Chapter 3 - The Day Dreams of a Old Man

Orfan and Arabel have been walking in the forest in search of boars for about a day now. It's getting late so they find a nice clearing and set up camp. Arabel plops herself down on a log while Orfan looks for firewood "Old Man… I call you old but you look about in your 50's, how old are you?" he picks up some wood "well I kind of stopped counting when I hit 60… but i would guess 105 maybe a year or two older" She sits her mouth wide open "what do you expect from an elf?" she snaps herself out of it and comments "yeah just… you don't look like most elves I've met". He stays silent.

He finds some spruce and starts to set up a chopping block. She tries to continue talking but he tunes her out. He starts cutting the wood, every swing making his thoughts grow more intense.

100 years ago in the Seouli region:

Two kids sit on a green hill the sky a nice orange hue, a little bit before there curfew "Hey Karra, do you think Oni's are real?" a young boy asks, the young girl looks at him and laughs "no silly Oni are a myth by our parents, so we don't stay out late". They look upon the setting son.

A day later:

Karra runs through the burning city "Seo, SAU where you are" the smell of burnt flesh infected her nostrils, her vision a blurry red "MOM, DAD, SAU… WHERE ARE YOU" she got to her knees crying "why do i have to be… alone".

Orfan snaps out of it after cries for help are heard in the background. He drops the wood and runs. He runs towards the screaming, his old body getting tired fast. The cries become more and more audible each step he takes. "ORFAN HELP GOBLINS".

He views out of the bush seeing Arabel pinned to the ground being beaten bloody by goblins, one sits as a guard, the other 2 beating Arabel. he grips his blade thinking to himself (if I draw, I declare a… No, they have stroke first) he jumps drawing his blade. He kicks a hole through the watch goblin who does one yelp of pain. "O-old man" she says on the ground.
