Chapter 160 - KIYOTAKI TUNNEL

ORIGIN: Kyoto, Japan.

The Kiyotaki Tunnel is infamous for being one of the most haunted places in the country.

It was built in 1927 during the Taisho era, and is now surrounded by eerie legends of ghosts, time disorders, and curses.

One of the most scary aspects of the tunnel's legend is its connection to forced labor.

It is said that during its construction, many workers were brutally mistreated, and some even died due to exhaustion or the unsafe conditions of the tunnel.

Their spirits are believed to remain there, appearing as ghostly figures walking near or inside the tunnel, especially at night.

Some drivers say they have seen a pale woman in a white kimono standing on the roadside or in their rearview mirror, only for her to vanish just a few seconds later.

Another belief is that the tunnel's length mysteriously changes— frequently— depending on the direction you measure it.

Some say this is due to supernatural force or interference, which must be why time seems to be different in there.

There is also a cursed mirror inside the tunnel which is said to bring misfortune or worse, death to anyone who looks into it.

Locals warn people not to pass through the tunnel alone at night, to avoid the wrath of what they think are restless spirits haunting the tunnel's dark passage.
