Chapter 4 - Chapter four:The trials of Matthias.

King Alexander Ephiphanes had just returned from his trip to the cities of Marus and Tallus, and was settling back into his daily routine in Galvia. But his peace was short-lived, as a group of Christians and pagans from neighboring kingdoms arrived at his castle, seeking justice for the late Archbishop Andrews Tates.

The group, which included people who had had positive dealings with the former Archbishop, protested against the killing of Andrews Tates and the evil deeds committed by Malcolm and Matthias while the king was away. They demanded justice for the late Archbishop, recounting his many good deeds and the positive impact he had on the kingdom.

Queen Pamela, who had had a pleasant encounter with the late Archbishop during a tour of the kingdoms and cities ruled by her husband, was deeply grieved by the news. She persuaded King Alexander Ephiphanes to take action and give justice to the late Archbishop.

The king, moved by his wife's words and the protests of the people, decided to take swift action. He ordered Malcolm, who was nearby and seeking to escape, to be brought before him. The king tore off Malcolm's clothes, till he was naked, exposing his guilt, and had him marched to the same spot in Dawnees dukedom where he had killed the late Archbishop. There, Malcolm was put to death, receiving the punishment he deserved for killing God's faithful servant.

But the king's justice did not stop there. He summoned Matthias, the corrupt Archbishop of Everia, to stand trial for his crimes. The people of Everia and the neighboring kingdoms eagerly awaited the outcome, hoping that justice would finally be served.

As the trial of Matthias progressed, it became increasingly clear that the evidence was stacked against him. The loyal supporters of the late Archbishop Andrews Tates presented a compelling case, revealing the depths of Matthias's corruption and deceit.

Desperate to avoid punishment, Matthias resorted to bribery. He secretly paid off Presley, a influential figure in King Alexander's court, to persuade the king to rule in his favor.

Presley, swayed by Matthias's bribe, urged King Alexander to dismiss the case against Matthias. The king, unaware of the bribery, agreed to Presley's counsel and had the loyal supporters of the late Archbishop put to death.

Matthias, the corrupt Archbishop, was set free, much to the outrage of the people of Everia. The kingdom was plunged into mourning as the people lamented the injustice that had been perpetrated.

Despite the danger, the people of Everia showed their respect for their fallen friends by giving them a dignified burial. The memory of the late Archbishop Andrews Tates and his loyal supporters was honored, and their sacrifice would not be forgotten.

The end of Jason Tates, the former Archbishop of Everia and younger brother of Andrews Tates, was a tragic and fitting conclusion to his wicked life. A false report had been circulating that King Alexander Ephiphanes had been overthrown, and Jason, seeing an opportunity to regain power, gathered over a thousand men and launched a surprise attack on his own people, the Everians.

Jason's men drove out the soldiers stationed by Matthias and the corrupt leaders of Everia, forcing Matthias to flee for his life. Jason continued his rampage, murdering his fellow brothers and sisters, especially the Christians which were his main target. However, despite his brutal efforts, he was unable to achieve his goal of reclaiming the position of Archbishop.

Forced to flee Everia once again, Jason escaped to the kingdom of Vorgar. But his troubles were far from over. The king of Vorgar, outraged by Jason's betrayal of his own people, had him imprisoned.

Jason spent the remainder of his days in captivity, despised by all who knew him. He died a fugitive and a slave, without even the dignity of a proper burial.

In a final act of contempt, Jason's body was burnt to ashes and thrown into a dirty river in Vorgar. It was a fitting end to the life of a man who had brought so much suffering and death to his own people. And that was how this evil man who has brought so many misfortunes to the people of Everia ended. He was not even mourned by memebers of his own family.
