The Hogwarts Express had arrived right on time, as usual, bringing a flood of students pouring into the Great Hall. The Sorting Hat was doing its annual bit with the first-years, and the tables were abuzz with stories of summer holidays. Yet amidst the cheer, a notable absence loomed at the Gryffindor table—Harry and Ron.
Hermione sat between Neville and Seamus, her expression bouncing between worry and irritation. She seemed ready to explode by the time the Sorting concluded. When the doors to the Great Hall opened with a dramatic creak, and the two Gryffindor troublemakers sauntered in, she nearly fainted.
"Harry! Ron!" she whispered furiously, leaning across the table. "Where have you two been?!"
"Er…" Ron scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.
Harry offered a lopsided grin. "Flying."
"Flying?!" Hermione's voice squeaked, drawing a few curious glances.
"Er… yeah," Ron muttered. "We sort of… drove Dad's car here."
Hermione looked like she was about to combust. "You drove a flying car? In the Muggle world? Are you mad?!"
Ron shrugged. "Well, technically, we didn't drive it in the Muggle world that long. Just… over a couple of towns."
"And a railway," Harry added helpfully.
Hermione pressed her hands to her temples, mumbling something about expulsion and breaking the International Statute of Secrecy. She finally calmed down when they share their dentention news .
Meanwhile, I sat with my Ravenclaw mates, catching up on summer tales. Vik had spent the break learning to brew basic potions with his grandmother, while Simon had taken a peculiar interest in wizarding chess strategies, said he would beat ron and win 50 points this time.
Tobi, of course, had a grand story about trying to prank his older sister, only to end up covered in Dungbomb residue for a week.
"Sounds like a productive summer, lads," I said, smirking. "Though I'll admit, none of that tops Harry and Ron flying a car to school."
Josh, skeptic, shook his head. "Flying car or not, if Snape doesn't find a way to make them regret it, I'll eat my wand."
Later, lying in my bed, I pulled out my Grimoire, the three-leaf clover glowing faintly in the dim light of my dormitory. I flipped through the pages, admiring how the spells I'd learned over the past year were neatly recorded within its enchanted leaves.
The beauty of this Grimoire wasn't its design it was its practicality.
Unlike other wizard , who has to flip through dozens of books to find an obscure spell they learned in past, I can access everything I know in an instant. The thought brought a smug smile to my face.
The concept of a Grimoire, as I'd come to understand it, was fascinating. In Black clover, Grimoires reflected the personality and growth of their owner, developing as the mage did. Spells appeared when the owner overcame personal challenges or experienced significant growth.
In my case, my Grimoire didn't adhere to any singular theme—it recorded spells from every branch of magic I studied. While this meant I lacked the hyper-specialization of someone like example Magna from Black Clover who specialize in fire and baseball, it gave me incredible versatility.
I flipped to the section belonging to Charms, where the spells I'd mastered were recorded in neat, flowing script:
Year 1 Charms:
Wingardium Leviosa Levitation Charm
Lumos Illumination Charm
Nox Extinguishing Charm
Reparo (Simple) Minor Repair Charm
Locomotor Mortis Leg-Locker Curse
Rictusempra Tickling Charm
Confundo Confusion Charm
Metelojinx Jelly-Legs Jinx
Obscuro Minor Darkening Charm
Periculum Minor Fire-Making Charm
Year 2
Spell Name Description
Episkey Minor Healing Charm
Glacius Minor Freezing Charm
Incendio Fire-Making Charm
Locomotor Mortis (Advanced) Leg-Locker Curse (Enhanced Control)
Mobiliarbus Moving Objects Charm
Orbis Minor Shielding Charm
Repello Inimicum Minor Repelling Charm
Scourgify Cleaning Charm
Stupefy (Basic) Stunning Spell (Rudimentary)
Wingardium Leviosa (Advanced) Levitation Charm (Precise Control)
Not to mention the ghost-related spells I'd researched:
Ghost-Related Spells:
Exoriflamma (Repelling Flames)
Silentius Phasma (Silencing Wails)
Spectra Tenebra (Binding Ghosts)
Claustrum Animarum (Sealing Spirits)
The knowledge I'd accumulated felt almost tangible as I ran my fingers over the Grimoire's pages.
Looking ahead, my goal was clear: keep learning. Hermione would no doubt tear through the Year 2 curriculum faster than anyone, but I wasn't far ahead. By Christmas, I intended to have most of Year 3 and 4 spells mastered.
As for the Grimoire itself... I couldn't shake the feeling that its true potential was still hidden. Most of the pages were still blank, waiting for me to grow, to face challenges, and to push myself further.
I closed the Grimoire and set it on my nightstand, smiling to myself. "Here's to another year of magical mayhem."
