(AN: This is my new story and i am determined to continue it, there might be some minor mistakes and the plot might seem simple at first, But believe me it had some good twists, concepts and fight scenes.]
When he regained consciousness, he found himself sprawled in the heart of a dense forest. At the edge of his vision, a faintly glowing translucent screen hovered, its presence both mysterious and unnatural.
Gritting his teeth, he forced his battered and weary body to rise, each movement a struggle against the searing pain and overwhelming fatigue.
"Where am I? I remember playing that new game—"
He paused mid-sentence, his gaze snapping to the transparent screen in the corner of his vision. His eyes widened in shock as recognition hit him. He knew exactly what that was.
"N-No, don't tell me I died from overworking myself, grinding rankings without sleep for days, and got transmigrated?"
He didn't need anyone to explain the situation to him. As someone who had devoured hundreds of stories with this exact trope, he immediately pieced it together. The status window floating before him was more than enough proof to confirm his suspicion.
Instead of nervousness, an excited grin spread across his face. Why wouldn't he be thrilled? Getting transmigrated to a fantasy world was the ultimate dream of any otaku—and if luck was on his side, building a harem along the way would just be the cherry on top.
"Let's see what this window has to offer," he muttered, eager to discover what kind of power or abilities awaited him in this new world.
[Name: Edward
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Essence type: Primordial
Essence: Existence
Bond level: Innate
Blessings: None
Abilities:
Passive: Existence Sense
Active: Existential Manipulation]
As he read through the status window, the excited grin quickly vanished, replaced by a look of grim realization and horror. His lips trembled as he muttered in disbelief.
"W-Why? Why did it have to be this world?!"
As he scanned his status, or more specifically, the power system displayed before him, a cold shiver ran down his spine. He instantly recognized which world he had been thrust into. The power system of this novel was unlike anything he had encountered in the countless fantasy novels he had read. This particular system stood out so clearly in his mind that he could remember the details of the webnovel it came from as if he had just finished reading it.
The name of the novel was "The Academy's Genius Spearman"—your average fantasy academy story featuring a dense yet absurdly strong protagonist and a harem of beautiful girls. The beginning seemed peaceful enough, but that peace didn't last long. As the story progressed, it descended into chaos, with horrific incidents unfolding one after another. The main characters, protected by their plot armor, would always survive, growing stronger with each trial. However, the survival rate for background characters in this world was a grim less-than10%.
"And from what I remember, there was no one named Edward... which means I'm most likely just a mob character in this world."
Panic and horror gripped him as his mind raced. The more he thought, the more questions surfaced, each one more pressing than the last. Who was this Edward guy? Why had he woken up alone in the middle of a forest? Why was his body so battered and bruised? And, perhaps the most terrifying question of all—where exactly was he, and where the hell was he supposed to go next?
"Walking aimlessly would be dangerous, i really don't want to run into any monsters right now."
The monsters in this world were unbelievably dangerous and powerful. Even the weakest of them could easily kill him with a single blow in his current state.
As his thoughts spiraled in every direction, a sudden notification flashed in front of his eyes.
[Tip: Check your left pocket]
Driven by curiosity, he reached into his left pocket and pulled out two pieces of paper. One was a map of the continent, and the other, to his surprise, was an admission certificate to the Royal Academy Solaris.
The Royal Academy Solaris was the most prestigious institution on the continent, founded by legendary heroes for the future generations. Only the elite could survive its grueling training and rigorous education, and even simply graduating from there could guarantee a bright future, opening doors to unimaginable opportunities.
The Royal Academy Solaris was not only the most prestigious academy but also the epicenter of all the world-shaping events in the story. For someone like Edward, a mere mob character, it was an extremely dangerous place to be. Yet, right now, he was lost with no place to stay, no money to survive, and no power to protect himself. In this situation, Solaris seemed like the safest place he could go. If he wanted to survive in this world, he needed to get stronger, and there was no better environment for that than Solaris. With the admission certificate already in his possession, he realized he had nothing to lose.
"I can only assume for now," he muttered to himself, piecing the situation together. "This guy must have been on his way to the academy when he got attacked by something... and somehow managed to escape."
With a clear destination now in mind, he decided to leave it at that and focused on navigating through the forest, using the map to guide him while praying he wouldn't encounter any monsters. However, another pressing issue loomed over him—he had no idea how many days he had left before he needed to arrive at the academy. To figure that out, he would have to reach the nearest town as soon as possible.
However, as the saying goes, things don't work out your way unless you're the son of fortune. As Edward made his way through the forest, the very thing he had been praying to avoid happened—a monster suddenly appeared on his path.
It was an E-rank monster known as a Grunt Boar. A massive boar with a thick, brown hide that seemed almost impervious to damage, and a pair of long, sharp tusks that glinted menacingly in the dim light of the forest.
The boar locked its eyes on Edward, and he froze in place. His heart pounded in his chest as panic surged through him—there was no way he could fight this beast in his current state. He didn't have any weapons, and while he might possess some abilities, he had no idea how to use them.
As Edward had mentioned earlier, this world is unlike other fantasy worlds. Here, you couldn't simply cast a spell or use a skill by reciting its name, nor did you get all the information about an ability just by acquiring it. Training is crucial, and without learning how to connect with your Essence, you couldn't tap into any of your abilities. It was one thing to read about it in novels and another to actually do it—there was a vast difference between knowing and doing.
Edward fell into a state of complete uncertainty once again, his mind racing as he watched the boar lower its head, preparing to charge. Its eyes glowed with murderous intent, and for a moment, Edward thought his adventure in this new world was about to end before it had even truly begun.
"Shit, I was an idiot to even think I could survive in this world," Edward muttered under his breath, the weight of his helplessness crashing down on him as the boar started to charge.
However, just as all seemed lost, a new notification appeared before him, like a last beacon of hope.
[Tip: Run towards the west]
Seeing the notification, Edward snapped out of his state of helplessness. With no time to waste, he leaped to the side, narrowly dodging the charging boar. The creature slammed into a nearby tree, splitting it in two with a deafening crack. But to Edward's horror, the boar barely seemed fazed. It quickly turned around and locked onto him once again, its tusks gleaming as it prepared to charge once more.
Without a second thought, Edward followed the system's command and sprinted towards the west. He dodged the boar's relentless charges with great difficulty, using the trees of the forest as makeshift cover. Each time the boar neared, he narrowly avoided it's tusks, his heart pounding in his chest as he struggled to maintain his footing and outpace the beast.
Huff
Huff
However, he was nearing his limits, his body screaming in exhaustion. As he passed through a thick bush, to his surprise, he suddenly couldn't feel the ground beneath his feet. His heart skipped a beat as he realized with horror that he had just jumped off a cliff.
"System! you damn traitorous bastard! You just wanted to kill me yourself!"
Edward screamed in fury as he plummeted down the cliff, his body tumbling helplessly through the air.
