Oh be nice Gabriel, you're being so much of a meanie to her" Dante says. "Hello I'm Dante and that brooding bully over there is my brother Gabriel and this beautiful woman is my mother Esmeralda" Dante says with an amused expression on his face, it's quite obvious that he's trying to lighten the mood, I instantly like him. "Hi I'm Mia, it's nice to meet you Dante and it's nice to meet you Mrs Vincenzo" I replied. "Oh please call me Esme little one, and it's nice to meet you too" Esme says and I already like her.
"Mia over here is going to be moving in with us and will become a new member of our family" Vincenzo tells his family the heavy news which causes everyone to pause and absorb the news. "So does that mean I have a sister now, yessssssss!! now there's someone else I can have fun with other than Mr Grumpy over here." Dante exclaims excitedly
, which causes me to smile.
"Moving in ? father this..this.. Questa feccia(this trash) can't live in our home. I mean it's just too good for her." Gabriel says more hurtful words to humiliate me, I'm trying my best to hold my tears in.
"That's enough Gabriel, Mia is under my protection and you will give her the respect that you will give to any other member of this family and you will not defy my order, have I made myself clear!!" Vincenzo shuts Gabriel up.
I'm really grateful for what Vincenzo is doing for me so I'm going to make sure that he doesn't regret his decision and prove myself worthy of being a member of this family.
