Introduction
This is a work of fiction that tells the story of a shy young man, discriminated against for being very intelligent, known as STOOD.
At school, he was the best in his class, but unfortunately, he wasn't accepted by the other students because he was too intelligent.
His favorite pastime was going to his father's friend's junkyard, a place where he spent hours tinkering with old scrap and exploring rusty objects.
Over time, STOOD became friends with Elis, the owner's daughter, who attended the same school but one year behind STOOD.
Every day, in the late afternoon, the two would meet in a huge abandoned warehouse within the junkyard, spending hours together, sharing their knowledge and dreams.
This junkyard belonged to Elis's grandfather, who acquired the place right after returning from World War II. He was a compulsive collector, buying any piece of metal he could find and storing it in his space. However, there was something peculiar about the warehouse that always aroused STOOD's curiosity.
Elis's grandfather never allowed anyone to enter that warehouse, and Elis's father refused to go inside even after his father's passing. Elis's grandfather used to say that something very valuable was hidden there, something he had found at the end of the war and kept.
And that's how the mystery began—something that would set in motion a series of events that would change STOOD and Elis's lives forever.
Chapter I - A Strange Glow
Amidst lightning and thunder, after school, STOOD met with Elis, commenting that it would be nearly impossible for them to meet at the warehouse that day. That had been one of the most chaotic nights the town had ever experienced.
The next day, they met at school, and Elis told STOOD that her father had mentioned a lightning bolt had struck the warehouse. They were very curious to find out if the lightning had destroyed anything inside the warehouse. As soon as the class ended, they made plans to meet at the warehouse.
STOOD Arrives First
STOOD arrived first at the warehouse and was shocked by what he saw. The place was completely turned upside down, as if a tornado had passed through it. Everything was scattered and in disarray. At the back of the warehouse, he heard a strange buzzing sound, like an electrical short circuit—zummmmmm.
Curious, but cautious, he began to approach the source of the sound. As he got closer, he noticed something faintly blinking with a dim light. The flashing object seemed almost alive, pulsing with the energy that powered the light.
At that moment, Elis arrived at the warehouse and immediately saw STOOD in the back, near the strange object. She shouted his name, but it was too late. STOOD reached out and touched the blinking object.
The moment his hand made contact, a violent surge of energy passed through him, throwing him nearly 10 meters away. Elis screamed as STOOD hit the ground hard, the air around them charged with a strange electric tension.
Elis ran to help STOOD, finding him lying on the ground in shock. His hand and arm were glowing with an eerie neon blue light, as if electrified. She knelt beside him, calling his name desperately, trying to wake him up.
After a moment, she noticed his eyes slowly opening. But something was different—his eyes, once brown, were now glowing with neon blue.
He couldn't speak, his body still trembling from the shock. Frantic, she decided to take him to the hospital. But on the way, STOOD resisted, shaking his head and insisting that they go to his house instead. Though weak and dazed, he seemed determined, leaving Elis torn between fear and trust in his unusual request.
Transformations in the Darkness
After dropping him off at home, Elis returned to her own house, still worried about STOOD's condition. During the night, he remained completely unconscious, but his body underwent intense internal transformations.
Something profound was happening, even though he was unaware—an energy flowed through his body, transforming every part of him into a machine.
When he finally woke up, STOOD was no longer the same. His vision, once dependent on glasses, was now perfect. His mind seemed to pulse with an insatiable thirst for learning and knowledge. Without hesitation, he sat in front of his computer and, in a few hours, absorbed all the information available on the internet. He now seemed to have reached superhuman capabilities.
