Synopsis
The Ninja Hunters are powerful people who rely on elemental masters to awaken their power, the Moonbloods are just as powerful. When most of the Ninja Hunters are killed, a little family of Moonbloods hide their Ninja Hunter heritage. They train to become assassins and hide their secret and never reach their true potentials. However, when young Lizabeth runs away to avoid working as an assassin, she runs towards a future that will change her life forever. This is a Ninjago AU fanfiction with a HUGE lore upgrade. It follows the ENTIRE plot of Ninjago while adding my own characters, my own lore, and more. Yes, you'll notice that the story isn't followed exactly but that's the point so that way my new characters can shine too! Enjoy my series!

Chapter 1 - Prologue

~ Sometime in the past ~

~Realm of Molotoke~

Ghost wandered throughout the den as her filthy feet dragged along the earth's floor. She took in a deep breath, smelling her mother and smiled as she squatted down on the edge of a drop and brushed her tail amongst it as she slid down the 3-foot decline. The 8-year-old Moonblood's eyes glazed as she overlaid her eyes on her mother. The brown harried Moonblood's green gaze lay on top of Ghost with a sweet smile.

"What are you doing awake, Ghostwatcher?" Her mother asked.

Ghost played with her fingers as she prepared to speak as she heard her mother speak her full name. Moonbloods were given a longer name at birth usually in respect to their ancestors and about their personality. Some mothers and even Alphas have claimed they've been given the name through visions, that's how Ghost's mother came up with Ghostwatcher. You almost never use a Moonblood's full name unless it's during a ritual or formal event.

Another big part of their culture is being assassins. Many of the Moonbloods Ghost know are either training or trained assassins, but many disliked it. Just about everyone became one after the war but that was never Ghost's destiny. At least not forever. She was trained yes, but just enough to where should could be sent away. Her mother claims it's to protect her from being... a Ninja Hunter.

Mother thoroughly despised the fact that she was a Ninja Hunter and decided to block it out from herself. But after much convincing, Ghost started looking for opportunities to find her connection to her power. But even then, Mother said no to traveling to see martial artists with aiding her.

"You will not be successful in finding your power if you don't find it yourself," is what Mother would always claim. But Ghost always knew it was because of the wipe out that happened years ago which caused the Ninja Hunters to hide their true potential. There were few of them left after the humans and Moonbloods wiped them out but Ghost was aware of a few more families left. This would be the end of the Ninja Hunters.

But that was about to change.

"Ghost?" her mother asked again. "You got lost in thought there, hun."

Ghost smiled. "I've been studying Ninja Hunters and how they connect with their power and stumbled on something," she said. Once she saw her mother was listening, she continued. "It was the beginning of time. I started to read it but stopped because of how confusing it was."

Mother's ears twitched as her daughter continued.

"Could you tell it to me?" There was a long pause between them until Mother finally spoke.

 "Very well," Mother said.

Ghost smiled in joy as she walked over to the ground where a blanket laid and waited for her mother to join her.

"We must equip every Moonblood with our kind's History eventually." Mother said. "But don't tell your siblings."

Ghost nodded as she twitched her ear. The earring charm in her ear made it droop as the young girl couldn't hold it up. It was the only thing keeping her from wolfing out uncontrollably. She sat on the rug as Mother walked over to sit in front of her, lowering her voice not to wake the other children.

"A long time ago, before Moon was even born, the First Spinjitzu Master created a realm called Ninjago."

 "Ninjago?" Ghost asked.

"A dangerous place," Mother answered. "But magical. After the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago with the four golden weapons, he came in touch with a trapped spirit."

 "What's a trapped spirit?"

"A trapped spirit is a dead soul that can't cross into the Departed Realm. Anyway, the trapped spirit's name was Wyah. The First Spinjitzu Master freed Wyah, and the two realized that Wyah had a strange thing about him. Wyah had a dream that connected him with a powerful spirit and became known as a power holder. Please mind that if you hear the term 'elemental master,' note that a power holder is quite different."

Mother's tail brushed the side of her leg as she continued the story.

"Later, they had created two offspring, each by their powers. Wyah's offspring were females, and The First Spinjitzu Masters were males. Wyah's daughters were just like him and later had the same dreams and became power holders. Instead of The First Spinjitzu Master naming their kind Power Holders, he called them Ninja Hunters. " Mother's tail twitched as she recalled the engaging story.

"After the world continued to grow, The First Spinjitzu Master realized that the Ninja Hunters needed their own place, so he created a realm called Molotoke, and the Ninja Hunters could cross into Ninjago, and the humans into Molotoke as they wished. Some preferred Molotoke, others Ninjago. It was a balanced mix. That was until the prophecy."

"What happened?" Ghost asked, scooting forwards.

"Well, the two sides fought over it until the Elemental masters were starting to be born. However, for whatever reason, nature started to become unbalanced. Fern, one of Wyah's daughters, decided to let her father alter her baby that wasn't born yet into something to fix the balance of nature. Fern gave birth to a daughter soon after. She looked like a Sunblood, but she had these wolf ears and a tail that was pitch black. The creature had blue sapphire eyes and longed for the touch of the moon. So that's what she named her, Moon. Years and years later, Moon had offspring of her own, and they looked just like her. So Moon named this new race to be called Moonbloods due to the new race that branched off her. When the population on Moonbloods became larger, it scared the other Ninja Hunters, and the Moonbloods claimed Pawstocious as their own, and whoever was born there became one of them after it was cursed. The Moonbloods rebelled and won against the Ninja Hunters, causing them to go into hiding after being feared for what they'd done to the Moonbloods. This is why we can't show our true potentials. Not anymore."

 "That's a really cool story!"

"It's more than just a story, Ghostwatcher, it's our history. A history we must cherish and remember as we go on about life so we don't repeat mistakes. Now off to bed, you leave for your journey in the morning."
