Lucky pulled the diary from her purse. "This was my mother's, I found it in Neveah's room after the Moon Goddess gave me one of her cryptic hints. Neveah must have found it, and started writing in it." She handed the diary to Sophie. "Take some time to read it and tell me what you think."
Lucky wanted someone else to draw the same conclusion she had drawn. It would make her more confident in her assessment of what she had read. The implications of it were serious. Neveah's last entry had shocked her. She didn't want to believe what she had read was true, even if it all but cleared her mate's name. There would be no turning back from this, and she didn't know what it would mean for her father. It broke her heart to feel like she was betraying her kin, having just found him. "I believe my father regrets what happened," she said softly, meeting Sophie's kind eyes.
