Chapter 4 - Chapter Four: The Binding of Fate

The incident that happened to them the day before yesterday is still fresh in their memory. The remnants of the destruction caused by the Kaelion magic explosion were still clearly visible in that simple house. All the damaged furniture and rooms have been repaired thanks to Arden and Lyanna. However, the hearts of both partners instead showed reactions full of worry and questions.

They looked at their baby lying in the simple cradle. The small body of Kaelion looked weak and stiff. However, the mark on his shoulder showed the opposite reaction. A force that is incredibly powerful.

"Arden... do you think he is truly destined for us?" Lyanna said while stroking Kaelion's hair, her face filled with worry as she recalled the events of yesterday. "Can we guide him properly?" Such great power?" His voice sounded soft but full of affection.

"That's not something we should worry about," said Arden as he tucked his sword into his waist, preparing to embark on a mission at the adventure guild. "We just need to fulfill our responsibilities as parents properly," he said, hoping to ease the worry in his wife's heart. In his mind, Arden himself did not know if he was strong enough to guide his child.

Kaelion, on the other hand, remained silent in the cradle, listening and observing what his parents were saying. His eyes were fixed on his father's equipment with great curiosity.

"I, who was once a king, could protect my entire kingdom. But now, I am just a baby, and you are the ones who will protect me." He chuckled slightly and felt embarrassed by his thoughts.

After Arden's departure, Lyanna, with her beautiful hair, stood ready to do housework. Her hands emitted a stream of blue energy, using that magic to clean the dirty cloth and heat the water.

She also cooked using magic, with knives floating in the air to chop vegetables. It made it easier for Lyanna to keep an eye on Kaelion in that simple cradle.

After a while, Arden returned carrying a medium-sized werewolf on his shoulder. His sword, stained with blood and with a slight wound on his abdomen, indicated that the hunt was not as easy as Kaelion had thought.

"Oh my God… You're hurt again?" Lyanna said worriedly. "Why do you always come home with wounds on your body?" She added, placing her hand on his stomach wound. A green light appeared from the palm of her hand, and the wound healed within moments.

"Don't worry too much; it's just a small scratch," he said while rubbing the spot Lyanna had hidden. "This monster was quite agile; I was a bit careless and got hurt."

In the cradle, Kaelion could be seen watching them with great attention. "My father is a great adventurer, and my mother is an extraordinary healer," he thought. "They are more amazing than I expected."

"I must understand this world more... this magic... and yesterday's explosion might be more useful and powerful compared to the technology in my old world," he thought again.

In the afternoon outside Kaelion's residence, there was Arden practicing his sword. His movements were very strong and agile, slicing through the air with every swing. The sound of a strong impact could be heard every time he struck with all his might. Sweat trickled down his forehead, but he remained calm, reflecting his extensive experience.

Kaelion watched his father practicing through the window of the house. Although still a baby, he watched his father with great curiosity.

"My father's technique is no less impressive than the elite knights from my past life." But it seems there is still room to improve his sword technique," thought Kaelion while observing his father's position.

But with a surprising move, Arden threw a small knife at a tree. The throw moved like lightning and embedded itself exactly at a mark on the tree; the sound of "thuk" echoed.

"Not bad, father, not bad," thought Kaelion. "You may not be as great as I am, but you might become my right-hand man in the previous world."

Kaelion looked at his small body, his smile fading as he thought about it. "This body... weak, I who once could lead millions of soldiers but now can't even walk."

Arden wiped his sweat, then turned towards the window and looked at Kaelion. "Do you see that, son?" "I will teach you later," he said with the pride of a father. "You will become stronger than me one day," he added.

"One day, Father... I will surpass you with this new body." I will conquer everything, even beautiful women. "Get ready," he thought while looking at his father.

"But now I must be patient; this body is weak. Wait until I master the power of Karzakh."

The next morning, fresh air greeted the Raven family's residence. Their routine went on without any problems. Kaelion, like on previous days, was in that simple cradle.

Lyanna looked at her child with affection. After being cooped up for a while, she felt the need to go out for a walk.

"Kaelion," said Lyanna softly. "Today we will go out to see the village while breathing in the fresh air." She added, while wrapping the child's body with a warm cloth, getting ready to go out.

Kaelion, hearing that, felt an urge to go out. He had only seen a small part of this world during his encounter with Karzakh. His mind was filled with what he would see later.

After Lyanna entered the village, Kaelion saw many rows of shops and simple houses there. Many people were busy with their daily tasks. Some residents also greeted them.

"Lyanna, how are you?" said a seller of magical goods.

Lyanna smiled gently. "We are fine, just a bit busy after Kaelion's birth." Thank you, Grandma Greta."

Kaelion looked around from his mother's lap. He saw many daily uses of magic, from small tasks like igniting a fire with a snap of the fingers to making arrows of water float in the air.

"So this is the world of magic..." thought Kaelion. "So different from my previous world, where tools were used to create it. But this magic... is very useful. I need to master it."

After several pleasant conversations with the villagers. Lyanna stopped at an old-looking building. The old door was covered with strange writings and difficult symbols. It was a village library, a place where knowledge was stored.

"We will be here for a while, Kaelion," said Lyanna as she stepped into the building.

Inside, a quiet atmosphere greeted them. The library was accompanied by magical lights scattered throughout. Rows of shelves were filled with thick books, scrolls of spells, and crystals that looked expensive.

A female librarian came out to greet them, smiling at their presence.

"Lyanna, it's been a long time; what brings you here today?" said the woman.

"It's been a long time, Madam Miles," Lyanna greeted with a smile. "I just came to look for some books that I can read to my child at bedtime."

When Lyanna was looking for books, Kaelion, who was being carried by his mother, suddenly felt his body heat up. His eyes quickly scanned the surroundings and ended up seeing a book on a distant shelf that was about to topple over. The shelf was different from the others.

A book on that shelf emitted a faint light, as if it were calling to him.

"This... what is this?Thought Kaelion."

Suddenly, the power within Kaelion seemed to pull the book towards him, and without realizing it, the book flew towards Lyanna and Kaelion. The three of them were shocked by the incident.

"What happened?" Madam Miles asked.

"I don't know; a book flew towards us at lightning speed," replied Lyanna while trying to grab the book.

Lyanna looked at the book with great attention. It was a very old book, with a black cover engraved with symbols and ancient writing.

Lyanna tried to open the book out of curiosity, but something strange happened. The book opened its pages by itself, with the writing inside glowing. Lyanna and Madam Miles did not understand the writing.

Unlike Kaelion, this book he could understand even though he didn't know the writing. "This book...reacts to me." Is this because of Karzakh's power?"Is this caused by the power of Karzakh?" Madam Miles approached, her eyes filled with curiosity and suspicion. "What book is this?"

Madam Miles approached, her eyes filled with curiosity and suspicion. "What book is this?" "I don't ever remember having this book in my library."

Lyanna decided to take that book and a few others. After saying goodbye, Kaelion kept looking at the book on his way home.

"What book is this?" Why did it react to me? I will read it after I get home.
