Ace's POV
As Ray, Philip, and I entered the kitchen, the surprise on Ovelia, Ann, and Mrs. Melinda's faces was palpable. Their eyes widened, and Ovelia raised an eyebrow, a curious expression painting her features, their soapy hands hovering over dishes.
"What are you doing in here? Do you need something?" Ovelia asked, her voice laced with confusion and concern.
I quickly gestured for silence, and the three of them nodded, continuing their chore of washing dishes.
I glanced at Philip and Ray, gesturing toward the condiments shelf. They nodded, and we all instinctively ducked behind the shelf, trying to conceal ourselves.
"Why are we hiding here? Why not the storage room?" Philip said, annoyance creeping into his tone.
