Chapter 2 - Starting The Lord Simulation...

Sitting on his wooden throne, Augustus' hands tapped on the wooden armrests as he soon sighed of how he started with the most high-ranking lord talents, even two of them, yet he started with the weakest territory and subjects imaginable.

"From the knowledge I gained from the Will of the Supreme Plane, FFF-rank territory is even rarer than starting with an SSS-rank territory. At least, even a goblin territory will start with FF-rank rather than FFF-rank."

"Having slimes as the starting subjects is the only way to achieve the lowest territory rank imaginable. Welp, at least I'm making history."

Looking at it from the bright side, Augustus didn't let it get to him since there was no point in brooding over events that were out of his control.

At least, he'd rather much prefer starting with an FFF-rank territory but awakening two SSS-rank lord talents, compared to starting with SSS-rank territory and starting with two FFF-rank lord talents.

After getting over with his weak start, Augustus soon waved his hand and summoned the territory assessment interface that were available for all the lords's usage.

-Ding!

[Territory Assessment: FFF-rank]

[Territories: Slime Village]

[Subjects: 46 Blue Slimes]

[Notable Structures: Dilapidated Lord's Hall, Slime Lake]

Reading the stats shown in the territory assessment screen, Augustus muttered, "Well, I started with 46 blue slimes and I only have two notable structures in my territory."

"The Slime Lake is the spawn point of the slimes while the Lord's Hall is the living space that lords get to start with, and mine is dilapidated, damn."

"However, I can change that if I were to play the long game and use my two SSS-rank lord talents.

Remembering his SSS-rank Lord Simulator talent, Augustus waved his hand and summoned the interface of the Lord Simulator.

-Ding!

[The Lord Simulator can be activated daily to simulate the future up until your demise. However, it can also be activated beyond the free daily usage, but at the cost of consuming energy—whether mana, aura, or stamina—depending on what you choose to expend.]

-Ding!

[You currently have 1 free daily usage of the Lord Simulator. Do you want to start the Lord Simulation? Everything that occurs in the simulation reflects the future, where the 'you' in the simulation is your current self.]

[Please note that if you use the Lord Simulator again after the free daily usage, the simulated future may be altered, as the 'you' in the second simulation will possess knowledge of the events from the first simulation.]

[Additionally, any power-ups or external influences can also affect the simulated future. Therefore, use the Lord Simulator as a reference, but do not rely on it completely.]

-Ding!

[Do you want to use the Lord Simulator?]

[Yes] | [No]

After carefully reading the instructions and details regarding the Lord Simulator's usage, Augustus pressed the [Yes] button.

He was curious to see what might happen in the future.

After all, a wise man once said, "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles"

However, with the Lord Simulator, Augustus could know both the result of a hundred battles, his enemy, as well as himself. He was virtually unstoppable as long as he had enough time to prepare for the future he had foreseen.

[Starting the Lord Simulation…]

-Ding!

[You woke up and found out you are the Lord of an FFF-rank Slime Village.]

[You counted your subjects and discovered 46 blue slimes under your command. As their lord, they cannot disobey your orders.]

[You looked around your territory and saw two main structures: the Dilapidated Lord's Hall and the Slime Lake.]

[The Dilapidated Lord's Hall was your throne room and connected to your small bedroom. Some of the older and higher-ranking slimes stayed inside the hall with you.]

[The Slime Lake was a small body of water where most of your blue slimes lived. They rested and absorbed mana from the surroundings there.]

[The blue slimes didn't need human food to survive. They absorbed mana from the air or got nutrients from the soil. But you quickly realized that you, as a human, needed food to stay alive.]

[You ordered 20 slimes to go out and search for food. You told them to bring back anything edible, like berries, fruits, or small animals. The remaining slimes stayed in the village to guard you.]

[You waited in the Slime Village for hours as your hunger grew. Eventually, the slimes returned, but only 19 of the 20 came back.]

[Out of the 19 slimes, 15 brought berries and fruits, 2 carried a hare each, and 1 brought a small mana stone. One slime came back with nothing, and one didn't return at all.]

[You felt uneasy about the missing slime. Even though they were just blue slimes, they were still your loyal subjects.]

[You tried to use your lord authority to connect with the missing slime, but there was no response. This meant they were either killed or had wandered into another lord's territory.]

[Despite your concern, you knew you had to eat first. You ordered the slimes to gather wood and stones to start a campfire.]

[The Dilapidated Lord's Hall had basic utensils like a cooking pot and frying pan, but no tools to start a fire.]

[You scavenged for dry wood and tinder with the help of the slimes. Using shredded bark and dried grass, you fashioned a crude hand drill from a stick and a flat piece of wood.]

[The process was slow and exhausting. Your hands ached as you spun the stick between your palms to create friction. Sweat dripped from your face while the slimes silently watched, wobbling slightly as if curious.]

[After much effort, smoke appeared, and an ember formed in the wood. You carefully placed it into the tinder and blew gently until flames grew. Relief washed over you as the fire lit up the clearing outside the hall.]
