Raziel saw several notifications pop up:
[Your Contract Beast, nickname: Avril, has successfully awakened her Talent. You have obtained a complete Contract Beast and gained the special ability "Contract Space."]
[Your Contract Beast has awakened her Talent. You have received the full first Talent feedback, all attributes increased by ten.]
At that moment, Raziel's status panel displayed:
[Player: Raziel]
[Level: 3]
[Attributes: Strength 13]
[Constitution 13]
[Agility 13]
[Energy 13]
[Skill: None]
[Talent: Contractor (Divine-level)]
[Potential: Unknown]
"Turns out that the Talent feedback from obtaining a Contract Beast includes an attribute boost. Since Avril's Talent hadn't awakened earlier, it was missed. But now it's being compensated."
"Azure-Flamed Empress, indeed!"
"The feedback is ridiculously strong!"
With all attributes at 13, Raziel couldn't help but marvel. He had spent so much time grinding monsters, leveling up just once, and only gaining a single point in each attribute. But with Avril awakening her Talent, it was like he had jumped ten levels instantly!
Incredible power!
As for the newly acquired Contract Space, Raziel checked it out:
[Contract Space]
[Type: Special]
[Description: A special space formed from the Contractor's primal power. It will grow in strength alongside the Contractor, adding new effects.]
[Current Effect: ① Stores the Contract Beast, keeping it in a comfortable state, continuously recovering its wounds, stamina, and energy.]
"Well, this could be quite useful."
"Though, maybe not that useful."
Raziel muttered to himself.
The Contract Space was definitely practical. It would help restore the Contract Beast's health and energy. Plus, it prevented the Contractor from needing to carry around a giant beast when traveling.
The problem, though, was that Raziel wasn't sure if he could bring Avril with him in the Contract Space.
He pondered, then suddenly his body flashed, and at that very moment, a level-six wild monster, a Lycanroc with Mane, emerged from the forest behind him.
The wolf, with its mouth dripping foul-smelling mucus, was about to lunge at him, but Raziel raised his hand and thrust it backward.
Flames erupted from his palm.
Whoosh!
The agile wolf's body was quickly reduced to ashes by the scorching fire.
[You have killed...]
Raziel ignored the notification that popped up, his expression stern.
He could still hear strange noises coming from the trees behind him.
Raziel was preparing to deal with the newly emerged enemy when a notification suddenly rang in his ears:
[Congratulations, Host! Your waiting has paid off!]
[The System has now granted your free King-level potential Contract Beast!]
[You will receive the Contract Beast: [Calamity: Swarm of Insects]]
"Finally, it's here!?"
Raziel's mood lifted, but at the same time, a sense of caution began to rise within him.
He wasn't foolish enough to completely trust the System, which had a tendency to mess things up!
However, as he heard the name of the Contract Beast, his heart skipped a beat.
To be named Calamity, that beast had to be a Calamity-level BOSS!
Such creatures were known for triggering monster rampages, attacking major cities, and were terrifyingly powerful.
To deal with them, all the human factions of the world had united and created an organization called the Heaven-Hunting Team.
The Heaven-Hunting Team gathered talent worldwide, constantly training the strongest warriors to hunt down Calamity BOSSes, while also guiding promising newcomers to hunt down Calamity BOSS larvae those that hadn't fully grown into their monstrous forms yet.
Every year, countries contributed vast amounts of resources and funds to the Heaven-Hunting Team, and no nation objected. It was vital for humanity's survival!
The significance of the Heaven-Hunting Team was immense, and so was the threat posed by the Calamity-level BOSSes to mankind!
Of course, now that a Calamity BOSS might become his Contract Beast...
Raziel thought, I have no objections!
At this moment, he had a rough guess. [The Calamity: Swarm of Insects] was probably still in an undeveloped state, much like the Azure-Flamed Empress.
If it had reached its full form, just its presence in the vicinity would be enough to exude a terrifying aura, one strong enough to crush Raziel on the spot.
So, he patiently waited.
Raziel guessed that the Calamity: Swarm of Insects might appear somewhat intimidating, especially since insect-like monsters in the textbooks from his training academy were known to be particularly grotesque and terrifying.
He mentally prepared himself, making sure not to display any strange expressions.
After all, even though Contract Beasts were one hundred percent loyal after being contracted, this was going to be his companion for life. He couldn't afford to show any signs of disdain or dislike.
After a series of faint rustling sounds, a figure clad in what looked like armored shell plating stumbled out from the trees, its body glowing with green and blue blood stains.
Her exoskeleton was nearly completely shattered, exposing large areas of smooth, pale skin.
That skin wasn't just white as snow, but unnaturally smooth, almost to the point of being surreal. To make a strange comparison, it looked like one of those female characters from a 3D animated film.
It could only be described as perfect.
Then, when she noticed Raziel's gaze, the figure, which looked almost like a young girl, slightly tilted her head and revealed a delicate, tear-streaked face soft and pitiful.
This face alone gave Raziel a significant shock.
It was exceptionally beautiful, almost otherworldly.
It looked like a masterpiece sculpted by the finest artist.
In terms of pure beauty, only Avril could rival her, if not slightly surpass her.
But Raziel wasn't a native of this world. He was a transmigrator, and in his past life, he had seen countless women who had undergone cosmetic enhancements.
With such a standard of comparison, this girl could still only be second to Avril her beauty was undeniable.
And it wasn't just her looks.
Upon seeing the girl, Raziel felt a wave of dizziness.
He couldn't help but feel an intense desire to give everything to the "person" before him.
But then…
A sudden flash from an item in his backpack illuminated the surroundings with blinding light, accompanied by strange noises that spread outward.
The girl, already heavily injured, had her charm ability greatly diminished, but with the sudden activation of the System item, the shock snapped Raziel back to his senses.
He realized what was happening.
"Wait a minute! Calamity: Swarm of Insects, is... a woman?"
"No, wait!"
"She's appearing as a young girl, but… is this her true form?"
As a transmigrator who had been exposed to many cultural products, Raziel could accept this setting.
But he couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear. If it hadn't been for the strange item left by the System, he might have been completely controlled by the Calamity BOSS before him.
That would have meant life or death in her grasp.
"Human, take me out of here, and I will grant you the reward you seek."
Raziel snapped back to reality as the Calamity: Swarm of Insects before him remained unaware of the shift.
Instead, she arrogantly used telepathy to communicate.
At the same time, a detection panel provided by the System appeared in Raziel's view:
[Name: Calamity: Swarm of Insects]
[Level: 5]
[Type: BOSS]
[Attributes: Strength: 5, Constitution: 5, Agility: 5, Energy: 30]
[Skills: Enchant Humans, Telepathy, Swarm of Insects Creation (currently weakened, unable to use)]
[Talent: Heart of the Swarm of Insects (A+) (currently weakened, unable to use)]
[Potential Rating: King-level]
"Just as I thought… it's her!"
"Her Talent is actually A+, not just A?!"
"Holy shit!"
Raziel's expression froze in shock.
Normally, Calamity-level BOSSs had A-level Talents. But the girl before him had a Talent even stronger than that. This meant that once she fully grew, she could become a huge threat to the Republic, and countless people might die because of her.
Fortunately...
"If I don't descend into hell, who will?"
"For the Republic, I must accept you!"
Raziel had previously witnessed the formidable effects of the Holy Spirit Contract spell. At this moment, he merely pretended to be under its control as he walked forward.
The main reason for this was that the System's panel had revealed the "girl's" status in alarming detail.
She was severely injured and couldn't use any abilities at most, she could only try to charm him.
But Raziel was already immune to this effect.
He took several steps forward and pulled a fruit out of his backpack.
"This can heal you."
Raziel acted as though he was still under her control.
The girl, who had once appeared pitiful, suddenly showed a flicker of desire in her eyes.
Her instincts deep down were constantly urging her…
Eat the fruit quickly!
Once consumed, it would bring immense benefits to her.
Without hesitation, the girl dashed forward, snatched the fruit from his hand, and swallowed it.
Immediately, a rush of heat surged through her body.
A satisfied expression spread across her flawless face as she raised her delicate arms and stretched her waist, revealing a graceful curve that was now completely exposed to Raziel's gaze.
"Human, what are you staring at...?"
The girl sneered, preparing to deliver a slight punishment.
Although she was a monster, she had absorbed the memories of several girls and knew a thing or two about human values. In her mind, Raziel had already been sentenced to death.
She just needed to wait until they left this forest...
Then, she would reward him...
And turn him into part of her nourishment.
But just as she was about to act...
She suddenly felt the fruit transform into a terrifying golden energy, rapidly surging through her body.
A look of panic flashed in her eyes, but she couldn't move.
The girl found herself frozen in place, unable to move at all.
