Chapter 1 - Revival

It was the end of December. The night life of Mumbai was bustling, as for many it was their time to be active, much suitable for the title,"the dream city".

In the second floor of a government hospital in central mumbai, in one of the general wards, lay a young girl in the last bed, beside the window, wearing a hospital gown. Though the hospital was unbothered with the worldly hustle and bustle of the city centre, the young girl was clearly having difficulty in her sleep.

The pitter-patter of rain, accompanied by a cool breeze did nothing to soothe the girl. As time ticked by, small bean sized sweat appeared on the girls forehead, her black thick eyebrows frowned, her nose scrunched. The young girl seems to be in immense pain, as her breathing was disheveled for quite some time and ceased.

After a few moments, the girl, who stopped breathing suddenly gasped for air. As her breathing stabilized, she gradually fell asleep, too tired to even open her eyes. Nobody noticed that the patient in the last bed had, even for second, stopped breathing. As night continued to grow old, the darkness descended the corridor outside, as if to lure everyone to go home and be a good child, who sleep early.

The morning breeze in Mumbai was, with a mix of car horns and the exhausts. In the hospital room, in the 2nd floor, the lying figure of the teenage girl slowly opened her eyes. As sunlight shone on her through the curtains of the window besides the bed.

She was calm beyond her age. She had a head full of dark black weave like hair. As she sat up on the bed, the hair, like a mesmerizing breeze fell on her back like a waterfall. She has the standard face of typical Indian girl. Only, she has a face the size of a palm, round calm like lake eyes, the pupil, black like galaxy that could suck your soul. Rose like lips. She was a beauty to behold. A stunning, breathtaking angel.

The girl was staring in the direction of the window, seemingly lost in thought. Her whole being sharp and with something of mystery, like she is a being from the other world. Like an Immortal.

The serene and tranquil atmosphere was broken when the door to the common ward opened, and in came the nurse on duty. Upon seeing the girl awake, they did a routine check and went to inform the doctor.

Once again alone, as the others slept, the young girl let out a soft, almost inaudible sigh, a slight change in her otherwise stoic face.

Upon closer observation, the weariness could be seen clearly in her eyes. A slender hand rose from the side and, two long and beautiful fingers pinched the space between the eyebrows.

The sky out side was slowly getting covered by the clouds. Looking like a down fall is evident, though rain is not possible in this month, there are always exceptions.
