Chapter 93 - The Demon Who Rules and Creates the Rules Part Four

Yi Bai couldn't help but picture the stunning face of the Lady of Mirrors in his mind—a face with built-in light and shadow effects, cold and ethereal. Along with it came the enchanting face of Lina, both of which slowly morphed into the form of a crude machete.

It felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, and the temperature inside Yi Bai quickly dropped.

"Unrefined... far too unrefined!"

Though his heart seethed with dissatisfaction, Yi Bai remained outwardly calm as he gently pulled Shier up and had her stand properly, maintaining a certain distance between them.

"Shier, your mother seems to be looking for you," Yi Bai couldn't help but remind her.

Shier, still in a state of daze, hadn't noticed a thing. The Soul-Shattering Mirror Fragment, a gift from the Lady of Mirrors, had already manifested in response to the situation.

"Mmm... I feel weak. Mom? Isn't she in the Scary World? How could she contact me?" Shier murmured softly, her amber eyes clouded with confusion.

"Ah..." Yi Bai froze for a moment, then looked up at the little mirror that was still vibrating in the air, sighing in relief.

He had thought about it. There was no way the Lady of Mirrors could easily contact Shier from another world; the distance between them was simply too vast.

However, the fragment of the Soul-Shattering Mirror likely still carried a trace of Qingyuan's will, which was why it appeared at this crucial moment to interrupt Yi Bai's second phase.

Was he disappointed? Perhaps just a little. But it was something he could accept. After all, it had prevented him from becoming the victim of a machete.

For now, it seemed wiser to refrain from any rash actions until he could strengthen his relationship with the Lady of Mirrors and bring Shier and Lina back under his control.

The favorability of monsters, despite appearing to have only a few levels, was actually much more complex. Yi Bai suspected that after passing through life-and-death bonds, there might be unique stages beyond that, such as a "fascinating attachment" that could lead to deeper ties.

"There's still a long road ahead," Yi Bai muttered, his gaze falling on little Shier. She had now put away the Soul-Shattering Mirror Fragment, and her eyes had regained their clarity.

"Big brother, are we going to keep playing games?" Shier asked, her voice sweet and innocent.

Yi Bai almost snapped at the thought. He sighed helplessly.

"We can play games later. We don't have much time in the human world. The next horror game will arrive soon, so we should focus on creating our paradise first," he said.

Games were fun, but they often spiraled out of control. Shier still had a slight yandere tendency, and Yi Bai didn't want to risk a machete situation before they could reach a certain level of intimacy.

"Okay, big brother, I'll listen to you!" Shier said sweetly, taking out a lollipop from her little princess skirt pocket, and began to eat it obediently.

"Wait! Did I forget something?" Yi Bai suddenly slapped his forehead, realizing something.

"Mmm... Si Mo Si?" Shier mumbled, her voice muffled.

"Yes..." Yi Bai paused, collected his thoughts, and then said, "The issue we were originally discussing was about the Blood Clan's Blood Magic, right?"

"Oh~" Shier's cute little face showed a mildly confused expression. "Oh, I think so..."

The air fell silent for a moment.

Three seconds later, Yi Bai and Shier, without saying a word, began to discuss the origins of Blood Magic. From Shier, Yi Bai learned important information that didn't exist in the human world.

The origin of Blood Magic was tied to something unspeakable, something terrifying—the Demon God.

Ordinary monsters could only use their innate abilities, and those who were weak didn't even have much of a power to speak of. The abilities of monsters were usually quite singular, with only a few exceptions, like Quell, the transformation expert, and Ralph, the stitching monster.

To obtain additional abilities, there were only three ways.

Quell and Ralph belonged to the same category. The second method was to bond with a monster artifact. Each artifact was unique and possessed different powers, greatly enhancing the abilities of the monsters. The Lady of Mirrors, Qingyuan, was a prime example of this.

The third method was practically unreplicable in the current Scary World. Why were unspeakable monsters considered nearly taboo? Why was there such a vast gap between them and the Bloody Ghosts?

The reason was simple: while Bloody Ghosts were restricted by "domains," unspeakable monsters had transcended those limitations and had transformed their innate powers into unique "rules."

Domains had spatial limits, but rules were everywhere!

The unspeakable monsters were embodiments of rules, and above them stood the Demon Gods, who controlled their own rules and had transcended them—creating a whole new system of power.

This was the symbol of the Demon God!

Blood Magic was a legacy of the Demon God, created as a rule-based power passed down through the bloodline. It was an additional method that could be learned and controlled by every true member of the Blood Clan through their bloodline.

Of course, not every Demon God created such rules, which made something like Blood Magic extremely rare and only usable by Blood Clan members.

Yi Bai had learned from Shier that no information regarding the Demon Gods had surfaced in the Scary World for quite some time, nor had there been any signs of a unspeakable monster aspiring to become one.

"Since it's based on a special rule power through the bloodline, I must not have the required strength to activate it yet. The Rose Countess wouldn't have kept this from me," Yi Bai thought.

"At the evil spirit level, I can't use it, so it looks like I'll need at least the ghost king level to access Blood Magic."

"Improving my strength has become an urgent matter," Yi Bai's eyes sparkled with determination. He set a small goal for himself. "In the next instance, I should focus on improving my strength!"
