Chapter 25 - Bloodline and Destiny

Bloodline was a simple term, but if one was to explain it, the concept was quite complex. To first understand the bloodline, one must first understand what blood was. In simple terms, blood was lesser life energy. It was the connection to one's life energy, a regulator that prevented the body from burning too much energy at once. Without this regulator, the general life expectancy of a human would be greatly reduced.

Each person had a unique gene, meaning everyone's blood had a distinct energy pattern, recognized by the world. So, the moment a human transcended to the king level, they would acquire an innate ability, available not only to them but also to their descendants who carried their genes. It was like gaining an exclusive ability, passed down through generations. Thus, the term bloodline.

It didn't matter when one transcended, before or after birthing; as long as they reached the king level, their offspring would be able to tap into some of their abilities. This was the fundamental concept of bloodlines.

...............

Leo narrated everything to his parents, from his kidnapping to his current position. He left out some details, like Lindon and the sword, but shared enough to give them a clear understanding of his journey. As they listened to his story, both parents were filled with guilt and anger. Guilt for not being there for their son, and anger towards the person they suspected was responsible for his kidnapping - the twisted scientist, Kamar Singh.

The so-called savior of humanity was not as good as he seemed. In truth, he was a madman who posed a threat equal to that of the Lunarians. Clifford and Sarah exchanged a suspicious glance, their eyes betraying their thoughts. They didn't believe in coincidences, especially when it came to Kamar Singh. It was too convenient that Leo had awakened near the city where they both resided. This was obviously part of some scheme, but they had no choice but to play along. After all, this was their long-lost son.

"We can't announce his identity," Clifford said, his voice low and serious. "I'll speak to those clan members who are aware of his identity."

It was logical. How would the world react to the news that a child from seventy years ago was still alive? And not just any child, but the first-made god? The waves of chaos that would ensue would not be good, especially now that humanity was preparing for their final war with the Lunarians.

"Let him come with me," Sarah suggested, her voice transmitted mentally to Clifford. "At the end of this year, the government is opening an ancient remnant for master-level experts. I'll make sure he progresses fast enough to participate."

Clifford nodded, and they both turned their attention to Leo. They took their time introducing themselves, with Sarah doing most of the talking. Her speech was laced with excitement, and her eyes sparkled with love. Leo was filled with awe, listening to his parents' stories. He had never imagined that his parents were godlike beings, at the peak of humanity's power.

As they spoke, Leo felt a sense of pride and belonging. He was happy to have finally found his parents, and he knew that he had a lot to learn from them. But as the day wore on, Sarah's expression turned serious.

"Leo, I have some business to attend to in a nearby city," she said, her voice firm. "You'll be staying with Old Joe, a trainer who will help you grow stronger."

Leo nodded, and Sarah took him to the military academy at the ground level of the cyber tower. The academy was bustling with activity, and Leo's eyes widened as he took in the sights and sounds. Sarah handed him over to Old Joe, a grizzled old man with a fit body and a kind face.

"Old Joe will teach you the ways of the dimensional path," Sarah explained. "You need to reach master level by the end of six months. It's a challenging task, but I know you can do it."

Leo nodded, determination burning within him. He was ready to learn, to grow stronger, and to make his parents proud.

As Sarah left, Leo turned to Old Joe, his eyes filled with questions. "What's the dimensional path?" he asked, his voice eager.

Old Joe smiled, his eyes twinkling. "Ah, my young friend, the dimensional path is a journey of discovery. It's a way of understanding the fundamental principles of the universe, and harnessing their power."

Leo's eyes widened as Old Joe began to explain the different levels of power - Beginner, Expert, Master, Grandmaster, Ancient Lord, King, Emperor, and Sovereign. He listened intently, his mind absorbing the information like a sponge.

The days turned into weeks, and Leo threw himself into his training. He learned about the different dimensions, and how to access their energy. He discovered that higher-dimensional creatures could access lower-dimensional principles, but with limitations. They could never wield the energy as freely as creatures native to that dimension.

Leo's understanding of the dimensional path deepened, and he began to see the world in a new light. He realized that every action, every decision, had consequences that rippled across dimensions.

As he trained, Leo faced challenges that tested his resolve and his abilities. He sparred with experts, honing his skills and learning from his mistakes. He delved into the mysteries of the sword, unlocking new secrets and techniques.

Old Joe watched him with a keen eye, offering guidance and encouragement. "You have a natural talent, Leo," he said. "But talent alone is not enough. You must cultivate your skills, and temper them with experience."

Leo nodded, his determination burning brighter than ever. He was driven by a desire to make his parents proud, to prove himself worthy of their legacy.

As the months passed, Leo grew stronger, his abilities expanding exponentially. He began to see the world as a complex tapestry, woven from threads of energy and dimension.

After the first month of training, he stepped into the beginner level, as he condensed his core. The third month of training, he stepped into the expert level, as he had started to fill his core with energy (gaseous form). Then, on the final month, he stepped into the master level, further condensing his energy.

And finally, the time had come for him to enter the ancient remnant with the others. From his inquiries, he discovered that the so-called ancient remnant was a dimensional zone, one for lord-level beings. Those of the younger generation were mostly sent into the zone because of the strange nature of the zone, which gave rewards after killing the dimensional beasts that dwelled within.

He couldn't help but feel a burn of anticipation for the incoming event. The phantom castle, the nexus citadel, and the cyber castle stood as majestic as ever, but Leo's focus was on the ancient remnant.

...... The Nexus Citadel.......

Meanwhile, in a hidden corner of the cyber castle, a mysterious door led to a secret room. The room was shrouded in darkness, and only those with the highest clearance could enter. Inside the room, Michael, the head of the House of Phantom, stood in a bowing position, his eyes fixed on a blurry projection.

"Have you gotten the relic ready?" a voice asked, echoing through the room.

Michael answered, his voice sounding subservient. "I've indeed acquired the relic, and I've already prepared the chance for it to fall into his hands."

The ancient relic they were talking about was held in Michael's arms, and it bore a striking resemblance to the sword in Leo's consciousness.

"Good," the voice said. "I want everything to be in place by the time I'm back."

The projection ended, leaving Michael to stand up, his eyes projecting a solemn look. The fate of Leo and the world hung in the balance, and the ancient relic was just the beginning.
