Hagan silently rejoiced that not only was the beast dead, he got credit for killing the damned thing.
"The Gods thank your for your sacrifice."
'… What?'
"However, the Gods are dead. You… The Gods thank your for giving them gifts even after they have perished. You have received a Blessing from many Gods."
'What the… What are you talking about?'
This voice wasn't The Soeaker, it was a feminine voice, light and comforting but full of confidence and power. The Speaker spoke again.
"Congratulations …, you have made a great sacrifice. You have been awarded with a Tier 2 Flawless Class."
"Your Class is ascending to Tier 3. You have received many rewards for your feats."
Then the female voice spoke again: "You have received a Blessing from the God of Shadows. You have received a Blessing from the God of Light. You have received a Blessing from the God of The Skies. You have received a Blessing from the God of The Sea. You have received a Bkessing from the God of Time. You have received a Blessing from the God of War. You have received a Blessing from "…". You have received another blessing from "…".
Hagan was in too much pain to think about the wonderful gifted he'd just received and was only thinking about how he'd managed to kill a ancient dragon of such a high rank.
The Speaker resounded in Hagans mind again: "You have received many Blessings from the Gods. The Gods take pity on you and thank you for sacrificing yourself and use the last of their strength to heal you."
Hagan heard this and a pale, barely visible smile appeared on his face which was nearly paper white from losing too much blood.
"You have cleared your First Trial. It's time to wake up … ."
Hagan awoke with a jerk, letting out a terrified and pain fueled screech. He looked around and noticed he was back in the solitary room, sitting on a bed with silk sheets and a soft pillow. He still had a fearful gleam in his eyes that betrayed his still, emotionless face as he glanced around.
The door suddenly opened and an attractive young woman walked into the room. She stared at him and then sat at the foot of the bed.
"How was your First Trial?"
Her voice was soft but carried no real concern.
"… Terrifying." Before he answered, a slight pain emerged behind his eyes, but once he answered, the pain went away.
She raised an eyebrow and looked at him with a slight smirk. "So, it was that bad huh?"
"Of course it was."
"Well anyway, my names Amara. Yours?"
As Hagan hesitated to answer, a searing pain slowly entered his mind and progressively got worse and worse. He then answered: "… I don't have one."
"Well than what can I call you?" She said while letting out a slightly annoyed sigh.
"Hagan."
"Alright Hagan, good job conquering your First Trial. Now, lets get you to the Academy"
