The love confession spread like fire in the country. The benevolent Crown Prince confessed to the General. He said if he doesn't get the General, then he doesn't want the Crown at all. Moreover, the prince said he was in love with Daniel from the very beginning. How he lived these past years yearning for his company? How was he able to even stay in the capital when his heart was at the Northern border side? So much fear he must have had during past wartime? No one can know the answer! Now he had met his beloved, but John tried to kill him. People cannot help but pity Stephan. They can only sigh at his fate. They are no one but citizens. Their voice has no value as those nobles have.
At Allen's residence, in the hall, the brightness of the sun covered the hall through the window. The Right Minister Allen faces the pathetic John Allen with rage in his eyes. The always pampered John listened so much that he ends up refuting his father like an outsider.
The porcelain-like teacup shattered on the ground, terrifying John as he shivered. Ron Allen in his red robe looking refined yelled at his youngest child, "Why the hell did you attack General Daniel?! Is water gushing into that brain? Do you even know what happened today at the court? I was utterly ashamed by your act in front of so many nobles."
John who still has tear marks on his delicate skin and is now disheveled said feeling wrong, "Daniel has no right to stay with Prince. I was the one he should be. They were together after the banquet at night also. I can't share him with anyone."
"Ahh!! How can you? Is Stephan your possession? Even if he is, still, how can you do something so reckless? You could have endured a little! It was just a marriage. If not him there are countless young men and women willing to marry you. So why the hell you turn to kill someone." Ron Allen roared, hearing his unreasonable mumbling. His fist is gripped so tight that blood is dripping. John has no love for Stephan, even he can see this. His son is so, greedy. He is really regretting his past decision.
John refuted strongly, "But Daniel was disagreeing with my visit to Jenal. He said I'm not suitable for the event. He didn't give me any face!!! "
John greatly disappointed his father as he heard him sneering, "You are asking the General of the country to respect you?!!! He may not be on the same social status as us, but he is someone who ascents up by himself with hard work and persistence. Young and promising. Can you, do it? Someone as strong as him doesn't need anyone as a backing. He could do anything he wishes too. The King was even feared that he would rebel against him, but the Crown Prince assured him that Daniel would never do it. You know where this trust came from? It was because they love each other and everything Daniel did till now was for Stephan."
He said, "Does his reason for not taking you to Jenal unreasonable? Even I and the monarch rejected the idea, but you stubbornly refused."
He said so much that his breathing become heavy. The minister is now not the same as before. His health is also deteriorating. Young Madam Winy Allen hurriedly said, clasping his hand, "Calm down. Don't say such hurtful words. Our son was just being protective over Prince because he loves him. He was agitated and nothing."
Ron Allen agitated by John shook away her hand and said coldly, "Don't take his side. If these words are hurtful, then what he did to Daniel today was not hurtful? Can you imagine the wound that was right beneath his heart!!! If a slight change in attack, Daniel would have been dead. He almost died due to pain and blood loss. You never have experienced this type of cruel attack, that's why you are saying this. But I have, even a needle could make someone scream and it was even a dagger? Do you know, the survivors like this are only two peoples till now."
"And you are not even trying to go there to apologize for this brat!!" Winy went silent. His cold eyes glared at his wife, as he said, "Winy pampering is okay, and I never stopped giving our children love and care. But this type of action can't be spared."
John yelled at his father's constantly targeted words, "Enough!! He is just a lowly soldier with rank and nothing. He doesn't have a family. Who knows if he is a son of bitch. He is just a bastard. Father, you can't take the side of an outsider instead of me. Moreover, he has an affair with the prince. How can you expect me to take it silently!!!?"
The anger he showed finally made Ron Allen disgruntled. A father's hand rose and land across the son's cheeks that he used to pat gently. His last shed of gentleness disappeared, he slapped him. His voice ranged in the large hall, "You know who has the highest literature achievements till now?"
John went silent but the next moment he was shocked, "It was Daniel Frank. His marks on all subjects were full. For five consecutive years. No one can ever achieve this. You know why? Because he was always studying no matter what subject it is. I never saw someone as diligent as him in my whole life. You say, you have vast knowledge of literature, right? But your grades are not comparable to his. Justify now! How you are superior to him?!"
John was too stunned to even speak he took a long time yet now his face has nothing but awkwardness, "But this is not known to anyone! Yeah, it can't be."
Ron said with red eyes, "You even know what you are talking about?! You are questioning the imperial exam cell? Take him back to his room and lock him up. Don't let him out."
He let out a long sigh, "John, you don't deserve Stephen." In his passing years, he saw how capable Stephen is. The man who could play with people without anyone knowing. His sight always far more than what others can see. Someone like him deserves someone like General Daniel. Both remarkable and loves each other. Ron Allen never in his whole life saw such matching pair.
John's eyes are wide open in shock, "What are you doing, Father!!? I didn't say anything wrong, why are you confining me? I have to marry the prince; you can't do this to me!! Not only that, but I'm worthy of him, I deserve him and no one else does!!!!" As the guard dragged him out of the room, his voice vanished after some moment.
Ron Allen took a deep gust of air in and gaped at the clear sky and felt so wrong for himself in this situation. He didn't look at his wife and said to the courtier, "Tell the guard to prepare the carriage and apology gifts, we will go to the General's mansion tomorrow."
Winy Allen asked, hearing him, "Why? What will happen to our son? He will be heartbroken if he knew this!"
Ron didn't reply, instead asked, "What was our relationship like back then? Do you still remember?"
Hearing this, Winy didn't say anything but nodded. She remembered how much trouble they faced to marry each other. Their family didn't agree to let them marry each other because Winy was engaged to another nobleman. That man was crazy over her, trying to gain her repeatedly. But she didn't love him, but Ron. Despite their deep love, they were not acknowledged by others due to Allen's lower rank in the court. However, Ron did every means to make her family agree and after getting the post of Right Minister, he married her right away.
Now the situation is similar to theirs, but she is ignoring it due to his son, who doesn't deserve Stephen. Daniel has the same standing as Ron who did everything to marry Stephan and they love each other. Knowing her misjudgment of the situation she didn't utter anymore. Ron stood motionless; he didn't comfort her like he usually does.
He maintained his post as Right Minister for more than three decades without any problem. All because of his wise choice. He thought John is a good candidate for replacement before Daniel came back, that's why he agreed with the king and queen about the marriage. Because John has always been a sensible child, delicate and elegant. He will understand his words later on about Daniel and Stephan. Never thought of this to happen. He can let John marry some other noble, but not a Prince. This incident shouldn't have taken place at all.
He frowned as his head crushed and sighed. As a man with intellect, he will never force the prince to marry John and the General to forsake the prince, even if it's for his son. From the beginning he knew Stephan likes Daniel. Ron will give them a blessing and just as he had thought the marriage between John and Stephen shall be broken in fixed time after Daniel comes back. But he never thought that his son who is always obedient would turn out to be this malicious and greedy. Now he can't wait any longer. He doesn't wish to see Daniel struggling any longer. This child has already done enough. John has already done enough wrongdoing and pushed the Allen family in a very difficult position. His colleagues were mocking him about this incident, and the king is questioning his past verdict.
Although he offered to abrogation of the proposal at first and very long time ago things aren't this simple. They didn't agree to it at first yet now they are accusing him. He is very furious, but he can't refute. Because they are the monarch and other important officials of the court. If understanding his previous words, they had revoked the marriage the situation wouldn't have evolve like this. He doesn't like to face these problems at all. He breathed deeply and left the hall leaving Winy alone.
