Chapter 1 - Prologue

In the Seclusion Chamber, Su Wu sat on the cold stone floor, bleeding profusely, it took him a full minute to confirm he had transmigrated.

For an actor, accepting such a reality was easy, yet it was also horrifying: his career on Earth had been thrown away, and all his hard work undone and lost.

In his previous life, Su Wu was a rising star. He began acting at twelve years old and became a successful child actor by fifteen, starring in numerous TV series. At eighteen, he was cast as a famous villain in a superhero team franchise.

He was at the height of his career, but, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. During filming, the platform he stood on collapsed.

He was crushed under the debris and died. Yet, this was not the end of his story. Su Wu transmigrated into the body of a sixteen-year-old boy.

This boy was also named Su Wu, the illegitimate son of Su Houyang—one of the four generals of the Phoenix Empire—and a maid, conceived during a drunken night.

Unlike the typical neglectful parents found in webnovels, Su Houyang was a responsible father. He married Su Wu's mother and took care of him. When Su Wu turned sixteen, he was sent to the Azure Sky Sect, hoping he would make good use of his median talent.

After a month in the sect, the body's previous owner went into seclusion, attempting to break through in cultivation. He failed and died, leaving Su Wu's soul to take over.

Piecing all this together, Su Wu looked down to assess his condition. On the left side of his chest, near his heart, was a gaping wound, bleeding heavily.

"Am I going to die again?" Su Wu muttered to himself. He didn't want to die a second time, especially now that he had an entire new world to explore.

"Damn it!" he cursed, making the most rational decision he could: trying to leave the chamber to seek medical treatment.

Forcing his body to stand, the bleeding worsened, and his vision darkened. The white room began to blur into shadows.

'What a shitty life! At my peak, I died in an accident I'm certain was premeditated. How could a platform, regularly maintained, suddenly collapse? And now I'm bleeding to death...' These were his last thoughts before collapsing to the ground.

When Su Wu opened his eyes and saw the familiar ceiling, he was shocked to find himself alive. Remembering the gaping wound in his chest, he looked down and found it completely healed. Confused, he thought, What's going on?

Quickly turning his head to search for anything unusual, he realized everything seemed normal. Sitting cross-legged, he inspected his mind. According to the dramas he knew, there was always a "golden finger" hidden somewhere.

And indeed, there was. A golden screen full of information appeared in his mental space:

[Name: Su Wu]

[Age: Sixteen years]

[Title: Former Rising Actor, Illegitimate Son of General Su.]

[Skills: Acting, Determination.]

[Cultivation: Mortal (starting anew).]

[Qi: 0 → 100 (Advanced).]

[Talent: Median]

[Affiliation: Su Family – Outer Disciple of the Azure Sky Sect.]

[Missions – 1 → Not Started.]

Seeing this, Su Wu's eyes widened. The "golden finger" was real! Excited, he opened the mission tab, and upon reading the details, he smirked. This looks too easy.

"System, what day is it today?" he asked the screen. He knew he'd been in seclusion, but determining the exact date was difficult.

[March 3rd, Year 1000 of the Modern Era.]

In this world, the calendar was divided into eras. Each era could last thousands of years. The previous one, the Desolate Era, earned its name due to the lack of Immortals, with the heavens sealed shut. That era lasted ten million years and ended a thousand years ago, marking the start of the Modern Times.

"Understood. Is the calendar here the same as on Earth? That's strange..." Returning to reality, he stroked his chin. "I wonder if there's a way to return to my world," he murmured, his eyes flashing dangerously. "That better have been just an accident!" Though even he didn't believe it.

After a moment, he relaxed. Worrying about that now was pointless. At present, he was Su Wu, and his goal should be to carve out a path to strength and complete the first mission for the pill. His median talent wasn't terrible, but it wasn't enough—especially given his background as part of a powerful family. That pressure had been the reason for his predecessor's death.

"A saint who doesn't want flattery and wishes to be treated normally? That's simple... The end of the month will be interesting."

Smiling, he grabbed a nutritional pill from a bottle and consumed it, feeling his hunger dissipate. For the next seven days, he wouldn't feel hunger.

Sitting cross-legged again, he began studying his family's breathing technique, the Solar Breathing Method.

As he practiced, he noticed something: his comprehension was better than the previous body's owner, despite having the same talent level.

'Is it because I'm a transmigrator? Did my soul merging with this body enhance my understanding?'

Su Wu considered this possibility. Whether it was true or not, time would tell.
