Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Betrayal of the Crown

The Incomparable Corridor of Valtherion Royal residence focused grandly under the illumination of 1,000 crystal fixtures. The air was loaded up with the aroma of incense, blended in with the smell of old wood and consuming candles. The aristocrats stood arranged along the walls, their faces brimming with misrepresentation however their eyes couldn't conceal the combination of dread and assumption.

Kaien Valtherion remained in the focal point of the room, his hands fastened by a faintly gleaming spell. His once wonderful illustrious robes were currently torn, stained with blood from an injury that had been just slapped closed. He had once envisioned himself remaining here as a superb ruler, yet never as a detainee.

On the high position, Elrick Valtherion sat, canvassed in imperial formal attire. His dim eyes sparkled victoriously. The oldest child Kaien had once regarded now seemed as though a hunter getting ready to attack its prey.

"Elrick," Kaien croaked, his voice frail yet brimming with challenge. "What is this? Isn't it enough that you sold out me? Is it enough that you ruined the family name and annihilated our promise to the lofty position?"

Elrick grinned briskly. He rose from the high position, each step slow, intentional. The safeguard he wore shined impeccably, signaling faintly every time he made a stride.

"Treachery?" Elrick said, his voice quiet however hinting. "No, younger sibling, this is structure something that has never existed under the superb deception you made."

Kaien's hands got a handle on the shackling chains, his eyes gleaming with outrage. "You figure taking the privileged position by misdirection and disloyalty will make you a superior lord? You're simply a defeatist."

The room was quickly quiet. The aristocrats took a gander at one another, their loyalties faltering like leaves in the breeze. Nobody thought for even a moment to stand up. They all knew the new power Elrick employed a dim, mysterious power.

Elrick shifted his head, his eyes sparkling naughtily. "You've forever been excessively optimistic, Kaien. That is the reason you never saw any of this coming. A ruler isn't given power-he takes it."

He signaled, and a court copyist ventured forward, conveying a piece of material fixed with the illustrious crest. "Hear this," Elrick reported, his voice reverberating all through the room, "Kaien Valtherion, previous crown ruler of Valtherion, has been blamed for selling out the lofty position. He has contrived with unfamiliar abilities to debilitate the realm and endeavor to usurp the privileged position."

Kaien's heart bankrupt when he saw the material. The guidelines on it, probably composed by him, were phony yet the regal seal looked genuine, similar to a brutal joke.

"It's a fake!" Kaien thundered, his voice reverberating all through the corridor. "You faked this! I could never sell out my realm!"

Elrick's chuckling repeated, sharp and void. "Do you suppose anybody thinks often about your fights? Reality amounts to nothing when the force of discourse is more grounded."

Kaien attempted to battle the chains that bound him, yet the runes on them streaked splendidly, draining his solidarity. He tumbled to his knees, his head bowed. His brain spun, looking for a method for retaliating everything except all he saw were the countenances he had once trusted, presently got some distance from him.

"Enough," Elrick said, his voice now colder. "Your words are unimportant, and your destiny is fixed. For the wrongdoing of conspiracy, I sentence you to death."

The corridor was loaded up with murmurs. A few aristocrats were stunned; others gestured, their countenances hard with practicality. Nobody approached to guard him.

Two knights got Kaien, hauling him to the discipline stage toward the finish of the lobby. The world obscured as Kaien experienced a combination of rage and depression inside him. Behind him, he could hear Elrick's sluggish strides, as though relishing each experience.

"To Valtherion," Elrick said, raising the formal sword that sparkled in the candlelight.

Kaien shut his eyes, his breathing starting to quiet. He thought about his realm, his vow to safeguard the lofty position, and his goals. However, most importantly, he thought about Elrick's grin and the disloyalty that obliterated everything.

The blade fell.

Dimness gulped it.

The Abyss

Kaien stirred, drifting in an unending void. The virus air was puncturing, and his body felt light. Shadows twirled around him, murmuring in a language he didn't have the foggiest idea.

"Where... am I?" she asked, her voice repeating oddly.

"You're almost there," single voice answered, profound and repeating like thunder.

Kaien twirled around, looking for the wellspring of the voice, yet there was only haziness that proceeded to wander aimlessly.

"Who are you?" Kaien asked, his voice firmer at this point.

"I'm Vacancy," the voice answered. "The finish, all things considered, and the start, everything being equal. Also, you, Kaien Valtherion, have fallen into my area."

Kaien's hands gripped into clench hands. "What is it that you expect from me?"

The voice laughed, the sound puncturing into his spirit. "It isn't what I need, O child. Yet, what you need. I experience your fury, your retaliation... They call to me. You lost everything-your lofty position, your honor, your life. Would you like to get everything back?"

Kaien was quiet. Elrick's selling out returned to cause major problems for him, and the heaviness of rout made his chest tight. His honor had been annihilated, and he had passed on without having the option to guard himself. However... could he have the option to acknowledge this deal?

Once more, the voice rang out, gentler this time, practically cajoling. "Each power has its cost. I give you life as a trade off. An opportunity to recover the privileged position, to look for retribution. In any case, this way will request a far more noteworthy penance. Could it be said that you will pay it?"

Kaien's jaw grasped. He had been raised to maintain honor and placed the realm regardless of anything else. In any case, honor had sold out him. Presently, just vengeance remained.

"I acknowledge," he said, his voice still up in the air.

The haziness around him hurried towards him, wrapping his body. Torment shot through her like 1,000 wounding blades, however she didn't shout. The voice was a chuckle, solid and blasting.

"Alright, we should check whether you truly deserve the Everlasting Lofty position."

Kaien's body was opened up and revised. His spirit was hauled out of the void, tossed into something new.

The Rebirth

Kaien got up to the smell of wet earth and the sound of tenderly stirring leaves. He woke him up to the new star-filled sky.

Gradually, he rose, his body feeble however alive. He went to a close by rivulet, looking into its reasonable surface.

An agonizing face got back to him... not his own.
