Kaizen casually flipped through a few important articles and read them. He quickly grasped the general situation. After closing the log, Kaizen couldn't help but sigh. The most useless people in One Piece are probably the Celestial Dragons. These individuals claim to be the world's aristocrats, yet for their selfish desires, they have killed countless innocent people. However, Kaizen was curious about the devil fruit mentioned in the log. What kind of fruit is it? It is even guarded by a fire dragon.

Kaizen looked at the locked drawer on the desk, then picked up a pistol that seemed like a decoration. With a "bang," the seemingly sturdy golden lock was ruthlessly destroyed.

He opened the drawer, and sure enough, there was a dark purple pineapple inside. The stripes on the pineapple resembled a devil's face, sending a chill down his spine.

[Ding! Devil Fruit found, activating the Pirate System]

[Name: Kaizen Roronoa]

[Initial points: 100]

[Berries number: 0]

[Congratulations on entering the pirate world. The system provides: a sloop, a space warehouse, and system points: 100.]

The moment he saw the fruit, lines of text suddenly flashed in his mind, making Kaizen dizzy.

Kaizen's mind entered a game interface, which displayed words like skills, stores, bloodlines, and warehouses. Kaizen first opened the "skills" interface, but found that aside from some basic skills, the other skill slots were empty. When Kaizen inquired, the system immediately responded.

The reason was that Kaizen hadn't activated them yet. However, what caught his attention was the colorful skill listed under the "skills" section. The description was simple: when the host is near death, the skill [Escape (5/5)] activates, allowing the user to escape anyone's grasp. But this skill is limited to five uses, with no way to restore them.

Next was "bloodline," which revealed that Kaizen possessed the "Charming Bloodline." The description read: A person from another world, with a mysterious aura that makes women interested (Effect: The favorability of women you meet for the first time can reach 70%). In other words, as long as Kaizen encounters a woman without any major grudge or a boyfriend, he could confess directly, with a success rate of over 60%.

Finally, Kaizen opened the "store." The system store was filled with a variety of items, ranging from small items like food and drinks to larger items like warships, weapons, and rare treasures. In short, it had everything, though the prices were shocking. Aside from some food that could be exchanged for a certain amount with system points, Kaizen could barely afford anything else.

The other feature was a warehouse. When Kaizen opened the warehouse, he was stunned by the vastness before him. The view seemed endless. Within this enormous warehouse, there was only a small canoe. When Kaizen focused on the canoe, the system displayed the words, "Extract?" Kaizen selected "No," then exited the system interface.

He sighed in relief. Now, he had a boat, and the system was activated. Although the items inside were a bit expensive, they were still acceptable. It was better than having nothing.

Life is like sex. Since you can't resist it, you might as well enjoy it. It seemed like there was no turning back now, so he might as well embrace the colorful world before him. In his previous world, with computers and televisions, he could only find happiness in front of a screen. But now, there were no laws to worry about. As long as you had enough strength, you could make the rules!

Here, he could flirt with Nami, tease Robin, and even teach the arrogant Kalifa, the gentle Kaya, fiery Hina a lesson and many more beautiful women of one piece world. The thought of having the chance to engage with them in the future made Kaizen feel elated.

After his musings, Kaizen's eyes grew resolute, and he stared at the devil fruit in his hand with a burning intensity.

What kind of fruit is this?

Kaizen thought, still unsure.

[Ding! Devil fruit identification completed: Death Qi Fruit. When someone dies, death qi is generated and lingers. This death qi contains parts of the energy and memories of the deceased (similar to the three souls and seven spirits). The owner of the fruit can absorb the death qi and reinject it into the body of the deceased to create a puppet. It is said that the owner of the Death Qi Fruit can absorb their own death qi when on the verge of death and revive themselves. (Further details require additional identification.)]

Kaizen smiled. He hadn't expected the system to have such a useful function. It seemed that the system wasn't completely broken.

After reading the identification details, Kaizen guessed that the fruit likely belonged to the same family as Gecko Moria's Shadow Fruit, though its abilities seemed superior. However, its ability alone wasn't enough for the Celestial Dragons to go to such lengths to secure it. The real allure seemed to be the fruit's power to resurrect the dead. After all, immortality was a coveted trait for anyone.

"Should I eat it?"

Kaizen pondered.

If he were to choose, it would be the elemental Thunder Fruit or the Flame Fruit, or even one of the three admirals' fruits, as their powers were nearly abnormal. But now, Kaizen wasn't sure of the timeline. Perhaps those fruits were already taken. Besides, if something went wrong, he might not even get the chance to eat this Death Fruit.

The world is vast, but survival is the most important. Someone once said, there is no useless fruit, only useless users. Kaizen reasoned that he was far from useless, so what was there to fear?

Without hesitation, Kaizen began eating the fruit. Although he knew devil fruits were notoriously unpalatable, he didn't expect it to taste this awful. Kaizen endured the mental blow from the taste and finally swallowed the Death Fruit. Almost immediately, he felt a strange force swirling within his body. This energy moved through his body like a whirlwind, gathering in his chest before slowly dissipating.

[Ding! Congratulations! You've become the owner of a Devil Fruit!]

[The abilities of this fruit can be improved in two ways. One is to absorb death energy and enhance your own abilities, and the other is through meditation. (Currently, the host does not have enough death energy to create a puppet.)]

Kaizen had grown used to the system's messages and no longer felt surprised. He knew the fruit had been fully digested when he noticed the scene before him—dark purple-black gas filled the air. Perhaps this was the death energy from the souls of those who had perished aboard the ship. Kaizen extended his hand and began to absorb the death energy. It felt like he was a massive black hole, drawing in the energy and assimilating it into his body.

After absorbing the death energy, Kaizen felt a profound sense of comfort and power surging through him. He realized that both his strength and speed had greatly increased. This must be the fruit's ability—to absorb the power of the dead.

[Ding! Ability activated: Navy Six Styles!]

Kaizen had never expected that absorbing the death energy would grant him the memories of the deceased, including those of a colonel who had been practicing the Six Navy Styles in his final moments. Miraculously, the system activated the Six Navy Styles for Kaizen.

Kaizen entered the system interface, filled with joy, but that joy quickly faded when he saw the exchange points required for each of the Navy Six Styles—2000 points each. Kaizen's face twitched as he realized he only had 100 points. He sighed, his life was truly miserable!

In the drawer, along with the devil fruit, Kaizen found a sealed letter. Thanks to the colonel's memories, Kaizen knew it was a letter of recommendation from a lieutenant admiral to his former classmates at the Naval Academy, urging them to take care of his illegitimate son.

[Ding! Mission activated: Impersonate a bastard.]

[Description: Pretend to be the illegitimate son of a naval admiral studying at the Naval Academy.]

[Reward: 500 points, halved for learning the Six Naval Styles.]

Kaizen's heart skipped a beat. His original plan was to read the letter to see if there was an opportunity to pretend to be the illegitimate son mentioned in it. While Kaizen had extensive knowledge of One Piece from his previous life, that knowledge was now irrelevant.

What mattered now was having a powerful backer. Even in One Piece, Luffy had a major backer. Though this wasn't immediately obvious, if a powerful navy officer had captured Luffy, they would likely spare him in exchange for saving his life. Akainu and others didn't count, of course.

So Kaizen found that the system's mission aligned perfectly with his plans.

Next, Kaizen began his preparations. He searched the navy ship for a while, utilizing his knowledge from the colonel's memories. Soon, he found the warship's storage. He took everything—food, weapons, and any valuable items—storing them in his system warehouse. To his disappointment, the warship only had 5 million Berries.

Though Berries could be exchanged for system points, the rates were unfair. 100,000 Berries equaled one point, and one point could only be exchanged for 10,000 Berries. Kaizen thought this was rather unjust, but it didn't matter. Once he reached Sky Island, he could steal all the gold there, which was worth more than a billion Berries.

Besides the usual items, there was a Japanese samurai sword next to the colonel. Kaizen didn't know much about these swords, but he could tell it was of high quality. After all, it was wielded by a colonel who had been promoted to brigadier general. He decided to take it for self-defense.

Kaizen strapped the sword to his waist and found a clean white shirt to wear, knowing the previous one was unsuitable. After a quick wash, Kaizen looked in the mirror and admired his handsome reflection.

In the captain's room, Kaizen found a permanent pointer, which seemed to be pointing to a branch of the navy. With this pointer, Kaizen could now confirm that he was on a small island in the Grand Line.

Just as Kaizen picked up the permanent pointer, the system's joyful voice sounded again.
