The gentle zephyr of midnight had abreast of it a tender girl, carrying in her soft hands a knife with fresh blood etched onto it. The contrast between her childlike body and her ethereal yet terrifying singing made clear that she was no ordinary being.

A sudden downpour followed as if mourning the death of someone unknown, the girl's lips curled upwards slightly, and her hands fluidly cut into themselves a wound, as soon as the apparent bovine blood flow had its union with the rain, an explosion of proportions so brobdingnagian occured that it was hard to aptly describe. The tiny girl was shredded into a grotesque mess, a sight unimaginable.

The burst carried in its wake pure cacophony, alarming the proximal boys hostel. The students, absolutely startled, went out their dorms to see the commotion.

This rapid influx of students resulted in congested corridors, as the students got out into the school grounds they were taken control of by the teachers and were told to stay there till the summoned emergency service officers arrived.

Gradually, the students started going back into the dorms. En route their dorms, the students were chattering with each other, curious about the recent ruckus. Out of the blue, a ululation sounded and to the horror of the students, fresh vibrant blood oozed all around like a water filled balloon had been popped. There were audible gasps and the sounds of vomiting could be heard. The students were at a loss of word for the invisible killing of their fellow schoolmate.

Just as the youngsters had gotten into their reverie, another shriek sound but this time they could clearly observe the brutality in front of their eyes, a monster with scythes attached to its shoulders ruthlessly tore apart the young body of yet another student. And the sight of blood made that monster gain refound motivation for more of it. The tongue of the beast stretchable to an insane degree maneuvered deftly in the air, entering the corpse of the youngster and exsanguinating him.

All this time the students stood frozen in place as if the sight had taken all their vitality out of them. This deafening silence of the moment only broken with the irrational scream of a terrified individual. But before the next series of screams could even begin to form, the young man was decapitated, his blood gushing out like a fountain, his expression that of sublime terror and discontent. This event broke the stupor of the surrounding students, making their frozen bodies attempt desperately to avoid the inevitable, absolute truth, death. Their attempts mere tries to grasp at illusory straws, eventually all movement ceased after alternating screams.

The monster finally satisfied, laboriously sucked all the vitality out of the lying corpses, once vivacious students. One might expect the teachers to have come by now, but they all lay lifeless. Then, came the union of the monsters who had caused all the mishap. Both of them had plastered on their face grotesque expressions. The two didnt say anything to each other but instead simultaneously knelt down, their hands twisting into arcane gestures as if performing some kind of mystic ritual, the air arround them coalesced into the tangible swirling around like a tornado, slowly changing colours and adopting an unseen shade.

This movement of particles continued and gradually it garnered more and more prodigious proportions, then it begin to seperate into different clusters, slowly taking shape of something recognisable, the very people whose blood had just been drunk. But this was no mere reincarnation as the new creatures had no emotion, their faces completely robotic.

Thrum!!

Suddenly the world started to fade like someone had poured water over a painting.

Boom!

In the midst of a modern institution, on the middle stage stood a youngster with closed eyes, his hands placed on a ornate intriactely-patterned gem, which radiated a cyan incandescence. Suddenly his eyes snapped open, an unreadable and disconcerted expression laden on his charming face. "What was that?— and for how long have I been standing here like a fool , dont tell me my awakening failed— the thoughts of the young man were interrupted by the sudden influx of shine out the gem signifying a successful awakening, seeing this sight delighted the young man, his eyes gaining a bright hope for the future.

"Congratulations! Nicolas, you have awakened successfully, I wish you a bright life ahead" the stentorian voice of the headmaster ringed in his mind as he went down stage. Descending the stairs he went towards the crowd of mage trainees. Their eyes gazing at him in affirmation and belief.
