Ryuji. Ryuji Kuroda.
That's the name his parents gave him in this world. It's been 2 years since his childbirth. During the first few months, he has gone through the five stages of grief.
Then, when he thought he might still be able to meet his friends when he grew up, he was met with another shock. This was not Earth, at least not the one he was from.
Here, people had superpowers. Yes, you read that right. SUPERPOWERS! Well, here people called them quirks.
How did Ryuji know about it?
He first understood the gravity of quirks on an ordinary day. Sitting in a stroller, chewing on a snack, and half-listening to his mother chat with a neighbor, he suddenly noticed the shadow over them grow. He looked up.
And there he was.
A massive blonde man in a garishly bright blue and red outfit descended from the sky with a grin so wide it practically gleamed. The man landed with a boom, sending a gust of wind rippling through the street.
"Fear not, citizens! For I am here!" the man proclaimed, his deep voice resonating like a hero out of a storybook.
There he was, All Might. The Pillar of Peace. Ryuji knew about him as a piece of fiction, which has now become his reality.
In his previous life, Ryuji had always been a dreamer. As a historian, he had spent countless hours immersed in the stories of epic battles, great leaders, and turning points that shaped the world. Yet, his passions extended beyond reality. Fiction called to him—anime, manga, novels—worlds where imagination knew no bounds.
But never, not even in his wildest musings, had he thought he would end up in one of those worlds himself.
After that, he was once again thrown into a confused state. Being a baby who had to be taken care of also did not help at all. When he first soiled his diapers, he went through the five stages of grief again.
After that he always tried to signal to his parents when he had to go to the toilet. His parents were lovely and caring. They took care of him all day long. But he still could not bring himself to accept them in his heart.
Being a reincarnated person, Ryuji showed frightening levels of intelligence. The Kuroda couple was practically on cloud nine. Thinking their child was a once-in-a-century prodigy.
Ryuji could already speak some incoherent words at 4 months old; he started crawling at that time too. He started fully walking at 8 months old. Now, at the age of two, he could already speak Japanese fluently and has some good mobility.
Speaking of his parents...
His father, Tatsuo Kuroda, was a police officer. His quirk was called Memory Echo. It allowed him to know the past of any object he was holding. The only downside was that the memories were fragmented, which made the information sometimes useless.
His mother, Saki Kuroda, was a housewife. She was practically there with him day and night. Her quirk was Emotional Resonance, which allowed her to know a person's emotion to a particular action. Every time she used her quirk, her brown eyes seemed to glow.
Ryuji thought his mother's quirk would be really convenient if she was a businesswoman. Knowing how the other party feels about certain offers and deals will make you a master negotiator.
With the existence of quirks, Ryuji finally has something to look forward to in this unknown world. It also brought his mind away from his depressing thoughts.
Ryuji set a lofty goal for himself. Since he couldn't change his previous world the way he wanted, he would change this world to his whims. The way he thought was right.
The goal brought clarity to his mind. It also made him start planning early.
'The world of My Hero Academia, the hero system operates under a strict No-Kill Rule, which prevents heroes from killing villains, even when it might be necessary to protect lives.'
'This creates a moral dilemma for heroes, who are forced to restrain themselves in situations where taking decisive action could prevent further destruction. Villains exploit this weakness, knowing they cannot be permanently stopped, leading to repeated escapes and increased harm.'
'The system is clearly faulty, but no actions are taken to remedy the situation. Which makes me suspicious about the upper echelon. I think they are intentionally dividing the population into heroes and villains to better control them.'
'It makes the superpowered mass under control and also makes their rule unshakable. If I wanted to challenge their rule, I would certainly be met with strong backlash, maybe even assassination attempts.'
'If I really want to change this world, I need both political power and the support of heroes. I should first try to get into U.A. to build the foundation and connections that I will very likely need.'
With the immediate goal settled, Ryuji's little eyes burned with determination. He looked a little cute, and so Saki couldn't resist pulling his cheeks, which once again reminded him of his depressing condition.
'Sigh, now I have to wait for my quirk to manifest. Hopefully I get lucky and don't end up quirkless.'

One year later.
Nothing interesting happened in the last year. At the age of three, Ryuji started stretching for flexibility. If he wanted to be a hero, he should be physically fit. Fearing the risk of injury, he did not try exercising. Only some basic stretching was all he did. When he was a little older, he would try some light exercise.
This year, Ryuji would start his Preschool. He was not really looking forward to just sitting all day surrounded by a bunch of children. He tried to convince his parents with his intellect that school would not be helpful to him at all, but they wanted him to make friends and have fun.
So, Ryuji had no choice but to comply. Now, his daily routine became monotonous and he just went through the motions.
Wake up, stretch, eat, go to preschool, waste time, get praised, eat, handle the kids, come home, stretch, eat, bathe, sleep and repeat.
Like this another one and a half years went by...
