Chapter 67 - Figures - Chapter 10

"I see you all have finally made it to the courtyard, this is simply the best!"

He continued to walk as he walked over to what seemed to be a platform. He walked up each step one by one before reaching the top, making sure to look amongst the students at an elevated height. He adjusted his collar once more before speaking to the crowd of students.

"Now, we will conduct our evaluation trails here at Auradelle Academy. Each student will have to cast these three spells and be evaluated on many aspects known to me, and not to you."

Chatter amongst the crowd began to sprout as some students began to speak out.

"Hey. That doesn't seem fair at all!"

"Yeah! What do you mean only 'you' can know what to judge us on?"

"We might not get a fair shake at all with these rules."

"I couldn't have studied for something like that…"

The chatter continued until a large clap was heard from the crowd, a student walked forward and smiled confidently. His hair slicked back and as red as a cardinal.

"You all seem to be complaining already, without even trying the man's trail. If you can't handle something with an unexpected outcome, how could you call yourself mages?"

He shrugged at the crowd and stepped forward into what seemed to be a crafted circle on the ground. The headmaster smirked seeing the boy step forward with such confidence. He closed his eyes and put his hands behind his back and began to speak.

"Ready your wand, young one."

"With pleasure."

He confidently pulled out a sleek brown wand, seemingly crafted carefully. Dante watched closely to see what he'd do, thinking he could take note of how to cast correctly through someone with such confidence. The headmaster then took a deep breath before speaking a chant quickly. As he said the words, the boy followed.

"Bolis."

"Bolis!"

Instantly a small flame grew from the tip of his wand and he shot the fireball into the sky, the small mortar of flame slowly fizzled out into the air. Many students were shocked at the reaction the boy had to the quick words of the headmaster.

"Glacies Testa."

"Glacies Testa!"

Once more, a light blue grew from his wand as a chilling shard began to grow in front of his wand, following the same motion as he did before. Shooting the magical blast into the air as it shattered and fell down as a powdery substance.

He smirked as he pointed his wand forward with confidence. The headmaster clapped softly, seeing the display that was shown to him. He proceeded to motion for him to come forward as he followed.

"That was enough for me to judge where he should be placed. Isn't it simple folks? You show me your skill, and you get placed accordingly. I am over three-hundred years old after all, I'd know skill better than you know the back of your hand ho-ho!"

A projection then appeared suddenly over the boy's head, as the headmaster continued to speak.
