Chapter 4 - chapter 3

**Primal Wild: Chapter 3 - The Frozen Frontier**

The sunlight streamed through Lucas's bedroom window as he put on his headset and logged into *Primal Wild*. The immersive world loaded in seconds, and he once again found himself in the body of Rye, his Pallas cat avatar. The familiar chill of the snow mountain biome greeted him as he emerged from the rocky cave that had served as his shelter.

"Time to explore," Lucas said with a grin, Rye's whiskers twitching in the cold air.

### **Venturing Deeper**

Rye padded cautiously through the snow, guided by Lucas toward uncharted areas on the map. The terrain grew steeper, with jagged rocks jutting out of the icy slopes. Occasionally, the snow gave way to patches of exposed rock, where the wind had swept it clear.

Lucas noticed faint tracks in the snow—elongated prints resembling those of a large feline. A tooltip appeared:

**Tracks: Evidence of a nearby predator. Follow to discover new challenges or resources.**

"Looks like someone's been busy," Lucas muttered. He decided to follow the tracks, keeping Rye's movements cautious with **Silent Step**.

The trail led to a secluded glade surrounded by sheer cliffs. In the center stood a majestic creature resembling a snow leopard, its fur shimmering with an ethereal glow. Its tooltip read:

**Frostfang Leopard: Elite Predator. Highly aggressive. Approach with caution.**

Lucas hesitated. "Yeah, let's not fight that... yet."

Instead, he circled the area, observing the leopard's behavior. He marked the location on his map, noting its potential for future hunts or challenges once Rye was stronger.

### **Discovering the Icefall Caverns**

As Rye continued his journey, Lucas noticed a faint glimmer in the distance, where sunlight reflected off something crystalline. Following the light, he stumbled upon the entrance to a hidden cave system carved into the mountain.

A tooltip appeared:

**Icefall Caverns: A network of frozen tunnels filled with unique resources and dangers. Recommended Level: 5+.**

Lucas couldn't resist the lure of exploration. Guiding Rye inside, he activated **Night Vision**, illuminating the caverns in shades of green and blue. The ice walls sparkled like gemstones, and the faint sound of dripping water echoed through the tunnels.

---

### **Cave Resources and Challenges**

Inside the caverns, Lucas discovered various resources:

- **Glacial Herbs:** A rare plant that restores both HP and SP when consumed.

- **Ice Shards:** A resource used for relic enhancements or constructing defensive structures in shelters.

While collecting these items, Rye triggered a small avalanche of ice crystals, and from the debris emerged an aggressive creature resembling a wolf made entirely of frost.

**Frost Wolf Pup: Aggressive. Weak to swift melee attacks.**

Lucas cursed under his breath. Without advanced abilities, the fight would be tough. He relied on **Silent Step** to evade the wolf's lunges and countered with **Claw Swipe** and **Bite**. Though the wolf's icy bites reduced Rye's HP, Lucas managed to outmaneuver it.

The wolf dissolved into shards of ice upon defeat, leaving behind loot:

- **Icy Essence (Relic Material)**

- **Frozen Meat (Cooking Ingredient)**

"Definitely worth the risk," Lucas said, using a Glacial Herb to heal Rye before venturing further.

---

### **A Hidden Chamber**

Deeper in the caverns, Rye stumbled upon a massive frozen door etched with intricate patterns. A tooltip appeared:

**Ancient Ice Gate: Requires a specific relic key to open. Contains high-level loot and enemies.**

Lucas marked the location on his map. "Another goal for later. At least I know where to find it."

Before leaving the caverns, Rye discovered a small alcove containing an old, frozen cooking station. A tooltip appeared:

**Cooking Station: Prepare food to enhance its effects. Requires firewood and meat.**

Lucas combined the Frozen Meat with firewood he'd scavenged earlier and cooked a simple dish.

**Dish Cooked: Frostbite Stew**

- **Effect:** Restores 30 HP and grants minor cold resistance for 10 minutes.

"Finally, something better than raw meat," Lucas muttered, storing the stew in his inventory.

---

### **The Call of the Summit**

After leaving the caverns, Lucas guided Rye toward the higher slopes of the mountain. The air grew thinner, and the terrain became more treacherous. As Rye climbed, Lucas noticed changes in the environment—fewer trees, stronger winds, and a clearer view of the distant landscape.

In the distance, he spotted a shimmering blue light at the summit. A tooltip appeared:

**Skyspire Crystal: A rare artifact said to enhance abilities temporarily. Approach with caution.**

"Looks like that's my next destination," Lucas decided, marking it on his map.

### **Status Check and Logout**

As the day drew to a close, Lucas checked Rye's updated stats after a full day of exploration and combat:

**Name:** Rye

**Race:** Pallas Cat

**Level:** 4

**HP:** 60/60

**MP:** 20/20

**SP:** 50/50

**STR:** 8

**AGI:** 12

**INT:** 6

Satisfied with his progress, Lucas guided Rye back to the cave. He activated the logout feature, and the virtual world faded to black.

Removing the headset, Lucas stretched and leaned back in his chair. "One step closer to mastering this biome," he said, already planning his next adventure.
