Seeing that the soldiers they had sent out were taking too long to respond, the vigilant guards immediately organized a force of over five hundred men and marched toward the cliff. The sound of battle cries shattered the silence in an instant.

More than three hundred guards surged toward the peak of the cliff from both ends, their war cries deafening, breaking the last moments of calm before dawn.

The Blood Dragon Guards stood firm like unshakable fortresses, waiting for the enemy to approach.

As soon as the two sides clashed in close combat, the battle turned fierce, with blood splattering and screams filling the air.

One Blood Dragon Guard raised his longsword high, then swung it fiercely. The wind of the blade howled as it sliced through a guard's body, severing him at the waist. Blood sprayed out, and his internal organs spilled onto the ground.

Another Blood Dragon Guard swiftly sidestepped, avoiding a spear thrust, then retaliated with a swift slash that severed the enemy's arm. The severed limb flew through the air, accompanied by a piercing scream from the guard.

Yet another Blood Dragon Guard charged into the enemy lines, his swordsmanship ruthless. Each strike carried the force of a thousand pounds. He lunged forward, stabbing his sword directly through a guard's chest, then jerked it up, sending the body flying through the air.

Before the surrounding enemies could react, the Blood Dragon Guard swung his sword horizontally, decapitating an enemy with a single stroke. Blood poured out like a fountain.

The attacking guards, fully aware that failure here would mean certain defeat, fought with blind rage. They surged forward like a tidal wave, charging relentlessly. Even in the face of the Blood Dragon Guards' overwhelming strength, they showed no signs of retreat.

In the midst of this fierce battle, the Blood Dragon Guard who had charged into the enemy lines, surrounded by a dozen guards and fighting with reckless abandon, eventually found himself overwhelmed.

His body was riddled with wounds, and as his magical energy drained, the enemy struck the fatal blow, severing his head. Soon after, several other Blood Dragon Guards fell as well.

Gavin watched from a distance, continuously launching fire arrows at the enemy while silently lamenting the loss of his Blood Dragon Guards. Despite their invincibility, it seemed they were not impervious to death.

By this point, the number of fallen guards had surpassed half. Under the relentless barrage of Gavin's fire arrows and the Blood Dragon Guards' brutal assault, the remaining enemy forces began to crumble.

Terrified, they watched the bloodbath unfold before them but were powerless to stop the overwhelming might of the Blood Dragon Guards.

Meanwhile, the fleet that had yet to engage in battle successfully reached the harbor and began docking. Countless soldiers jumped off the warships, gathering at the docks, while large ships, still off in the distance, lowered smaller boats to carry even more soldiers toward the island.

With more and more soldiers arriving at the docks, the defenders atop the cliff finally broke. Gavin seized the opportunity and ordered the Blood Dragon Guards to pursue.

The top of the cliff was now thick with the stench of blood. The ground was littered with mangled limbs and blood-soaked weapons, and pools of blood had formed into small streams, slowly trickling through the cracks in the stone.

Standing amidst the carnage, Gavin surveyed the horizon as the rising sun appeared in the distance, a victorious smile spreading across his face.

In the city, the remaining members of the Saan family gathered together, their faces grim and filled with despair. They looked out at the waiting army beyond the city walls, knowing that resistance was futile.

In the end, the head of the family, Salladhor Saan, let out a long sigh, his voice heavy with helplessness and reluctance. "Send a messenger to them. Tell them I will open the gates and surrender, but they must guarantee the safety of my family members."

Soon, Gavin met the messenger holding the white chess piece. After understanding the messenger's intentions, he agreed to the request.

The heavy city gates slowly creaked open, and Gavin's army marched steadily into the city. The sound of soldiers' footsteps echoed through the silent streets, signaling the change in ownership of the island.

Gavin only made a brief tour of the city, ordering the soldiers to guard the prisoners and seal important locations, like the warehouses for inventory. Afterward, he took all the members of the Sann family and headed toward the Belleris, the ship docked at the harbor.

When Gavin returned aboard the Belleris, his steps were firm and confident, his eyes reflecting the pride of a victor.

The three envoys from the Daughters' Kingdom stood to the side, their expressions a mix of shock, anger, and unmistakable fear as they watched Gavin boarding the ship.

A faint smile curved at the corner of Gavin's lips as he walked toward the envoys. Upon reaching them, he gestured toward the Lys envoy, signaling for him to look behind.

The soldiers then marched forward, escorting around ten prisoners, including women and children. At the forefront was Salladhor Saan.

Gavin's gaze swept over the prisoners before speaking to the envoy from Lys: "These are the members of the Saan family. I've heard that their fleet is currently visiting Lys. When you return, could you kindly deliver a message to them? That their families are currently guests on Bloodstone Island, so they needn't worry about them."

The Lys envoy's eyes widened in disbelief, his teeth gritted in anger as his jaw trembled with fury. He glared at Gavin, squeezing out words between clenched teeth: "Thank you for your kindness, Sir Gavin. I'll make sure to inform our governor of the situation here."

Gavin was unfazed and chuckled lightly. "Then I'll leave it to you. I'm sure the governor will understand the situation and its stakes." With that, Gavin turned and walked away, paying no more attention to the envoy.

At that moment, the sea breeze blew across, tousling everyone's hair, but it couldn't dispel the tense, oppressive atmosphere. Salladhor Saan's face was full of despair, while the women and children wept softly. The soldiers behind Gavin stood in grim silence, on high alert.

In the underground vault, Gavin sat on the throne, his fingers tracing the dragon bone as he absorbed the magical energy within it. His gaze was calm as he watched Hassan instruct the soldiers to systematically store the spoils inside the vault.

His thoughts wandered to the recently captured Salladhor Saan. If his memory served him correctly, this man was the pirate captain hired by Stannis in the future during the War of the Five Kings.

Unknowingly, he had already made some changes to the future. He wondered who Stannis would hire now—could it be me? Gavin couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.

At that moment, Hassan hurried over and, after a respectful bow, began to report on the spoils of the battle: "My lord, we have made great gains. There were no casualties among our soldiers. We have captured countless supplies, food, and various rare jewels and spices. However, there wasn't much gold dragons—less than thirty thousand."

Upon hearing this, Gavin sighed. "It seems that before the war began, the Saan family distributed the money to their soldiers, so they could buy houses in Bloodstone Town. Don't mistreat them, but make sure they are watched. No one is to leave Bloodstone Town without my command."

Hassan bowed deeply. "Understood, my lord. I will make arrangements as soon as we return."
