The battlefield was a chaotic maelstrom of explosions, gunfire, and twisted metal. The air was thick with the smell of burning ozone, and the ground beneath Dominic's feet seemed to tremble with every new strike. The Golden Titan had become an extension of his very will, its massive frame now moving with more precision, its weapons firing with deadly accuracy. But even with the tide beginning to turn in his favor, Dominic knew this was far from over.
His cockpit was alive with blinking red warnings, the display constantly reminding him of the damage his mech had sustained. He could feel the vibrations from the Golden Titan's failing systems in his bones. The core was unstable, and his neural implants were already starting to glitch, sending jolts of pain through his skull. The nightmares hadn't stopped. In fact, they had only intensified, haunting him with every thought. But there was no time to deal with them now. The fight was all that mattered.
Dominic's eyes narrowed as another CMC juggernaut approached, its hulking form closing in from the east. It was another massive machine, an upgraded version of the ones he had fought earlier, bristling with weaponry. The pilot's voice crackled over the comms, mocking him.
"You're outmatched, UOP dog. Surrender, and maybe you'll get a quick death."
Dominic's fingers clenched around the controls. "I don't surrender," he muttered, almost to himself. The Golden Titan's massive engines roared as he charged forward, his feet pounding the ground in a rhythm that shook the very earth beneath him.
The juggernaut opened fire first, a barrage of heavy artillery shells coming at him. Dominic swerved his mech to the side, narrowly avoiding the impact. The Golden Titan's massive arm rose, and with a twist of the wrist, he launched a volley of energy blasts from the mech's shoulder cannons. The shots hit the juggernaut's shields, causing them to flicker and spark, but they didn't break. The juggernaut retaliated with a plasma blast that sent a shockwave through the air.
Dominic gritted his teeth. He needed to outsmart it, not just overpower it. His mind raced as he analyzed the situation. The juggernaut was powerful, but slow. And if he could just get close enough, he could exploit its weak points.
With a growl of determination, Dominic activated the Titan's thrusters and rocketed toward the juggernaut, the giant machine leaping into the air in a blaze of white-hot flames. The enemy pilot opened fire again, but Dominic had already anticipated the move. With a swift twist of the controls, the Golden Titan dodged the incoming fire, landing with a thunderous crash behind the juggernaut.
Before the CMC pilot could react, Dominic drove the Titan's fist into the juggernaut's exposed back, sending a shockwave through its frame. Sparks flew as the fist collided with the machine's vital systems, and the juggernaut's movements slowed. Dominic didn't waste any time. He activated the Titan's energy blade, a brilliant sword of blue plasma that hummed with power.
The juggernaut twisted around, trying to bring its weapons to bear, but Dominic was faster. With a swift and precise strike, he sliced the juggernaut's arm clean off at the shoulder, sending the massive limb flying through the air.
"Not today," Dominic muttered, his voice cold with determination.
The juggernaut staggered, its movements becoming sluggish. Dominic pressed the attack, driving the plasma blade through the chest plate, cutting deep into the mech's core. The juggernaut let out a mechanical groan as it fell to the ground, its systems shutting down one by one.
Dominic stood over the wreckage, panting heavily, sweat beading on his forehead despite the cold chill in the air. The Golden Titan's systems flickered again, and he could feel the strain on his own body, but he didn't care. He wasn't done yet. Not by a long shot.
The enemy mechs were retreating, some of them broken, others still firing desperately in the distance. Dominic didn't wait for them to regroup. He was on a roll, and he wasn't going to stop until the last CMC mech was nothing more than scrap metal.
With a final roar, the Golden Titan charged forward once again, its massive feet pounding the earth as it tore through the battlefield. The remaining CMC mechs were beginning to fall, one by one, unable to match the fury and precision of Dominic's assault.
"Keep pushing forward!" Lox's voice crackled in his ear, her words filled with resolve. "We've got this!"
Dominic didn't respond. His mind was focused entirely on the battle. His mech was beginning to overheat, but there was no stopping now. The battle was his to win.
And so, the tide began to turn.
