Chapter 23 - 23 part

In a rocking car.

Tom was sitting in a corner, he had done his identification and got into the vehicle, and he was now taking care of his katana with great care.

He was going to be taken to the western defense wall, first let's find out what the western defense wall is like.

The western defense wall is one of the 3 parts of the country that connects to the sea. There are more than 10 countries in this world, but 1/3 of the world belongs to humans and the rest is overrun by monsters.

It may seem stupid for countries to fight in this situation, but humans are greedy, but no matter how greedy they are, they don't let it blind them.

When there is a situation with monsters, there is a peace treaty, after all, countries can drop and destroy their enemies while they are fighting monsters, but this is neither efficient nor logical, and there are reasons for this.

1. if other countries do this how can they fight the monsters comfortably, this will increase the chances of them falling at a very high rate, so every country abides by this unspoken treaty.

2. and most importantly, of course, they can take them down, but that only ensures that they are next in line.

Tom got out of the vehicle, this war zone was divided into 4 areas and these 4 areas had back lines and front lines Tom was assigned to the albray line.

His tasks were not very difficult, in fact they could be said to be simple, every day for 2 hours to prevent the passage of monsters across the border, he would receive points per hour and depending on the number of monsters they killed, of course, he could work overtime if he wanted.

The point system worked in the same way, but there was a difference, there was more diversity, 10 countries were alive, and according to the agreement signed between the countries, the countries in the central regions that did not have many defense zones had to pay a certain amount of resources and military power to the active defense countries every year.

Of course, everyone had to be happy with this agreement, because the non-defending countries knew that they would be in danger if these countries fell.

Tom went to the settlement center of the albray region, where there were not many houses, so it was more practical and efficient to set up a tent. Tom set up the tent he had brought with him in an area that was neither too far away nor too close to the other tents.

Then he went to the house of the so-called company leader, after all, lasgere could not defend himself, his job was to protect the section where the company leader had placed him in a planned way.

Tom entered the house and looked at Jac, the Company leader, a man in his 60s, about 5'7" with white hair and a white beard and tired but determined eyes.

Tom said to him

I'm Tom Wan I'm a mercenary on a mission, I'm a D level mercenary and you're supposed to give me territory to defend.

Jac spoke "Hmm yes indeed I didn't expect a mercenary to come to the dangerous front lines these days young people are so brave tell me young man are you not afraid"

Tom was going to give him the reasons why he had come to him and so on, but before he knew it, some words came out of his mouth.

Tell me, sir, why a monster should be afraid of another monster.

The company leader was about to think that these were the fiery words of a teenager when he locked eyes with Tom's eyes and they were very familiar eyes, they shared something of the same ferocity as the eyes of the monsters he had seen on the battlefield.

But that was the only similarity, he didn't see in those eyes a reckless suicidal mania, in fact they were eyes that wanted to survive more than anything else.

The company commander laughed and said, "We'll see, I have expectations of you."

Tom went to his tent and waited and finally a car carrying a heavy load arrived and tried to give Tom some boxes with a very tired expression but it was too heavy and Tom had to ask for help.

After 10 minutes Tom carried all the boxes to his tent and there were some very interesting things in the boxes.

With all the points Tom had left, he had armor that fit his body from 100kg to 2000kg and Tom planned to use them to train himself during the war.

If anyone heard his idea they would vomit blood and shout that he was a madman with a death wish and Tom would tell them that no pain, no gain.

Tom then picked up a book with a list of the monsters he was going to fight and started to read it. After he finished reading, he committed what he had learned to memory and went to sleep. Tomorrow would be a bloody and busy day.
