The aftermath of the battle made the atmosphere on Youfeng Street even more oppressive.
Broken debris littered the ground, and the air was thick with waves of spiritual energy and a barely perceptible chill.
Aries stood firm, holding his spear, his body radiating a blazing golden light. In a low, commanding voice, he shouted:
"Spear of Destruction!"
His spear instantly burst forth with dazzling brilliance, condensing immense spiritual energy. Like a meteor piercing the heavens, it roared straight toward the Ghost King.
Adam followed closely, his body emanating golden energy waves. He let out a furious roar:
"Primordial Burst!"
Power converged between his fists into a radiant pillar of light, thundering toward the Ghost King with devastating force. The two powerful attacks carried an air of destruction, causing even the air to tremble.
The Ghost King snorted coldly, waving both hands in the air. Black mist rapidly coalesced into a massive, impenetrable shield, blocking the brunt of the two attacks.
The Spear of Destruction and Primordial Burst collided with the shield, producing a deafening explosion that sent a layer of dust flying into the air. When the dust settled, the Ghost King remained standing. Although the shield was riddled with cracks, it had not completely shattered.
"Is this the extent of your strength? And you hope to challenge me?" the Ghost King sneered, his deep, mocking voice filled with disdain as he glanced at Aries and Adam, seemingly unbothered by their power.
In an instant, the Ghost King moved, appearing directly in front of Wilk. The black mist around him transformed into claws, aiming straight for Wilk's chest.
Wilk's gaze sharpened as he swiftly raised his hand and shouted:
"Spirit Shield!"
A transparent spiritual barrier formed in front of him, blocking the Ghost King's claws. However, the immense force behind the attack forced Wilk to stumble back several steps, beads of cold sweat forming on his forehead.
He gritted his teeth, straining to hold the Spirit Shield in place, doing his best to resist the Ghost King's overwhelming pressure.
"Impressive, boy. You managed to block my strike," the Ghost King said with a cold chuckle, his tone laced with disdain. Before his words had fully landed, his attack intensified.
The black mist morphed into countless tendrils, surging toward Wilk with terrifying speed.
At that critical moment, Jay acted decisively. His hands moved rapidly, forming seals as lightning gathered at his fingertips.
"Thunderflash Curse!"
A bolt of lightning descended from the heavens, striking the Ghost King with ferocious force. Simultaneously, Wilk steadied himself, his spirit spear gleaming with a cold light as he roared:
"Spirit Spear Thrust!"
His spear transformed into a streak of light, joining the lightning in attacking the Ghost King.
The Ghost King furrowed his brows, his black mist forming a shield once again to intercept the attacks.
This time, however, the cracks on the shield grew more pronounced, with some fragments even shattering. The Ghost King's expression darkened slightly as he muttered coldly:
"You pesky little insects… you do have some skill."
Aries and Adam seized the opportunity, giving the Ghost King no chance to breathe as they launched another assault.
Aries thrust his spear forward once more, its tip glowing with destructive light. Adam, using his spiritual energy to strengthen his fists, coordinated with Aries to mount a relentless offensive. The two worked seamlessly, one attacking and the other defending, pressing the Ghost King to his limits.
Yet, the Ghost King's strength was overwhelmingly powerful. Even under their combined assault, he remained composed. The black mist surrounding him continuously shifted forms—sometimes transforming into sharp blades, other times forming cages—forcing Aries and Adam to retreat repeatedly. His counterattacks grew fiercer, each strike carrying destructive force that left the surrounding buildings in ruins.
"Damn it, how is his defense so impenetrable?"
Wilk muttered through gritted teeth, his breathing heavy as he gazed at the Ghost King with a grave expression.
His spiritual energy was already heavily depleted, but he refused to back down.
"Stay focused! His power may be strong, but it's not invincible!"
Jay said firmly, his sharp eyes fixed on the Ghost King's every move. He understood that this battle needed to end quickly.
The longer it dragged on, the more their spiritual energy would be drained, while the Ghost King's dominance would only grow stronger.
As the battle intensified, Youfeng Street had become a wasteland. The surrounding buildings were nearly obliterated, the ground riddled with deep cracks and craters. The air was thick with the lingering presence of spiritual energy and a faint, scorching scent.
Despite being slightly overpowered, Jay and Wilk refused to falter. They knew this was not just a fight for survival but also an unyielding trial. They had to find a breakthrough and bring the Ghost King down once and for all!
The tension in the battle grew heavier within Youfeng Street. The air was thick with spiritual energy fluctuations, and the crumbling buildings around them were no longer able to withstand the relentless clashes. Bricks shattered, and dust filled the air.
Ares raised his spear high, golden spiritual energy condensing into a blazing beam of light—his signature skill, [Heaven's Execution]! His entire body surged with energy as he roared:
"This time, you won't escape!" The spear shot forward like a meteor streaking across the sky, aimed directly at the Demon King.
Adam followed closely, his dual blades glowing with a vibrant green hue, imbued with the life force of [Blades of Vitality]!
"Demon King, feel the power of this attack!"
Adam growled, his twin blades unleashing two intersecting arcs of light, slicing through the air with ferocious wind pressure and slashing toward the Demon King.
The Demon King bellowed, dark mist surging around him.
He swung a massive claw-like shadow, attempting to repel the combined assault. But the barrage of powerful strikes began to take its toll; his claw shattered, and his protective mist thinned noticeably.
"Well done!" Jay shouted. His hands swiftly formed seals, electricity crackling at his fingertips as he roared:
"[Thunderflash Spell]!"
A massive bolt of lightning descended from the heavens, striking the ground beneath the Demon King's feet, forcing him into a sluggish retreat.
Seeing an opening, Wilk's spear glimmered with radiant light once more as he called out:
"[Lance Strike]!"
The spear shot forward like a meteor, its trajectory locked onto the Demon King's chest.
The Demon King raised his claw again, attempting to defend himself, but the relentless attacks were clearly wearing him down. His roar echoed through the street:
"You think you can defeat me like this? Fools!"
Despite his bluster, Jay and the others noticed the obvious: his movements were slowing.
"He's being suppressed!" Ares observed coolly, his sharp eyes analyzing the battle. Turning to Adam, he said, "Now, we finish this together!"
Adam nodded, his twin blades glowing brighter. He muttered:
"[Primordial Burst]!"
A powerful wave of spiritual energy erupted from his blades, surging toward the Demon King and driving him further back.
At the same time, Wilk, with his spear in hand and a glowing shield at his side, continuously searched for gaps in the Demon King's defense, working in tandem with Adam to draw his attention.
Jay stood at a distance, his control over lightning precise and unrelenting. Bolt after bolt struck the Demon King, limiting his movements and trapping him in a confined space.
"The moment has come!" Ares' eyes burned with determination.
He raised his spear high, his entire being surging with golden energy. A radiant glow, like the blazing sun, emanated from him. In a low, commanding voice, he invoked his ultimate technique:
"[Divine Storm of War]!"
Above, the sky began to churn as golden storms gathered, forming a massive vortex of spiritual energy. It descended with an unstoppable force, aimed squarely at the Demon King.
The Demon King stared at the oncoming storm, a flicker of shock crossing his face. Gritting his teeth, he roared and summoned another barrier of black mist in a desperate bid to hold it back.
Adam shouted, pouring the last of his strength into his dual blades.
"You won't escape this final strike!" His [Fist of Revelation] smashed into the Demon King's barrier with immense force.
The spiritual energy clash shook all of Youfeng Street as the golden storm consumed the Demon King's mist and obliterated his defenses. His defiant roar gradually faded into silence, his figure swallowed by the blinding light.
When the storm subsided, the Demon King knelt on one knee, his spiritual energy nearly depleted. His presence, once overwhelming, was now but a faint echo of its former self.
"To think... I'd fall to mere whelps like you. Unbelievable... Unbelievable." The Demon King glared at Jay and the others with bitter hatred.
