Chapter 12 - The Systeam

[Ding!]

A strange metallic sound pierced through his mind, as if it emerged from the depths of his soul.

"Welcome to the system."

Kingoro slowly opened his eyes. His head throbbed with pain, and his vision was blurry.

"What... what is this sound?" he whispered to himself, trying to make sense of it.

"If you want to start the game, press 'Start.'

If you want to close the game, press 'Close.' "

Kingoro froze in place. The voice was clear, but it wasn't coming from outside—it was inside his head.

"A game? What game is this? Have I finally lost my mind? Is this because of Yurio's seal?"

He paused for a moment, trying to recall his brother.

"Yurio… yes, that's his name. My brother who crushed me."

"60 seconds until automatic shutdown."

Kingoro's heartbeat quickened. There was no time to think.

"I don't know what this is, but if there's a chance to change things… I'll press 'Start'!"

[Ding!]

"The game has begun."

[Choose a Class]

A bright light appeared before Kingoro, and words started to form in the air.

Each choice shimmered with a different color, and each description seemed to call out to him.

Warrior: Direct combat with powerful weapons.

Defender: Protect others and endure damage.

Mage: Destroy enemies with magic.

Support: Heal and strengthen allies.

Sniper: Attack enemies from a distance.

Trickster: Deceptive and tactical strikes.

Shadow Knight: Control shadows and dark magic.

Assassin: Silent and deadly strikes.

Mercenary: Adapt to any situation.

Skill Copier: The ability to copy any technique you see.

Kingoro's eyes darted between the options, studying each one carefully.

"Warrior? No, I wouldn't have the courage to face enemies head-on. Mage? Maybe, but I'm not good with magic. Skill Copier…"

His eyes widened as he read the details:

"Copy any technique? That means I won't be limited to a single class! If I want to become strong like my brothers, this is the only choice."

"Alright, I'll choose Skill Copier!"

[Ding!]

"Congratulations! You've chosen 'Skill Copier.' "

[View Stats]

A table appeared before Kingoro, displaying his personal details:

Name: Kingoro

Available Points: 5

Sword Power: 0

Skills: [Skill Copier]

Magic Ability: 10

Kingoro carefully examined the table, as if the words were being etched into his mind.

"What? I'm 16 years old? But I was just a kid! How did all this time pass?"

[Ding!]

"Your shield has been broken."

"What?"

Suddenly, a burning pain shot through his body. He fell to his knees, gasping for air.

"Ugh… I can't move. My body…!"

Vague images began to flash through his mind: his mother, his brothers, the moment Yurio defeated him. Tears began to stream down his face.

"Did everyone move on without me? Six years? Why?!"

[The Sword and Magic Garments]

As he struggled to gather his strength, he noticed something shimmering on the ground.

"A sword?"

He stumbled forward, extending his hand toward it.

[Ding!]

"Congratulations! You've obtained a level B sword."

"Level B? That means it's a strong sword. But… how was I able to control it?"

A small smile spread across Kingoro's face, a sense of relief washing over him for the first time in years.

"Finally… my first sword!"

He looked around and spotted a black garment and a long white scarf lying nearby. He picked them up.

[Ding!]

"Congratulations! You've obtained level B magical garments."

[Daily Quests]

"Today's quest:

Kill 10 level 10 monsters.

[Reward: 1000 XP + 5 skill points]"

Kingoro: "Level 10 monsters? That's impossible! Father sealed the gates… right?"

But he heard a roar echoing through the nearby corridors. Slowly, he turned to see 15 massive monsters staring at him with wild, hungry eyes.

"Oh no…"

[Battle: Kingoro vs. Monsters]

There was no time to think. He gripped his new sword tightly.

"No time for fear now. If I don't fight, I'll die."

The monsters charged at him. The first lunged with razor-sharp claws, but Kingoro ducked at the last second and swung his sword with all his might.

[Successful Strike!]

The monster's head hit the ground.

But the rest didn't wait. Four monsters attacked him simultaneously.

Kingoro tried to retreat but was slashed across his arm. The pain was unbearable, but he screamed:

"I won't back down!"

The battle raged on for what felt like an eternity.

Every time a monster fell, another appeared. Kingoro was gasping for air, his body covered in wounds. But he refused to give up.

The final monster was the largest. Summoning every ounce of strength he had left, Kingoro delivered a fatal strike.

[Ding!]

"Quest complete. You've earned 1000 XP + 5 skill points."

Kingoro collapsed onto the ground, struggling to catch his breath.

"I… I did it," he whispered, a small, triumphant smile breaking through his exhaustion as tears rolled down his face.

He lifted his head toward the sky and shouted with a trembling voice:

"Wait for me, all of you… I swear I'll take my revenge!"
