As I woke up to the sound of crashing and banging from the lower floor, I groaned, rubbing my temples. "What now? The Mewtwo escaped from the lab and decided to destroy the place or something?" I muttered sarcastically, trying to shake off the sleep.
It was my second day in the Pokémon world, and honestly, I wasn't expecting chaos so early in the morning. I glanced around my room, but something immediately felt off. My bag,RotomDex and Aria were nowhere to be seen.
Frowning, I bolted out of bed, my mind racing. (Great, did someone break in? Is this what they call 'starter's bad luck'?) Without wasting another second, I sprinted down the stairs, preparing for the worst.
What I saw when I reached the first floor stopped me in my tracks, my emotions caught between anger and amusement.
RotomDex was zipping wildly around the room, shouting excitedly, while Aria—my Ralts—was in the middle of what could only be described as a disaster zone. The table was overturned, the contents of my bag scattered across the floor, and a pile of berries (which I didn't even know I had) was neatly stacked in one corner.
"[Good morning, Alex Carter! Isn't this the coolest way to start the day? Look at Aria, she's so resourceful! She organized all your stuff in her own way, hehehe!]" RotomDex chirped, dodging a small burst of fairy energy that Ralts casually threw its way.
"Aria!" I snapped, glaring at her. She froze mid-motion, her small hands clutching one of my potions. Her head tilted, and she gave me an innocent look, as if to say, What did I do wrong?
"Don't give me that look," I said, pinching the bridge of my nose. "What in the world are you two doing? And why is my bag in pieces on the floor?"
Aria blinked, then pointed to the pile of berries, looking quite proud of herself. RotomDex zipped closer to me. "[She's been busy, Alex Carter! She found berries outside, brought them in, and even started organizing your bag! Isn't she amazing?]"
I stared at the mess, my anger slowly dissipating as I sighed. "Amazing isn't the word I'd use," I muttered, though I couldn't help but smile a little. "She's got energy, I'll give her that."
Aria, clearly picking up on my softened tone, gave a small cheer and resumed her 'organizing,' while RotomDex buzzed around like an overenthusiastic commentator.
"Next time," I said, crouching down to gather my scattered belongings, "just wake me up before you decide to redecorate, okay?"
Aria gave me a sheepish nod, and I chuckled despite myself before looking around,I turned my gaze toward the kitchen, and my jaw nearly dropped. If I thought the living room was bad, the kitchen was a complete disaster. Broken plates were scattered across the floor, the toaster was somehow lodged in the sink, and the fridge door was wide open, its contents spilling out like an overturned cart.
I groaned, running a hand through my already messy hair, still half-asleep. "Don't tell me Aria did this too," I muttered, shooting a glance at the mischievous Ralts, who immediately looked away, feigning innocence.
Before I could direct my frustration further, RotomDex zipped in front of me, its screen lighting up with an apologetic face.
"[Don't get mad at us, Alex Carter! It wasn't Aria this time, I swear! I was just... uh... testing what I can transform into!]"
I stared at it blankly. "Transform? What are you even talking about?"
"[Your machines! They're so funny and cool, I couldn't resist! Did you know I can fit into a blender and be a steel type? Oh, and the microwave with fire type! That one made me feel super warm and toasty!]"
I rubbed my temples, trying to process the absurdity of the situation. "So, let me get this straight. You thought it'd be a good idea to possess every kitchen appliance you could find… and this is the result?"
RotomDex zipped back a little, clearly sensing my growing irritation. "[It was for science! I wanted to see how cool I could be, Alex Carter! I didn't think the toaster would freak out when I tried to zap it… or that the fridge would, uh, fight back when I went inside.]"
I blinked. "The fridge… fought back?"
"[Well, kind of. It slammed its door shut when I tried to leave, but I'm too quick for it! Hehehe!]"
I sighed, staring at the mess. "Great. My house has officially become a circus, and it's only my second day here."
Aria gave a small giggle from the corner, clearly amused by my exasperation. I shot her a mock glare. "Don't encourage him," I said, pointing at RotomDex.
RotomDex floated closer, its tone turning slightly apologetic. "[I'm sorry, Alex Carter. I didn't mean to cause trouble. I'll help you clean up! Well, Aria can do the heavy lifting, right?]"
Aria tilted her head, clearly unamused by being volunteered, but I waved them both off. "You know what? You two just stay here while I take a shower. This house isn't even mine, and honestly, I don't think we'll be back here for a long time anyway," I said, rubbing the back of my neck and sighing.
[Okay, Alex Carter, we will try,]
RotomDex replied, its usual energetic tone tinged with mock seriousness. It zipped around the room before settling near Aria, who nodded with her small, purple head in agreement.
Aria tilted her head slightly, her soft, glowing eyes watching me as if trying to figure out what "staying put" even meant. I raised an eyebrow at her but decided to let it slide.
"Good. Don't destroy anything else, alright? I mean it," I added, narrowing my eyes at the two of them.
[No promises, but we'll try!] RotomDex chirped, and Aria gave a tiny, almost mischievous smile.
I shook my head, already regretting leaving them alone, but there wasn't much I could do about it. As I walked toward my room to grab some clothes, I could hear RotomDex mumbling something about "cool trainers" and "how much fun it is to transform."
"Why do I feel like I'll come back to an even bigger mess?" I muttered to myself as I opened the door to my room.
Stepping into my new room, I scanned it quickly, searching for something decent to wear both for now and for my journey. The room was surprisingly tidy compared to the chaos downstairs, with a small wardrobe against the wall and a neatly made bed. At least this part of the house wasn't a complete disaster.
"Hey, can I use the inventory to carry everything I need?" I muttered, half to myself and half hoping for a response.
After a brief pause, the familiar red window appeared in front of me:
[NEW MISSION: TAKE A SHOWER]
[REWARD: INVENTORY WILL BE ABLE TO CARRY ANY NON-LIVING THING]
I raised an eyebrow. "I guess it really does understand what I want," I said, shaking my head with a smirk. It was a little weird how specific the system was, but I wasn't about to complain if it gave me an upgrade.
After rummaging through the wardrobe and picking out some simple clothes—a plain black shirt and dark gray pants—I started searching for the shower. The layout of the house was still unfamiliar to me, and it took a bit of wandering before I finally found it.
Stepping into the small bathroom, I locked the door behind me and began undressing. As I peeled off the last of my clothes, I caught sight of myself in the mirror.
"This body is pretty jacked, you know," I said, half-jokingly, as I examined my reflection. My abs were well-defined, my arms toned, and overall, this new body looked like it belonged to someone who'd spent years training. "Guess there's at least one perk to getting isekai'd."
I turned on the shower, letting the water heat up as steam began to fill the room. Standing under the spray, I let the warm water wash away the exhaustion of the past couple of days.
As I stood there, my mind wandered to RotomDex. Could it really function as a Battle Pokémon if I needed it to? It had shown it could possess machines and change its typing. That kind of versatility could be a game-changer in a pinch.
"Guess I'll need to test that out at some point," I muttered, closing my eyes as the water cascaded over me.
For now, though, I had to focus on the immediate tasks ahead—getting to Viridian City, figuring out how to handle the gym challenges and so on.
As I stepped out of the shower, a wave of calm washed over me, leaving me feeling refreshed and ready to face the chaos waiting downstairs. I grabbed the black shirt and matching black pants I'd picked out earlier, their snug fit emphasizing the lean, athletic build of my new body.
Catching my reflection in the bathroom mirror, I took a moment to examine the teen staring back at me. Scarlet-red eyes stood out sharply against my jet-black hair, giving me a striking, almost otherworldly appearance.
"I look like Chris Evans," I joked under my breath, smirking at the thought. "Though, let's be real—nobody's actually on his level."
Shaking off the moment of vanity, I unlocked the bathroom door and stepped out, the muffled sounds of what could only be described as trouble reaching my ears from downstairs.
I chose to ignore the ruckus for now, focusing on getting myself organized. Entering the room, I walked over to the wardrobe and threw it open, surveying its contents. Without hesitation, I began pulling out every piece of clothing I could find—shirts, pants, jackets, even socks and underwear—and methodically stowing them away into the inventory.
The system made the process surprisingly easy. As soon as I touched an item, it disappeared into the void-like storage space, leaving the wardrobe empty within minutes.
"This is way too convenient," I muttered, closing the now-bare wardrobe doors with a soft click. With everything packed and ready for the journey ahead, I turned my attention back to the inevitable disaster brewing downstairs.
"Alright, time to see what those two troublemakers have gotten themselves into now," I said, bracing myself for the chaos as I headed for the stairs.
Before closing the wardrobe, something caught my eye—a long red coat and a matching red hat tucked away in the corner.
They were... cool. That was my first thought as I reached out and ran my fingers along the fabric of the coat. It had a sleek, almost regal design, with black accents on the cuffs and collar that gave it an edge of sophistication. The hat, a wide-brimmed design with a subtle curve, completed the look perfectly.
Without hesitation, I pulled the coat off the hanger and slid it on. It was long enough to fall just above my ankles, its weight resting comfortably on my shoulders. I adjusted the fit, making sure it didn't hinder my movement. As I grabbed the hat and placed it on my head, I couldn't help but glance at myself in the mirror again.
The combination of the scarlet-red coat and hat, paired with my black shirt and pants, made for a striking image. It was the perfect blend of style and intimidation after looking at mirror once again ı talked making my voice deeper, "Don't mess with me."
"That was so.... edgy, this body is changing my mind into a teens mind" I murmured to myself while also smirking at the transformation. I tilted the hat slightly forward for added flair, then turned back to the wardrobe.
With everything I needed packed into the inventory and my new outfit making me feel more ready than ever, I took one last glance at the mirror before heading toward the stairs.
"Let's see how much of the house those two have managed to destroy now," I said, my voice carrying a mix of exasperation and amusement as I prepared to face whatever chaos awaited me.
As I quietly observed from the stairs, I paused to take in the scene unfolding below. Aria and Rotom were engaged in what looked like a sparring match rather than a serious battle. Despite her efforts, it was clear Rotom was dominating—not just with its moves but with its strategy.
"[Now, Aria, use Double Team and follow up with Disarming Voice!]" Rotom's voice echoed with enthusiasm as it called out commands.
Aria growled in determination, summoning a duplicate of herself before releasing a wave of sound toward Rotom. The move, Disarming Voice, was weak fairy type move with 40 base power but tricky to avoid since it never missed.
Rotom, however, was quick to react. It darted around the room, grabbing a few books from a nearby desk to shield itself from the attack. I couldn't help but smirk at the clever improvisation.
"Smart move," I murmured under my breath, impressed despite myself.
The books absorbed the brunt of the sound, and as the move dissipated, Rotom zipped around, scanning for an opening. Spotting a blind spot in Aria's positioning, it shot behind her in an instant, its speed leaving her no time to react. A sharp burst of electricity erupted as Rotom unleashed Thunderbolt, dispelling the duplicate.
Before Aria could retaliate, Rotom followed up with Thunder Wave, the paralyzing jolt locking her movements.
Aria staggered slightly, her small frame trembling under the effects of paralysis. Yet, even in her weakened state, I could see the resolve burning in her eyes. She wasn't about to give up, and RotomDex seemed to notice it too.
The match wasn't over, but it was clear Rotom had the upper hand. Still, I could see that this wasn't just a battle—it was training, a way for both of them to grow stronger.
I leaned against the railing, a faint smile tugging at my lips. This team... maybe they're not so bad after all.
Deciding to step in, I straightened up and descended the last few steps, my boots echoing lightly against the wooden floor.
"All right, you two," I said, my tone calm but firm, "that's enough for now. Save some energy for when we're actually out in the wild."
Both of them froze mid-action, their gazes snapping toward me. RotomDex's screen lit up in excitement, while Aria managed a weak but determined growl, still paralyzed but not backing down.
Yeah, they'll do just fine, I thought as I stepped closer.
