Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

He looked back at his stats, a new appreciation dawning. The numbers weren't just arbitrary figures; they represented his potential, his capacity for growth. And with Aurora's guidance, and his newly discovered ability to learn and adapt magic, he felt an unstoppable surge of confidence. This was more than just a game; this was a journey, a thrilling adventure into a world of magic and wonder. And he was ready.

Aurora says " Shawn, you have 10 points you can use. What are you going to use it for?" Shawn thinks for a moment and says " I am going to hold off on using them for now, I need more information about my stats before I do anything " Aurora, perched on Shawn's shoulder, tilted her head, a thoughtful expression on her tiny face. "Very well," she chirped, "but know that those points are valuable. They'll allow you to increase your stats, making you stronger, faster, or more intelligent. We can discuss them later, once you've had a chance to explore the stats screen further." She paused, then added with a mischievous grin, "Perhaps we could even find a way to use them to enhance my abilities as well?"

Shawn nodded, a thoughtful expression on his face. He decided to explore the stats window more closely. He tapped on the "Skills" section, and a submenu appeared, revealing more information about his "Magical Learning A+" skill. It explained that this skill allowed him to quickly learn and understand magical principles, improving his ability to absorb and replicate spells. The higher the level of the skill, the faster and more efficient he would be at learning new spells and then give that spell over to his summon.

He then tapped on his "Intelligence" stat. A tooltip appeared, explaining that Intelligence affected his magical aptitude, his ability to solve complex problems, and his speed of learning . He also checked his "Wisdom" stat, which influenced his magical control, his ability to resist magical effects, and his understanding of mystical concepts.

Finally, he focused on his "Charisma" stat, surprised by how high it was. The tooltip explained that Charisma affected his ability to influence others, his leadership skills, and his ability to negotiate or persuade. He found this particularly intriguing, as he'd never considered himself particularly charismatic.

After carefully studying his stats, Shawn felt a newfound confidence. He understood the importance of those 10 stat points and the strategic decision of holding off on spending them. The information he'd gained from exploring his stats screen had given him a deeper understanding of his abilities and potential. Then Shawn thought does Summoner has a tooltip too? That when the Summoner tooltip popped up and said

Summoner (Active)- It an Active ability that allows you to summon your companion. the Summoner share states with his/her companion. 10 points of strength or agility increase your Summon HP by 5. 10 Points of Intelligence or Wisdom increase Mp for your companion by 5.

Shawn pondered the Summoner tooltip, a thoughtful expression on his face. The interconnectedness of his stats and Aurora's was fascinating. Boosting his Strength or Agility directly benefited Aurora's HP, while improving his Intelligence or Wisdom enhanced her MP. This meant he could strategically allocate his stat points to maximize both his and Aurora's combat effectiveness.

"Aurora," he said, turning to his fairy companion, "so, if I put those 10 points into Strength and Agility, that would give you an extra 10 HP, right? 5 points each?"

Aurora, perched on his shoulder, nodded rapidly. "Precisely! And that's a significant boost, especially at our current level. More HP means we can withstand more damage before going down."

Shawn considered this carefully. While he valued intelligence and wisdom, the immediate benefits of increased HP were undeniable. In a world filled with dangers, survivability was paramount.

"Okay," he decided, a determined glint in his eyes. "Let's do it. Five points in Strength, and five points in Agility."

He focused his attention on the stats window, mentally willing the change. The numbers shifted, the translucent window flickering momentarily before settling on the new values.

"There," Shawn announced, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "Now we're talking." He felt stronger, more agile, and a newfound confidence surged within him. The strategic allocation of his stat points had not only improved his own abilities but had also significantly enhanced Aurora's survivability. They were a team, a powerful duo ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Aurora says" Shawn trying summoning me. I think that when I am summoned, it will increase my stats based off your charisma"

Shawn, excited by the prospect, focused his mind on Aurora. He closed his eyes, picturing her image vividly in his mind - the delicate wings, the shimmering gown, the mischievous glint in her eyes. He felt a connection, a deep bond that transcended the physical realm. He whispered the words, "Aurora!"

A warmth spread through his chest, a tingling sensation that flowed outwards. When he opened his eyes, Aurora was there, no longer a tiny figure perched on his shoulder, but standing before him in her full glory. She was larger now, about the size of a small bird, her features more defined, her wings shimmering with an ethereal light. The air around her crackled with energy.

"Amazing!" Shawn breathed, awestruck by the transformation. Aurora's appearance had changed significantly, her form more substantial and radiant. The mischievous glint in her eyes was still there, but now it held a hint of power, of something ancient and potent.

"Indeed," Aurora chirped, her voice carrying a newfound resonance. "And as you can see, my stats have improved!"

A new stats window appeared, this time displaying only Aurora's information:

Aurora's Stats

Name: Aurora

Level: 1

Type: Fairy Queen

HP: 35/35

MP: 110/110

Abilities: Illusion (Level 1), Healing (Level 1), Locked Abilities

"My HP and MP have both increased," she explained, "thanks to your high Charisma. The higher your Charisma, the more powerful my summoned form will be."

Shawn stared at the numbers, a grin spreading across his face. His high Charisma wasn't just a random stat; it was a key element in Aurora's strength. This was more than just a partnership; it was a symbiotic relationship, where their strengths complemented and amplified each other. He couldn't wait to see what other surprises this unique bond held.

Shawn says " Awesome!!!! now we need to come up with a plan for tomorrow. We have to pick a school we should go to."

"A plan, you say?" Aurora zipped around Shawn's head, a whirlwind of iridescent light. "Excellent! Let's strategize. First, we need information. What schools are even available in Eden? What are their specializations? Do they cater to Summoners? And most importantly, what are their entrance requirements?"

Shawn nodded, already pulling out his datapad. "I've been doing some preliminary research. There are three main academies within a reasonable distance: The Royal Academy of Magic, known for its rigorous curriculum and focus on traditional magic; the Eden Academy of Combat, which specializes in warrior training and hand-to-hand combat; and the less-known Mystical Summoning Academy, a smaller institution focused on… well, you can guess."

Aurora landed on his shoulder, tapping a tiny finger against his cheek. "The Mystical Summoning Academy seems like the obvious choice, wouldn't you agree? It's tailored to our specific needs, and we'll likely find more support and resources there."

Shawn considered this. "It does seem ideal," he admitted, "but we should still look at the others. The Royal Academy might offer valuable insights into different magical systems, and the Combat Academy could provide valuable combat skills to complement our summoning abilities. Perhaps we could cross-train?"

Aurora hummed thoughtfully. "Cross-training sounds like a good idea, but it would require careful planning to manage our time effectively. We could potentially audit classes at the other academies while focusing our primary studies at the Mystical Summoning Academy. That way we get the best of all worlds, but it's a more challenging path."

Shawn smiled. "A challenge we're ready for. Let's gather more information on all three academies, compare their curriculums, and then decide. Tomorrow morning, we'll make our final decision and head over for enrollment. How does that sound?"

Aurora zipped in a small circle, her wings shimmering with excitement. "Perfect! Now, let's get back to researching those academies. I'm particularly interested in seeing what magical creatures they have!"
