The twin pirates were seated in the lavishly decorated captain's quarters. The twins were known as Silas and Salim. Silas was the twin who was about to get executed by Grand Admiral Nelson. Salim was the twin who spoke up and offered to reveal all the information he had. They were obviously from the Asharan continent due to their skin colour and accents.
"Alright pirate, just like I asked out on the deck, who is the Pirate King and where is your base?" The Grand Admiral asked in a softer tone. Silas looked at his twin and shook his head, trying to convince him to stay quiet.
Hesitant at first Salim began to give up everything he knew, "The Pirate King is a tall man with a peg leg. His face is scarred and his hair is long, messy and black as a raven. No one knows his actual name or who he was before being a pirate. His ship is called The Black Dread. That is all I know about him."
"That is a good start, but now I need to know, where is your base and can you lead us to it?" The admiral asked in a more forceful tone. Salim began to twitch. He had already given a decent part of information for saving his brother from being executed. Deciding to be bold Salim tried to negotiate with legendary admiral.
"I have already told you quite a bit compared to any of the other pirates you have captive. I'll tell you all I know and even lead you to our base but I'd like a few things in return. Firstly I'd like both me and my brother to be spared from the hangman and set free. A little assistance return to the Asharan continent would be greatly appreciated as well." Stated Salim.
Victor and the Grand Admiral thought for a few moments. It was not an absurd demand and it was something they could grant. The first to break the silence was Victor, "If we agree to those terms would you well and truly assist us?"
Eagerly Salim nodded, although his twin could only glare at his brother for being so easily submissive. With an understanding of an appropriate dea,l Salim began to assist the Luxenberg fleet in travelling to the pirate base.
Pulling out a world map the Grand Admiral spread it across a table. There were the 5 continents of the world for all to see. In the north was Victor's home and the smallest continent, Bulgar and above that was the Northern Arctic. Next was the largest continent in the middle of the world. That was the sandy desert continent, Asharan.
In the south, you had the continent of Kislev a snowy and rugged domain full of brutish people. Below that is the Southern Artic. Finally, you had the eastern and western continents. Similar in size and geography these two continents were known as Zandar and Simbar due to their twin-like nature.
Pointing at their current location, The Triplets which was situated in the middle of the Bulgar to Asharan route, the admiral asked Salim to point to the location of the pirate base. Searching the map Salim pointed to a small island known as Fish Hook Island, which was a week's journey from their current position closing into the sandy continent.
With a course set the Luxenberg fleet departed from The Triplets towards Fish Hook Island. The journey was smooth sailing with favourable winds and calm waters. The 7 ship fleet began to sight Fish Hook Island. Staying true to its namesake the island was shaped like a fish hook. Small wooden buildings and a harbour had been constructed. Many ships displaying black flags were in the harbour.
In that cluster of ships, a particular ship stood out from the rest. A bigger and better-armed ship floated in the middle of the cluster. Sporting a nameplate at the back it read "The Black Dread." Remembering Salim's information it was clear to see that the ship was the Pirate King's vessel.
Seeing as how they had superiority and the element of surprise the fleet began to approach the pirate town. Ordering the crew to make ready the guns, Grand Admiral Nelson planned to bombard the ships and leave them stranded on the Island.
There were almost 800 pirates on the island. Drunken and disorderly the pirates were oblivious to the approaching fleet. Lining up for a deadly broadside the fleet was now in range to land such a devastating volley.
Like the battle at The Triplets, Horatio Nelson signalled for Victor to give the order. With the rise and fall of his hand, the serenade of cannon fire disturbed the partying pirates. Almost all of the ships were obliterated in an instant. Many of them had only a skeleton crew aboard and they were torn to shreds.
Showing no sign of letting up the fleet bombarded the remaining few ships with no opposition. Even The Black Dread was sunk. The pirates on the small island could only watch in dismay as their trusted vessels were blown apart by the Luxenberg navy.
With no fortification or any form of artillery available the pirates were stuck and vulnerable to bombardment. Once all ships were sunk the fleet's ships began to turn showing their starboard sides to the island.
Knowing no mercy the Grand Admiral ordered the ships to bombard the vulnerable island. Once again the harmony of cannon fire was sung. People, wood and sand began to fly around as the small pirate town was mercilessly getting destroyed.
After a small spurt of volleys, the admiral signalled for the soldiers stationed on each ship to prepare to land. Across the 7 ships in the Luxenberg fleet, there were 600 soldiers ready to storm the beach. Alongside the 600 soldiers were 400 crewmen who offered to join the landing assault.
Address his crew the Grand Admiral began to speak, "Sailors of the Luxenberg navy we are offered a chance to eradicate the pirate scourge that has plagued our waters for over a decade. I say now we kill all those scoundrels and offer no quarter to those who wish for it."
The men applauded and cheered as their morale soared. Filing into the landing boats Victor and the grand admiral turned to each other. Sharing a nod they turned back and watched as their swarm of boats began to row ashore. Rallying his men Victor cried out. "Let us kill some pirate dogs!"
With a heightened morale the men began to land on the beach of Fish Hook Island.
