She was not here.
It had been three days since Bruce and Jayden took me to a local clinic to get my hand and bruises treated, that was the 'business' they had to attend to. I had not seen Jimbo for three days. I was patched up and returned to the house after the visit to the clinic, still a prisoner but with much more freedom. I was provided with two meals per day and a sleeping bag, and I was allowed to take baths but I was still stuck in my crop top and jeans. Getting me new clothes was where they drew the line. However, the torture tools remained in the dark room, a constant reminder or the danger I was in. I considered gaining courage to sneakily attack them but a gun would put bullet holes in me faster than I could swing my arms.
I had been cooperative and my testimony had been useless, providing no we information for them, seeing that they had already known where my mother's hideout town was. I assumed Jimbo had deemed me useless for having no additional information for him, which explained his absence. At some point, I wondered if they thought through the whole kidnapping thing.
I had no phone to reach out to Wu, and I was still a prisoner, just a prisoner with much less importance. I feared for my life. My first impression was that my mother sold me but that was not the case, she simply stole from them and they decided to get the next family member, only to hit a wall when it turned out they knew more than the family member herself.
They had found my mother's hideout the day before according to what I heard Bruce telling Jayden, but it looked like she had not been there for a while. I simply wondered what Jimbo planned to do with me because he did not seem like the nice type at all. While my current situation was not as bad as it was when I first got here, it was still very threatening, my life was in the hands of a heartless man and his underlings with slightly more compassion.
As I lay awake in my sleeping bag, I heard voices from outside the dark room, it did not sound like Jayden or Bruce, Jayden was the guy with the snake tattoo. The voices intensified and it sounded like people were arguing. I snuggled myself into my sleeping bag and try to pretend like I was sleeping if they decided to come and check up on me, or if they were arguing about whether to kill me or let me go.
The voices got louder and I squeezed my eyes shot as soon as the door flung open, I guessed my act was not really believable as I was shaking.
"Get up," a voice said, it did not sound like either of my prisoner's voice but it felt familiar, fearing for my life, I jumped up and faced four people, Jimbo, Bruce, Jayden and a new guy I had never seen before, but maybe I had seen him but I did not remember.
He looked younger than the three men and he was smiling at me.
"Don't talk to her like that," he retorted to Jimbo and smiled at me. He took in my appearance for a moment and blushed....
Blushed?
I was super confused but at least it did not look like they were here to kill me. I smiled back at him, still confused but I decided to go with the flow.
"I'm sorry it took me this long to come get you." He took my hands in his.
Who the fuck was this dude and why did he come get me? More importantly, where the fuck did, he want to take me to? I kept smiling though because whether I liked it or not, my life was still in their hands.
He looked down at my bandaged hand and frowned, his expression became dark and a bit scary.
"Who did this?" His tone was not the same sweet one he used moments ago; his voice was laced with anger. He gripped my wrists tightly and I winced. He raised my bandaged hand to his face then turned to the three men behind him.
"Who did this?" He repeated, sounding angrier than he did the first time he asked. I saw Jimbo swallow as he stared at the floor. He looked... Scared. Jayden and Bruce also stared at the floor; I didn't understand it. I didn't understand what was going on at all. Were they scared of this young boy? If so, who is the unnamed dude?
All of a sudden, Jimbo got on his knees and bowed. "I am deeply sorry; I had no idea she was with you. I'm am so sorry", his voice was mixed with fear. While I was still confused, I enjoyed the scene that was unfolding.
Well, I was enjoying it, until I heard an all too familiar sound and my body froze. It was the sound of a gun and it came from the person standing in front of me, I looked down at Jimbo to find his forehead pierced by a bullet. My stomach turned. I did not expect that at all. Jimbo's lifeless body fell to the ground and this strange boy decided to put more bullet holes in him.
He held on to my injured hand tightly with his left hand, he used his right hand to shoot his pistol. Where even did that gun come from? He dropped his gun to the floor and looked at me.
"Don't worry, he won't hurt you anymore," he says with a smile.
I fight the urge to drop his hands and run away. Who puts bullets in other people as easily as that and proceeds to smile afterwards? I took back whatever bad things I had said about Jimbo because the man that was standing in front of me seemed ten times worse than him.
Yes, Jimbo wasn't going to hurt me anymore but this mad man could.
