When I walked out of the room, I saw Carol leaning against the door with a smirk on his face. I wanted so badly to punch him square in the face.
I walked out of the house, and Adam followed behind me. He asked, "Should I help the girl and take her home?"
I squinted at him and replied, "She's not our concern."
After that, I got into the car and asked Adam to take me to the meeting. I needed to get my mind off all this mess. On the way, I leaned back and closed my eyes, but everything from earlier replayed in my mind. I sank into deep thought. Why did I even do it? It wasn't necessary at all. Everything that happened was frustrating and depressing.
My thoughts were interrupted by the ringtone of my phone. I opened my eyes to see Carol's name flashing on the screen. At first, I ignored the call, but he kept calling non-stop. I was even tempted to switch off my phone because, deep down, I knew he'd talk about Miss David.
The thought annoyed me further. Why should I switch off my phone? Just because I don't want to talk about some girl I barely know?
Finally, I answered the call with a scowl.
Me: "Hmm?"
Carol: "What's going on?"
Me: "What do you want?"
Carol: "Nothing. I just wanted to hear my darling's voice."
Me: "I'm not in the mood for jokes."
Carol: "Oh, sweetheart, don't do this to me."
I had no patience for his nonsense. Today's events had already given me enough of a headache. So, I hung up on him. Carol can be such a pain in the ass. Sometimes, I really wonder if my so-called best buddy is gay.
Not even a second after hanging up, my phone buzzed with a message from that bastard.
Carol: "Jokes aside, what do you want me to do with your sweetheart?"
At first, I didn't understand what he meant, not until he sent me a picture of Miss David lying unconscious on a chair. She looked pitiful, but she wasn't my concern, so I didn't reply.
A few minutes later, another message came in:
Carol: "If you don't reply, I'll take her with me, and she'll be mine."
That's when I responded.
Me: "She's not my concern."
Carol: "I appreciate your kindness. Thanks, darling."

Carsyn's POV
I have no idea what happened after I passed out. All I know is that when I opened my eyes, I was lying on a soft and comfortable bed.
I looked around the room and noticed everything looked boyish. The curtains were gray, and so were the bedsheets. I started to wonder where I was, whose room this was, and, most importantly, who changed my clothes.
What the... What am I wearing? Who changed my clothes? Panic set in. Calm down, Carsyn. Nothing's happened. Breathe. Everything is fine.
A whirlwind of thoughts raced through my mind. Could Mr. Finley have saved me earlier and brought me to his house after I fainted?
Oh my god, could it be true?
If so, does that mean he changed my clothes?
No, no, no! That would be so embarrassing. How will I face him?
Or worse... did we already... you know? But my body doesn't ache anywhere. No, that's impossible. I'm still a virgin. Right?
When I was busy spiraling, I heard the sound of a door opening. A man walked in, looking incredibly handsome with a warm smile on his face. But believe me, I wanted to punch that smile and knock out all his teeth.
Haha, just imagine someone smiling warmly at you... but with no teeth.
