Chapter 13 - Conquerors in Love

Prologue:

With their bond solidified, Li Jue and Li Feng became an unstoppable force. Their dual cultivation granted them an edge no other sect could rival. Together, they dismantled the Golden Radiance Sect, leaving its leaders kneeling before them in submission.

The Golden Radiance Sect had once been a symbol of power, their palace towering over the land like a fortress. Now, it lay in ruins, crumbling under the weight of the storm that Li Jue and Li Feng had unleashed. The once-proud leaders of the sect knelt before them, their eyes filled with fear and submission. The battle had been swift, brutal, and efficient—just the way Li Jue liked it.

Li Feng stood tall, her expression cold but calculated as she addressed the trembling elders. "You see," she began, her voice carrying through the silent hall, "resistance is futile. Join us, and you will find your place in the new world we are creating."

One elder, his face contorted with anger and fear, spat at her feet. "And if we refuse?" he sneered, though his voice quivered under her piercing gaze.

Li Jue stepped forward, his presence overwhelming as the air around him seemed to thicken. "Then you will be nothing but a memory," he said, his tone as cold as the steel of a blade.

Before the elder could respond, Li Jue raised his hand. His energy surged, a wave of force that pulled the elder's spiritual essence toward him. The man screamed in agony as his power was drained away with ruthless efficiency. Within moments, he collapsed, lifeless, his energy now part of Li Jue's.

The remaining elders, their resolve shattered, immediately bowed before the two of them, pledging their fealty to the False Immortal and the White Lotus Sect Master. "We submit," one elder stammered, "We pledge our loyalty."

Li Feng nodded, her eyes narrowing as she surveyed the broken palace. "Your loyalty means little," she said, "but it will suffice—for now."

Later that evening, as the sun set behind them, casting the ruins in a blood-red glow, Li Feng stood next to Li Jue at the edge of the broken palace. The air was thick with the scent of destruction, but Li Feng couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. They had shattered the Golden Radiance Sect's hold on the world, but she knew that their victory was far from complete.

"We're changing the world, but it's not enough," she said, her voice low, almost wistful. "The heavens still watch us, waiting to strike."

Li Jue turned to face her, his expression hardening, but there was a glint of something more—something fierce and unyielding. He reached out, pulling her closer, their bodies brushing together as he placed his hand on the small of her back.

"Let them watch," he said, his voice low, filled with a dangerous promise. "We'll make them kneel too."

Li Feng's eyes flickered with something close to a smile, though it was tinged with darkness. "And if they don't?" she asked, her tone matching his, steely and determined.

"Then we'll make them," Li Jue replied, his lips brushing against her ear. "Together, there's nothing we can't conquer."

For a brief moment, the world around them seemed to fade. All that mattered was their bond, their shared ambition, and the future they would carve out of the ashes of those who stood against them. The sky above seemed to reflect their desires—endless and filled with promise.

As their lips met in a kiss, the night air around them seemed to crackle with energy, the power of their connection resonating through the ruins. Together, they were unstoppable. Together, they would tear down the heavens themselves.
