Chapter 1 - New beginning

The night was heavy, the streets were quiet, and the world felt as lifeless as Jake's existence. He walked slowly, his shoulders hunched, his steps dragging against the gravel as if he was carrying the weight of all his sorrows.

His life had been a tragic tale since the day he was born. His mother had died during childbirth, and his father, unable to bear the pain, followed her soon after. The villagers whispered behind his back, calling him cursed, a child of misfortune. For twenty years, Jake endured ridicule, neglect, and suffering.

"This life is just so damn cruel," Jake muttered, his voice hoarse. "Everything about it... everyone in it... worthless."

Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice he had wandered into the middle of the road. The faint hum of an engine roared closer, its sound growing deafening.

**BAM!**

The truck struck him like a hammer, sending his fragile body hurtling through the air like a discarded rag doll. Blood stained the pavement as he landed with a sickening thud. The truck sped off without a trace, leaving him crumpled on the ground.

Jake's vision blurred as he lay there, staring at the vast, indifferent sky. "So this is it," he whispered, his voice trembling. "Is this all I'll ever be? A cursed, pitiful existence... nothing more?" Tears streamed down his face, mixing with the rain that began to pour as if the heavens themselves mourned his demise.

"I wish... I wish I had a second chance. A life where I wasn't at the bottom. A life where I mattered." His voice broke, and with one final gasp, his consciousness faded.

---

Jake opened his eyes.

The sensation was strange—he felt weightless, as if he were floating in a void. The world around him was no longer familiar. A crimson expanse stretched infinitely in all directions, its eerie silence pressing down on him.

"Where... am I?" Jake muttered, his voice echoing unnaturally. Memories of his death flashed in his mind, and panic seized him.

"Am I... dead?"

"Yes, you are," boomed a thunderous voice that reverberated through the void.

Jake froze, his eyes darting around frantically. "Who's there?" he stammered, his voice trembling.

"I am the Great Dragon God," the voice declared. Suddenly, a massive figure emerged from the void, its scales shimmering like molten lava, its eyes blazing like twin suns. The dragon's presence was overwhelming—majestic, terrifying, and awe-inspiring all at once.

"A... a dragon?" Jake whispered, his knees threatening to give out. "Are you here to punish me?"

The dragon chuckled, its deep rumble shaking the void. "No, Jake. I am not here to harm you. In fact, I am here to offer you a choice—a proposal."

Jake's fear subsided, replaced by confusion. A proposal? He barely had time to process the events of his death, and now this?

"What... kind of proposal?" Jake asked cautiously.

The dragon leaned closer, its golden eyes locking onto Jake's. "I am here to grant you a new life. A life where you will not merely exist, but thrive. A world where you will hold power and prestige, where you will shape your destiny and carve your name into legend."

Jake's heart raced. "A new life?" he whispered. "You mean... not the miserable, cursed existence I just left behind?"

"No," the dragon replied solemnly. "This life will be unlike anything you've ever known. You will be reborn as the prince of a kingdom—a kingdom ruled by the Queen of Mages. You will inherit a legacy of power and potential, and to aid you, I will grant you a system. This system will guide you, grant you abilities, and grow stronger with you as you journey through this new world."

Jake's mind whirled. A system? Like the ones from the fantasy stories he used to read? It sounded too good to be true.

"But why?" he asked, suspicion creeping into his voice. "Why me? I'm just... nothing. A failure."

The dragon's gaze softened. "Even the most broken souls can rise to greatness when given the chance. And you, Jake, have a fire within you—a fire that even you do not see yet. Will you seize this opportunity, or will you let it pass, remaining a forgotten whisper in the void?"

Jake's thoughts raced back to his old life—the hunger, the scorn, the endless nights spent wondering why he was even alive. And now, here he was, being offered a chance to rewrite everything.

"I... I'll do it," Jake said, his voice trembling but resolute. "I'll take the chance. I'll take the system. I don't want to be that weak, worthless person anymore."

The dragon smiled, a fearsome yet strangely comforting sight. "Good. But know this, Jake—the path ahead will not be easy. You will face trials, enemies, and choices that will test your very soul. But if you endure, you will find your place in this new world. A place of power, respect, and fulfillment."

The crimson void began to shift, the air crackling with energy. The dragon'

s form started to fade, its voice echoing one last time.

"Good luck Jake, May your new beginning lead you to greatness .

As the void around him dissolves into light, Jake felt a surge of excitement and determination .

"This is my second chance". He whispered. "My new beginningÂ
