Chereads / The Light That Summons the Darkness / Chapter 7 - The Awakening of Strength

Chapter 7 - The Awakening of Strength

[Aryan walks out of the forest, the Goblin Core glowing faintly in his hand. The adrenaline from his first kill fades, and he feels an unusual warmth coursing through his body.]

Aryan: (to himself) "Huh? What's this... my legs feel lighter."

[He takes a step, and his speed feels noticeably faster. He tests it by sprinting a short distance, leaving a gust of wind in his wake.]

Aryan: (grinning) "No way... this is just like those anime! Defeat an enemy, and you get stronger. This world keeps getting better!"

[As he revels in his discovery, another goblin suddenly steps into his path, growling. Aryan instinctively drops into a combat stance.]

Aryan: (smirking) "One more? Perfect timing. Let's see what this new speed can do."

[The goblin charges, but this time, Aryan doesn't wait. He dashes forward, moving faster than the goblin can react, and slashes its throat with a single, clean strike.]

Aryan: (standing over the fallen goblin) "That... was awesome. I really am getting stronger."

[He picks up the second Goblin Core and resumes his journey, a confident smile on his face.]

[Two hours later, Aryan arrives at the guild, tired but triumphant. The receptionist greets him with a professional nod.]

Receptionist: "Welcome back, sir. Have you completed the task?"

Aryan: (placing the two cores on the counter) "Mission accomplished. Here are the cores."

Receptionist: (examining the cores) "Impressive. You've brought two cores. Your reward is 60 browns coins."

Aryan: (confused) "Wait, wasn't the task reward 30 coins?"

Receptionist: "Correct, but you've brought an extra core, so you're rewarded for both."

Aryan: (grinning) "Nice. Double the reward! I could get used to this."

[The receptionist hands him a small pouch of coins. Aryan thanks her and leaves the guild, heading back to the shopkeeper's place.]

[At the shop, Aryan shares his success with the shopkeeper and his son.]

Aryan: "Uncle, look! 60 browns coins for my first task."

Uncle: (laughing) "Good job, boy. You're stronger than you look."

[The shopkeeper's son, a curious boy with a determined expression, watches intently.]

Son: "I want to be a player too!"

Aryan: (curious) "Player? What's that?"

Uncle: "It's what we call anyone registered with the guild. Players take on tasks, defeat monsters, and make a living."

Aryan: (nodding) "Makes sense. Well, maybe someday you can join me on a task."

Son: "Really? You'd let me?"

Aryan: (smiling) "Not now. But someday, when you're ready."

[The boy beams with excitement, while Aryan heads to his room, already planning his next adventure.]
