After a short while, the car finally came to a stop in front of a majestic gate. The sound of grinding metal filled the air as the gate slowly creaked open. Sophia's eyes widened in surprise, her gaze fixed on the gate as it swung open by itself.
In her mind, she couldn't help but think that she was leaving her old life behind. The village she grew up in was a far cry from this modern world. She had never seen automatic gates before, and the sight left her amazed.
As the gate opened wide enough, the driver expertly maneuvered the car through the entrance. The gate slowly closed behind them, and Sophia heard the soft click of the lock engaging.
The car continued up the driveway, winding through beautifully manicured lawns and gardens. Sophia's eyes darted back and forth, taking in the breathtaking scenery. The estate was even more stunning than she had initially thought.
Jonathan smiled, noticing Sophia's wonder. "Welcome to my home," he said, his voice warm and inviting.
Sophia turned to him, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's beautiful," she breathed.
The car pulled up to the front of the house, and Sophia's jaw dropped. The mansion was enormous, with towering columns and sprawling wings. It was a far cry from the humble castle she had grown up in.
The driver opened the door, and Jonathan stepped out, offering Sophia his hand. "Let's go inside," he said, smiling.
Sophia's eyes widened as she stepped out of the car, her gaze fixed on the mansion. It was even more enormous than she had seen it from the car earlier. She gasped in awe, her hand still clasped in Jonathan's, as she followed him closely.
Rachel, who had gotten out of the other car, followed them, her eyes scanning the surroundings with a mixture of familiarity and caution.
As they approached the mansion, the door swung open, revealing a spacious entrance hall. Sophia's jaw dropped as she took in the opulent decor. The walls were adorned with exquisite artwork, and the floor was made of polished marble that seemed to stretch on forever.
The hallway led to many doors, each one expertly crafted with intricate designs. Sophia's mind reeled as she tried to take it all in. She had never seen anything like this before.
Jonathan led them to a door at the far end of the hallway, which opened into a stunning sitting room. The room was filled with plush furniture, and the walls were lined with towering bookshelves. Sophia's eyes landed on a massive TV that seemed to dominate one entire wall.
"Welcome to my home, Sophia," Jonathan said, his voice warm and inviting, as he gestured for her to explore the room. Sophia's mind was filled with excitement as she took in the luxurious surroundings. She had never seen anything like this before.
As they walked around the room, Jonathan pointed out various features, explaining how everything worked. Sophia listened intently, her eyes wide with wonder.
After a while, Jonathan turned to Rachel. "Rachel, would you please show Sophia to her room? Help her get settled and take a shower. We'll have lunch ready soon."
Rachel nodded, smiling. "Of course, sir."
Sophia's eyes met Jonathan's, and she smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her uncle. She followed Rachel out of the sitting room, her heart still racing with excitement. As they walked down the hallway, Sophia couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the sheer luxury that surrounded her.
