"Commander Greyson. We heard you dealt with the assault before we arrived."
The leader of the taskforce one, Jonah Thiago voiced out as they came closer to Greyson.
Greyson raised his head to look at them.
"I didn't do it alone. I got help from the new recruitment. They sacrificed their lives to ensure that the city stayed safe, it's all thanks to them that we were able to handle the casualties without you guys."
Jonah nodded repeatedly to Greyson as he halted in front of Greyson, with his men behind him.
"They did well. It's all about sacrificing for the normal citizens. That is what the military is all about.
The day we signed up for the military is basically the day we die. Isn't that right, Commander Greyson."
Greyson gave Jonah a small nod.
"You are correct, but these men showed a lot of bravery. They just went through an awakening, and yet went into the battlefield to fight foes stronger than them.
I say they deserve to be praised and honored."
As Greyson finished, the lady among the squad chuckled.
"What a terrible experience it must've be for them. I can't imagine how they felt like when they saw death standing close to them. They must've peed the hell out of their pants."
With those words, the whole team burst out laughing. Jonah had a big smile on his face but it vanished immediately.
"Silence!"
He raised his voice for his men. They quickly put on a serious face.
"It hurts me that we didn't arrive on time. I will take my time to check the names of the soldiers that gave up their life today.
I must keep them in my heart. They will help me to push forward during difficult times."
Greyson was angry with their little laughter from a while ago, but what could he do.
"Since you are remembering their names, you should remember this one as well."
Greyson pointed at Jonathan, who was already coming to the scene.
The taskforces eyes moved to Jonathan, and Greyson introduced him.
"This is Jonathan Hayes. He is a top notch fighter among the new recruitment, and he helped me defeat the stage four Summoner."
The squad eyebrows raised a little when they heard Greyson remark.
They couldn't believe somebody that just went through an awakening was able to stand his own against a stage four Summoner.
"Tell us another, Joke."
The tallest guy in the squad voiced out, and everyone burst out laughing again, but they quickly stopped this time.
Jonah didn't partake in this laughter. He simply tapped Jonathan on his arms.
"Don't mind these boys, soldiers. You are going to do well on the battlefield. This is a good start for you, make sure you honor this beginning and make it your root, as your source to keep pushing on, even when it seems impossible."
Jonah looked at Jonathan in the face, only to see the terrifying glare Jonathan was giving him.
"Do you understand?"
He voice out as he tapped Jonathan on his shoulder. Jonathan simply removed Jonah's hands from his shoulder.
"I know what I need to do."
It sounded a bit strange in Jonah and the rest ears, but in Jonathan's ears, it was the perfect thing to say.
Jonah moved his attention back to Greyson.
"I heard you brought the Summoner alive. We will go interrogate him and see what he has for us."
"You should hurry on that."
Greyson sounded after a little hesitation.
With that, Jonah and his team walked past Jonathan and Greyson. Jonathan's eyes were red all through.
He already hated the taskforce one. He wished he could have an encounter with them in the future and kill them.
Perhaps, they will peed the hell out of their pants.
Jonathan squeezed his fist hard as he watched them leave.
"I thought we would be the ones to interrogate him."
Jonathan was surprised that Greyson wouldn't be the one to ask the Summoner questions.
"No. I don't get to do that, unless the base commander gives me permission."
Jonathan brow grew thicker when Greyson made mention of Charles Wesley.
That coward would never do the right thing.
"I should take my leave, Sir!"
Jonathan saluted again. He loved the way Greyson gave the credits to the dead soldiers. Commander Greyson was truly a good man.
Greyson returned the salute. Jonathan turned to leave but Greyson's words stopped him.
"Don't let their words get to you, soldier. You are a fine soldier and you will go beyond the state task force. I see you as part of Dreamway Knight"
Jonathan had no idea what that meant, but he saluted in response to it.
"Thank you, Sir!"
Jonathan walked away then. He had no idea what power the knight holds, but it was something higher than the taskforce.
There was still a lot he needed to learn in this world, apart from the power scaling. He needed to know the military structure of every country, so he would be able to foretell the little future he knew properly.
**
The security door of the Summoner opened and the taskforce entered. The summoner was awake now, but his eyes were red. He was giving off the pain expression.
Jonah didn't bother to look at the Summoner's face. He walked to the Summoner and double tapped the side of the headphone. With that, the loudness of the vibration reduced. This was the only way the Summoner would be able to even respond to them.
If it was a high stage Summoner, they wouldn't need to reduce the vibration and they wouldn't even be using the MDE manipulator. Not this version, but a higher one.
"Wake up, Alpha bag bag!"
Jonah said as he took a step back away from the summoner.
The Summoner raised his head to look at Jonah. His attention moved to the uniform Jonah was putting on, more like he was looking at the badge written on it.
Jonah looked straight into the Summoner eyes.
"I am going to ask you a few questions and you are going to answer them correctly. Otherwise.
Otherwise, I will increase the vibration to the maximum."
There was silence for a while before the Summoner burst out laughing.
"We both know how I got here, bastard."
Jonah's face darkened at that moment. He turned to face his team with deadly eyes.
"Leave us alone."
The team stepped out of the prison room and Jonah shut the door.
"You better do it right this time around. Otherwise, I will kill you myself."
Jonah said as he unlocked the handcuff and switched off the MDE manipulator.
The Summoner cheeks moved to his eyes.
"You wouldn't dare do such a thing, would you?"
Jonah didn't respond to his words. He came out of the room and shut the door locked instantly.
"He is such a psycho. We will deal with him later."
With that Jonah and his team walked away. A few minutes when they left. A small rat was seen forcing its way out of the Summoner's room. It successfully came out and started heading to the exit.
