He was so startled that his hand went limp, and the wooden box dropped to the ground, causing Black Shark 'Erl's' severed head to roll out. The pirate captains standing behind Todd also turned pale, fear and shock spreading across their faces.

With a sudden, violent motion, Iron Hook "Todd" drew his sword, his eyes wide with rage and bloodshot from fury. He stared at Gavin warily and shouted, "Who exactly are you?"

Gavin, observing Todd's cautious stance, answered coldly, "I am Gavin Belleris. From this day forward, I am your new Lord. Kneel down, and I'll spare your life."

Standing tall, Gavin's eyes burned with an unwavering intensity, his voice firm and commanding. The sea breeze fluttered his cloak, adding an air of power to his already imposing figure.

Iron Hook "Todd" stared at him, wide-eyed, disbelief and rage etched across his face. His hand trembled slightly around the sword as he struggled to process the situation.

Todd's heart raced wildly, his mind working at lightning speed. As he stared at the unfamiliar, oppressive figure of Gavin, a deep sense of resentment and a burning desire for power surged within him.

"Erl is dead just like that? No, this can't be possible! I've fought tooth and nail for him on this island, and now he's met such an end. Hmph, if that's the case, why should I bow to some unknown man who just appeared out of nowhere? If I kill him, I can become the new pirate lord and take control of everything!"

Todd's grip on his sword tightened, his eyes growing more vicious as he imagined himself rising to the pinnacle of power.

At the same time, he knew the situation was extremely dangerous. Gavin had dared to approach with such arrogance, which meant he must be well-prepared. Still, the temptation of power drove Todd to risk it all, even at the cost of his life.

With his decision made, Todd quickly glanced at the ships unable to dock due to the overcrowded pier.

He saw that they had lowered small boats and were slowly making their way to shore, though it would take some time for them to land.

Then, his gaze shifted to Gavin and his thirty-some men. On the dock, Todd had nearly a hundred pirates at his command.

With these advantages in mind, Todd quickly retreated, shouting orders as he moved. "Kill them! Avenger the Lord!"

He grabbed a nearby pirate captain by the arm, urgently saying, "You, go! Get everyone on the island and bring them here!"

Todd's eyes were bloodshot, his forehead vein bulging with intensity. His twisted expression seemed to signal that he wanted to devour Gavin and his men alive.

The pirate captain, momentarily stunned, quickly regained his senses, nodded, and sprinted toward the island to gather reinforcements. Meanwhile, the other pirates, hearing the command, rushed at Gavin and his men like wolves, howling for revenge. The entire dock erupted into chaos and uproar.

As the pirates charged forward, claws bared and teeth gnashing, Gavin stood firm, unmoving, like a mountain. Behind him, the Blood Dragon Guards sprang into action, swift as lightning.

The Blood Dragon Guards moved in perfect unison, cold and efficient. Their weapons slashed through the pirates' bodies mercilessly, each strike bringing devastation. With just a light touch, the pirates crumbled like fragile stalks of wheat, their cries and the sound of bodies hitting the ground echoing all around.

At that moment, over a hundred soldiers swiftly descended from the sailing warship behind Gavin, armed with sharp blades.

They shouted as they joined the fray, further throwing the battle into utter chaos, the sounds of screams and clashing metal filling the air.

Iron Hook "Todd" had retreated to the back of the battlefield, his face ashen. Still, he continued to yell, 'Hold them off! Reinforcements will be here soon!' However, his calls were in vain. The pirates' collapse couldn't be stopped.

At this moment, chaos engulfed the pirate camp near the dock as numerous pirates, armed with weapons, charged out. Following Iron Hook Todd's hoarse and furious commands, they surged forward like a tidal wave, joining the fray.

As the small boats gradually approached the shore, the men aboard quickly leapt off, brandishing sharp blades as they rushed to kill.

However, the Blood Dragon Guards remained as fierce as ever, cutting through the pirates with unmatched ferocity, leaving behind only the echoes of enemy screams and the spatter of blood in their wake.

At this point, the tide of the battle had already shifted in Gavin's favor. With the brutal attacks from the Blood Dragon Guards and the powerful impact of the reinforcements, the pirates—caught off guard—found their resistance increasingly futile.

Soon, the battle ended in an overwhelming victory for Gavin's side. The battlefield was littered with the bodies of pirates, sprawled in every direction, and the dock was stained red with blood.

Gavin stood amidst the carnage, his gaze unwavering. He knew that this was just the beginning of his path to dominance.

Two Blood Dragon Guard members twisted Iron Hook "Todd"'s arms and dragged him before Gavin. Hassan, standing at the front, ordered loudly for all the surrendered pirates to lift their heads.

At this moment, a fiery blaze suddenly erupted from the longsword in Gavin's hand, the flames illuminating his cold face, adding an air of even greater authority.

Without hesitation, he swung his sword downward, and with a swift motion, Iron Hook "Todd" was cleaved in half. Blood sprayed from his body, staining the ground beneath them.

The gruesome and brutal scene made everyone present gasp in horror, and a deep sense of fear spread like a shadow through the hearts of all the pirates.

The sight of Gavin's fiery sword and his ruthless methods rendered the surrendering pirates utterly silent. Their legs gave way, and they dropped to their knees, trembling uncontrollably, heads bowed, too afraid to lift them.

Gavin's piercing gaze swept over the kneeling pirates as he spoke harshly, "From now on, I am your Lord. Anyone who dares to defy me will meet the same fate!" His voice echoed across the empty dock, an irresistible decree that filled the pirates' hearts with reverence and obedience."

After the battlefield was cleared, Gavin ordered that all prisoners be boarded onto the ship, along with the vessels from the island, and they set sail in a grand procession toward Shipbreaker Bay.

In the captain's cabin, Gavin listened to Hassan's report. Hassan bowed slightly and said, "My lord, we've captured over 300 pirates in this battle, and the spoils are substantial, amounting to roughly 20,000 gold dragons' worth of goods, including food and weapons—enough to fill three longships. We lost 50 men, 15 of whom are severely wounded, and the lightly wounded have not been tallied yet."

Gavin sat in his chair, tapping his fingers lightly on the table, his gaze deep as he pondered the next steps in his plan.

Outside the window, the sea breeze blew, causing the ship's sails to flap loudly. Gavin stood and walked to the window, gazing out at the vast expanse of the sea. "Do you have any suggestions for the next target?"

Hassan straightened his posture and, after a moment of thought, replied, "My lord, if I may, I suggest we set our sights on Bloodstone Island to the east. The terrain there is complex, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack. It has long been a coveted location for many forces, and it is one of only two islands in the Stepstones, along with Grey Gallows Island, that have a large population. If we can take it, not only will we expand our army, but we can also use its unique geography to defend against potential threats from all directions."
