White walls, white floors, and white drape over the floor to ceiling window overlooking the view of the dark yet brightly lit colorful city. The room was wide yet simple. A huge screen in front of a coffee table and a couch. No personal belongings and the clear scent of alcohol in the air yet vibrant flowers surround a bed covering the sanitized scent.
On the hospital bed was a handsome man in his thirties that looked more like a divine painting than a mortal.
His sharp, chiseled features spoke of perfection crafted by the hands of fate itself. High cheekbones framed a straight, aristocratic nose, and his jawline was sharp enough to cast shadows. His skin was smooth and pale, unmarred by time, with a faint golden undertone that hinted at a vitality undimmed despite his current state.
Thick lashes, long and dark, rested against his cheeks, a stark contrast to the faint pallor of his skin. His lips, naturally full and slightly curved, held the barest hint of color, as if untouched by the illness that kept him confined. Even in repose, they seemed to hold secrets, as though ready to quirk into a smirk that could stop hearts.
His hair fell in soft, inky waves, framing his face with an effortless elegance. Despite his thirty years, not a single strand was out of place, its midnight sheen catching the light and making him seem ageless. His brows were thick and naturally arched, lending his face an intensity that lingered even in unconsciousness.
The white hospital gown draped over his broad shoulders and lean frame, failing to conceal the athletic build beneath. His chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm, each breath measured and calm, as though even sleep couldn't rob him of his composure. The slight parting of his collar revealed a hint of his collarbone, sharp and tantalizing, a reminder of the strength hidden within his otherwise still body.
The room's soft light cast a halo around him, accentuating every angle and curve of his form. He looked untouchable, like a deity momentarily resting in the mortal realm, a man who defied the passage of time and the frailty of human flesh. Even now, in his vulnerable state, Xu Yichen radiated a quiet power, an allure so overwhelming that it seemed almost otherworldly.
Yet, this man that once flipped the entire world upside down overnight, taking down giant amongst giants in the business world now lay on the hospital bed, frail bringing a sense of beauty, one that was delicate and haunting. It was the kind of beauty that evoked a quiet sorrow, like a once-mighty oak now weathered by time, its strength tempered into something softer yet no less captivating. In his stillness, he seemed almost ethereal, as though he were a fallen star caught between mortality and divinity.
Various wires were connected to the body linked to many machines keeping his body alive.
It was… normal to say the list.
What isn't normal is a younger version of Xu Yuchen languidly laying on the couch reading a book leisurely despite his own body barely hanging to life. A soft humming breaks the silence of the room yet many visitors, nurses and doctors come and go without seeing or hearing the young man at all.
And that itself was also normal.
For the veils have separated the two worlds apart, connected yet always separated.
"Beep! Beep! Beep!" Loud beeping sound startled the nurse that was working beside checking things.
"Oh no! Doctor, Doctor! Mister Xu Yuchen is in critical condition!" The nurse asked for help through the intercom, trying her best to stabilize the body.
"Oh?" 'Xu Yuchen' floated over the bed, watching everything with mild interest, the book he was reading vanishing into thin air.
Doctors and nurses rushed into the room checking and then moving Xu Yuchen into the operating room trying to resuscitate his life.
"3, 2, 1, Clear!" Buzzed! "We're losing him doc" "Try again! 3,2,1 clear!" Buzzed.
Through the flurries of the doctor, 'Xu Yuchen calmly watched as if what was happening had nothing to do with him at all.
"Ding, ding, ding" 'Xu Yuchen looked away and searched for the source of the strange rings.
"Analyzing Host"
"Analysis Complete"
"Suitability: 100%. Result, Pass"
"Intelligence: Computation Error. Result, Pass"
"What the-?" Xu Yichen's brows furrowed, raising his and golden codes immediately flowed towards his palms.
"Warning! Warning! Warning! System Compromised! System Comiyahhhh!" A palm sized robotic cat head with glowing blue eyes appeared as he was about to shatter the link of codes. "WAAHHHH!" The system cried, pixel tears dropping and disappearing from its… body? Face?
"Host, host! Please don't hurt this innocent baby! Waaa! Scary! Coax me! Coax me!" The system's robotic voice made quite the contrast with the cutesy tone it was trying to convey.
The system appeared as a floating orb, small yet radiating an undeniable presence. Its surface shimmered with a metallic sheen, a blend of deep silver and vibrant azure that shifted subtly with the light, as if it held an entire galaxy within its tiny frame. Cat-like ears perched on either side of the orb, giving it an unexpectedly playful appearance that contrasted with the sharp intelligence reflected in its glowing, crystalline eyes.
Its body floated up and down as if bouncing in excitement.
The eyes, a striking electric blue, seemed alive, gleaming with curiosity, mischief, and a faint trace of something inscrutable. They pulsed faintly, casting soft, rhythmic glows that filled the space around it with an almost otherworldly energy. Despite its small size, the system exuded an aura of power, like an ancient being compressed into a deceptively simple form.
A faint hum accompanied its presence, a gentle vibration in the air that was both soothing and unnerving. Its movements were fluid and deliberate, floating effortlessly through the space as if bound by no rules of gravity. Yet, for all its charm and harmless appearance, there was an edge to its aura, an unspoken reminder that this playful entity wielded control far beyond what its form suggested.
Xu Yuchen's face darkened. "Speak human!" He snapped throwing the cat-ball system away watching it turn into codes as it smashed in the wall.
The scene was comical if it weren't for the doctor's struggling to keep 'Xu Yuchen' alive in the background.
