Chapter 8 - (8) Talent

"Oh that is surprising, Silva has not recommended anyone in a long while! She must have been very... impressed." Lilia swallowed hard, her eyesight naturally drawn to Alans bottoms.

He left his armour inside Silvas room, currently wearing simple yet expensive looking clothes, made out of cotton but with small golden embroidery woved into it, gifted to him by Silva, from a pile of mens clothing she randomly had inside one of her closets.

This made Alan look like a noble or a rich merchant. His extremely fit and muscular physique did not fit with a usual image of a young noble or merchant though, it was a unique mix.

Flustered at the dirty thoughts racing through her mind, Lilia took out a stone tablet, which made Alans medallion vibrate a little bit.

"Please put your hand here and press it against the stone. If your parents were a members of any, officially approved church, it should give us basic details about you." Her emotions were at a boiling point.

Shrugging, Alan placed his hand on the stone tablet, liting it up with bright, purplish light, drawing the attention of nearby clerks in the chamber.

The clerk herself was stunned. 'P-purple mana! That means he was blessed by a diety! Lilith! No wonder the Swallower recommended him!'

Lilias legs nearly buckled underneath her.

Name: Alan Ursus

Age: 18

Hair Colour: Brown

Eye Colour: Green

Occupation: ****her

Place of birth: Ursinium

Parents: Retrius Ursus, Lothiana Ursus

Pantheon: Lilith

"O-oh." Lilia had to sit down. This was too much. He was most likely Liliths chosen, a son of a noble and an important one at that, Ursus! The bears of Northern frontier!

The odd thing was that Ursus line followed a god of war, instead of performing hedonistic rituals to please Lilith.

"S-sorry, I hope I haven't offended you, sir." She anxiously bowed and apologised for her naughty thoughts.

"Please, it's fine." Alan was flustered by the sudden use of honorifics.

"Here is your card!" Her voice squeaked, as Lilia handed Alan his ID card.

"F-follow me!" She moved swiftly towards a side room, to onlookers it seemed like she was trying to escape Alan.

"N-now please put your hand on this orb." Lilia took off piece of cloth from the pedestal, revealing an ink black orb, perfectly round.

"Please channel your mana sir!"

Alan placed his hand as instructed and embraced the orb with his fingers. Following the steps of mana release, taught to him by Silva, he poured his all into it.

The orb changed colour, first to pure white, indicating mana being present and scanning for attributes, then the crystal clear orb became filled with deep purple energy, strands of pink mana floated within it.

Lilia began praying, seeing a tattoo on Alans bicep that was glowing with the same coloration as the orb.

'Oh no...' Alan knew he would be in trouble...

It took a solid hour of convincing but Alan managed to persuade Lilia from revealing the truth. Claiming it would bring harm to Liliths divine plans for him, Lilia relented.

"So you do have large mana reserves and it's also quite potent but there could be drawbacks to it. For instance your ability to control such power could be insufficient or it would simply increase the time required to learn new spells. Although any spell that you do learn will be thrice as strong as its comonnly accepted version." Lilia panted for breath, the secret was suffocating but she had sworn on Liliths name.

"I am sorry for the trouble I have caused." Alan sincerely bowed.

"No! It's okay! It's an honour!" She was sweating, Alans presence was too much. Extremely attractive, nobility and chosen.

"I would suggest visiting our local temple, the clergy there will be able to tell you on how to gather holy energy and they way of using it. Lilith is a specific God but I am sure you will be alright!" Lilia, for the first time smiled, knowing that her break was nearly there.

Alan scratched the back of his head, embarrassed but glad that he found out his parents names, as always Silva would surely have the answers! The worrying part was that everyone seemed to know her.

He stepped outside city hall, feeling the uncomfortable stares of other clerks on his back.

'I guess I can go visit the arena now.' Alan was excited to see what this event was all about!

Alan was on his way to a bustling with people arena. It was the biggest attraction in region, even elfs from nearby forest, known for their distaste of human craftsmanship, attended the major or most depraved fights.

There were peddlers and merchants scattered outside the entrance, some had small tents that protected their creations while others had simple tables set in the open but all had similar goal in mind, to sell or scam, maybe both, new visitors and travellers.

Torches we're being lit by the nightwatchman, as sun was slowly disappearing behind the nearby mountain.

Newly drawn posters were being put up on arena columns and local buildings.

It seemed to Alan like the reopening of this place was done with grandeur, someone was willing to spend a lot of money, just to make a good impression. If Alan only knew that the profits acquired by the owner, outweighed losses, heavily.

Remembering words spoken to him by an elderly citizen, he checked his pockets, finding few copper coins, a small part of his reward for saving Silva and after spotting the biggest tent, he hoped it was where one could buy a ticket.

Symbols and sigils adorned every tent and the walls of this place. All of them were the exact copy of the tattoo that Alan had on his bicep.

'Well I guess this is Liliths territory? Would explain why I can feel so much lust in the air... also is it just me or is everyone here very attractive?' Alan thought to himself as he observed the staff that was busy accommodating their clients needs...
