Chapter 4 - The mysterious lady

Chapter 4: The Awakening of Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body, and the mysterious lady.

As Qiangu cleared his mind, his body suddenly began to shake. A strange feeling came up inside him, starting as a very soft pulsing in his navel and spreading to his very extremities.

"What is this.?" he whispered, barely audible.

Instantly, the pulse in his body quickened and then suddenly split into two currents: one icy, cold, which made the vertebrae in his back shiver and the sweat on his body freeze; the other was ablaze, hot, to such an extent that it scalded his veins, heaved his blood.

Violent strife of the two strong energies within him, but neither overpowered the other one.

"Cold and hot." Qiangu muttered in agony.

In an instant, the scenery around him started to change.

---

A wave of frost shot out from his left side, freezing the ground and trees within a 500-meter radius of the semi-sphere. Ice climbed up the trunks of huge trees, and their branches broke with crackling sounds under the weight of the ice. The air turned bitterly cold; every breath one exhaled showed itself as a misty vapor.

On his right-hand side, a sudden fierce fire flared up. The grass was reduced to ash, and the trees crackled as their bark was consumed by the hungry flames. The green forest had been divided into two poles-an icy tundra and a blazing inferno-both centered on the young man who sat immobile.

The powerfulness of the phenomenon sent ripples in the spiritual energy in the area and called the attention of nearby beasts.

---

Qiangu Qitian clenched his teeth as his body wracked with unbearable pain. The opposing forces tore his very essence and were ready to rip him apart. His vision blurred and his consciousness wavered.

"I won't yield!" he roared, his will ordering the bedlam inside.

His body began to change dramatically as he tried to control the forces inside his body. His raven-black hair started changing as streaks of white and red developed from their roots. The hair colour changed to the moonlight, changing ever, till they combined into a bright silver color.

His features became sharp and refined; his eyes, once so good, now shone with a dazzling faint glow-one in silver, the other in crimson, a balance of ice and fire. While a majestic aura flowed from him. He was like the universe himself: creation and destruction, life and death.

At last, the counterbalancing energies in Qiangu Qitian found an unstable balance. Suddenly, a stream of knowledge exploded into his head.

Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body.

This was the name of the mysterious physique that he had awakened. His physique was not for strengthening as ordinary physiques were, but the appearance of the universe's basic forces.

Yin: Represented by the icy energy, it gave him incomparable control over cold, freezing not only physical matter but even spiritual energy.

Yang: Represented by the fiery energy, it bestowed upon him the ability to unleash destructive heat and reduce anything to ash in an instant.

Creation and Balance: Together, they could create or destroy, bring forth something completely new, or remove it from existence.

"This is. Is this my body that I have woken up to?" Qiangu whispered, his voice very low because of exhaustion.

---

However, the awakening was far from complete, even the body was just in its initial phase and has not developed. The Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body required perfect harmony between the opposing forces. Any imbalance would lead to his destruction.

The cold and heat continued surging, about to spiral out of control. Qiangu knew he had to act fast.

He drew his focus deep and conjured the image of the Yin-Yang Symbol-a perfect circle split by black and white halves.

"Balance is the trick," he growled. "I need to find out how to make them share a space."

Compelled by the might of his will, Qiangu forced Qi to move, making them twist in a fluid dance. The cold swirled to the left while the hot spiralled right. Slowly increasingly, the two currents started intertwining into their collision course.

As the energies finally stabilized, the chaos around them dissipated, and the frozen tundra, the blazing inferno, receded to stillness.

---

Finally, after the long struggle, Qiangu Qitian opened his eyes, now shining with unparalleled brilliance. He lifted his hand and channeled his new powers.

He punched the ground, using only his physical strength and not even a fraction of the new powers.

Boom!

The shockwave formed a crater, and the potential of his attack sent Qiangu speechless.

"I have just scratched the surface," he realized. "The possibilities are endless."

---

As powerful as his new body was, Qiangu knew that great risks came with it. Keeping balance to Yin and Yang required focus every second. A single mistake could lead to disastrous outcomes.

"This is a blessing and a curse," he said to himself. "But if I am able to master it, then nothing will be impossible for me."

---

The Mysterious Voice

The next morning, when the first beams of sun touched the ground, Qiangu Qitian stood by the river that was practically destroyed by his physique upon its awakening.

"The sect selection trials. are almost one month away from now. It's time to leave the forest," he muttered, his eyes narrowing.

The woods were silent in an odd way, as if it were holding its breath and waiting for something to happen. Qiangu Qitian stood near the remains of the river. His silvery hair flowed softly in the morning breeze. The words from the ethereal voice sounded in his mind:

"The Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body. trash and forbidden, awakened by a mortal?"

His eyes scanned the surroundings in search of the owner of the voice. He had a feeling that someone was there, but his refinement wasn't high enough for him to detect anything.

"Who's there? Come out!" Qiangu called out, trying not to let his voice display the apprehension now brewing in his heart.

Finally, the air chilled; a figure began to materialize before him.

A woman appeared before him, an apparition of such beauty that she seemed to have belonged to another world altogether. She was the perfect balance between allure and danger, her features chiseled to perfection-skim pale as moonlight, with high cheekbones and lips colored crimson that arced into a slight, mocking smile.

But it was her eyes that grasped Qiangu's interest. One of them was deep, as black as an abyss that would swallow light in; the other shone like molten gold and with a burning disdain, malice in them. Her raven-black tresses cascaded down her back, streaked by threads of brilliant white-quite as if reflecting this duality in her nature.

She cladded a billowy black-and-gold robe that perfectly suited her great figure, rendering an imposing sight. However, hidden within this beauty lies a cruel atmosphere, like a predator sizing up its prey.

"You… are the ones who awakened the Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body?" Her voice was melodious, smooth as silk, yet cold enough for the freezing of his bones.

Qiangu did not answer immediately, his intuition warning him about the dangerous woman she was, standing in cultivation so high, far beyond what he had imagined.

"What do you want?" he finally asked, straining to maintain composure, hiding misgivings behind calmness.

She cocked her head slightly, her mocking smile lengthening.

"What do I want?" she repeated, and an edge of amusement laced her tone. "I'm simply curious how a mortal like you, awakened a physique that's nothing more than a waste… a forbidden, taboo abandoned by the heavens."

Her words came upon Qiangu like a bolt of lightning in an instant.

"Waste? Taboo?" he echoed, his fists clenching.

Is, she spat out contemptuously, the Primordial Yin-Yang Creation Body nothing but the heavens' incomplete experiment, an existence fated never to reach true ascension. You really think that physique can bring you glory? Power? Naive.

Qiangu's chest tightened. His knowledge upon awakening had built up his physique as second to none, capable of creation and destruction; how could she call it a curse?

"Why would the heavens be giving me such a physique if it's as worthless as you say?" he returned serenely, however there were still some speculation about that, in his mind.

She laughed softly, melodious to hear, but sinister with intent.

"Grant you? Oh, mortal, the heavens didn't grant you anything. You found a broken tool, and now you are waving it as if it is some boon from above." Her golden eye narrowed, and the smile vanished. "But never mind that. You will return it to me now."

The meaning of her words hit Qiangu like a ton of bricks, and his body tensed.

"Hand over… my body?" he repeated, disbelieving.

"Yes, your origin, your body, your physique-they are wasted on someone like you; they belong to someone worthy."

Qiangu's fists had never clenched tighter. The audacity this woman had, coming from nowhere to demand so intrinsic part of himself!

"And if I refuse?" he asked levelly, his cold, silver and crimson eyes meeting her mismatched gaze.

She smiled then, more menacing than previously.

Refuse?" she said, her voice soft as silk but razor-sharp. "You misunderstand, little mortal, you have no choice."

---

In an instant and without warning, the heavy aura that enveloped this woman surged. The ground around her feet cracked and crumbled, unable to stand the weight of her overwhelming power.

Qiangu's breath caught as some invisible weight leaned on him, threatening to squash him where he stood. His knees buckled slightly, but he clenched his teeth and forced himself to stay upright.

"Interesting," she murmured, a hint of approval in her voice. "Your willpower is commendable, but in front of absolute power, it changes nothing."

She stretched out a hand, her fingers slender.

"Hand over your origin and physique willingly," she said, her voice now sharp. "Or I will rip them from you."

A furious Qiangu's heart raced, but he did not allow fear to beset him.

"This physique… this body… they are mine." He struggled to say, trying to steady himself against the mountain-weight pressed upon him.

She raised an eyebrow, seemingly in a daze from this little young man's sand-filled defiance.

"Yours? Do you really think you can ever protect what is yours? Of the burden of that form? Of its curse?"

You should know, you will not be able to cultivate the next realm, from this physique."

"I don't give a damn about what you think of it," Qiangu said, the silver and crimson in his eyes bright with defiance. "Broken it may be. Taboo. But it is mine, and no one-not you-will take it from me. Even if I can't cultivate, if it's better than giving it to you."

There was a moment of silence. Then the woman giggled, a melodious sound that sent chills down Qiangu's spine.

"How amusing," she said. "You remind me of someone… someone who dared defy the heavens himself. But tell me, mortal, how do you plan to protect your so-called treasure?"

"Resistance is futile. Why prolong the inevitable? Hand it over, and I may let you live."

The smirk at the corner of the lady's lips faltered a fraction of a second-actually just a flicker-but that was all before setting. The expression hardened thereafter.

"Very well." She whispered, her tone softer than earlier.

"We'll see how long that determination will last.".

Heh...hehe...her silvery laughter echoed in the whole forest.
