Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

Mr. System Really Is a Good Person (1)

Jiang Xiumei felt cold and almost fainted on the spot.

Her dizzy mind was a mix of anxiety and anger. She hated that her son never tried to achieve great things. He and his group of good-for-nothing friends never did anything good and only caused trouble, and now even she got dragged into it!

Jiang Xiumei hurriedly returned home and went through all her stuff, taking out all her savings. Thinking that it was still not enough, she went to her neighbour to borrow some more.

The neighbour was an old friend that she often chatted with. Now that the Jiang family was in trouble, she didn't say much and lent her two thousand yuan.

"Old sister, don't be too anxious, maybe he is alright. Bring him back here after his treatment. In the future, be stricter with him and don't let him cause trouble anymore."

Jiang Xiumei nodded and replied with tears in her eyes, "Please help me watch over Xiaoman, she's a very obedient kid. I'll be back in a few days."

The neighbor naturally had no qualms.

Jiang Xiaoman also wanted to go to the hospital, but right now Jiang Xiumei couldn't take care of her. So, she sternly ordered her to stay home and not go anywhere.

There was no other way; all Jiang Xiaoman could do was sit on the doorsill and cry.

She didn't make a ruckus like other kids when she cried. She only shed her tears silently, her thick eyelashes drenched with tears as she sobbed softly. Anyone who saw it would find it really pitiful.

The old neighbour also watched Jiang Xiaoman grow up. She was obedient and pretty; her face was white and delicate as if it was made from jade and adorned with red face powder. No other child in the town looked as good as her. Seeing her cry like this, she also felt distressed and sighed, "Xiaoman, be good, okay? Life in your family will be tougher in the future. Don't make your grandmother angry, understand?"

As she said that, she stuffed a wowotou bun1 to Jiang Xiaoman's hands to comfort her.

Jiang Xiaoman nodded and thanked her.

After she left, Jiang Xiaoman asked the system, "Mr. System, will uncle come back?"

The system was just a system with no emotions, and it answered truthfully. "No."

"But Grandma already went to help him."

The system coldly continued, "Your grandma has taken even her coffin money, but it is still not enough. In the future, life will become more and more difficult, poor and miserable.

Jiang Xiaoman didn't know what coffin money was. She didn't know what difficult times were, and Grandma never complained to her about miserable times.

Jiang Xiaoman's little brain started thinking, and she simply and roughly processed the information. She asked, "If our money is enough, uncle doesn't have to die?"

"It can make him live a little bit longer."

Buying life with money. Relying on science to live a little longer, using the best medical equipment and medicine, of course, it can prolong life.

But, when your time is up, what must die would still die.

Hearing what the system said, Jiang Xiaoman's face immediately lit up and she asked, "Does Mr. System have money?"

"Yes, you can exchange them with points."

The system had money, and within its exchange rate, money was the most "worthless" thing. It was because in the setting, when it was bound to Jiang Xiaoman, she was supposed to have returned to her wealthy family. What she lacked was love and self-esteem, but not money. Right now, for the young villainess, money was just a tool to buy candies. In her mind, money was not as important as candies, so Jiang Xiaoman never thought about exchanging money from the system.

Jiang Xiaoman now knew what to do.

She could exchange points for money, and then her uncle can be saved.

But…

The system quickly poured cold water on her head. "Host, you don't have enough points."

Oh, oh right! She had no points left!

It was very difficult for her to earn points!

Jiang Xiaoman snorted and ran home, not taking the system's words to heart.

She dug through her stash and took out a handful of colourful candies from an iron box. "I'll exchange these candies for points."
