Chapter 143 - Chapter 139: "Sticky Situations and Liquid Gold"

The journey to the Valley of Liquid Gold began with high spirits and low expectations. After their sugary showdown at Sprinkle Summit, the trio hoped for a less chaotic experience. But deep down, they knew better.

Arrival at the Valley of Liquid Gold

When they arrived, the valley was breathtaking. Rivers of golden honey flowed between lush fields of wildflowers, their sweet aroma wafting through the air. Giant bees the size of Kazuya's head buzzed lazily, their striped bodies gleaming in the sunlight.

Sylvara twirled in delight, her Cupcake Crown glittering atop her head. "This place is magical! And look at those bees! So fluffy!"

Kazuya squinted at the bees warily. "Too fluffy. They look like they've been working out."

Ravynne smirked. "You're just worried one of them will carry you off like a snack."

"Snacks don't wield swords," Kazuya shot back.

"That's debatable," Ravynne muttered under her breath.

The Honey Thieves

As they ventured deeper into the valley, they came across a bizarre scene: a gang of raccoons, dressed in tiny bandit outfits, were robbing one of the giant beehives. The leader, a particularly plump raccoon wearing a monocle, barked orders in a series of squeaks and chitters.

Sylvara gasped. "Look at them! They're like little furry pirates!"

Kazuya blinked. "They're stealing honey. Is that… normal?"

"Nothing about this quest has been normal," Ravynne replied.

The raccoons noticed the group and immediately turned defensive. The leader squeaked something incomprehensible, and the gang drew tiny weapons made of twigs and thorns.

Sylvara clapped her hands. "They're so cute! Can we keep them?"

"They're about to attack us," Kazuya pointed out, drawing his sword.

"Oh, right. Let's tame them after."

Battle of the Bees and Bandits

The fight was chaotic and sticky—literally. The raccoons proved to be surprisingly agile, leaping from tree to tree and flinging honey bombs at the group. One particularly bold raccoon tried to steal Kazuya's sword, chittering angrily when it couldn't lift the blade.

Meanwhile, the bees finally noticed the commotion. Deciding that everyone was an enemy, they swarmed in, creating a buzzing cloud of golden chaos.

"This is ridiculous!" Ravynne shouted, firing bolts at the raccoons while dodging bees. "Why are we always in the middle of food-related wars?"

Kazuya swatted at a bee with his sword, grimacing as honey dripped onto his clothes. "Because someone," he glanced pointedly at Sylvara, "keeps touching things they shouldn't!"

Sylvara was too busy trying to charm the raccoon leader to notice. "You're such a brave little guy! Do you want to join our team?"

The raccoon leader squeaked indignantly and threw a honey bomb at her face.

The Honeyed Chalice Revealed

Amid the chaos, a loud rumble shook the valley. The bees and raccoons froze as the ground split open, revealing a hidden chamber. In the center of the chamber was a pedestal holding the Honeyed Chalice, a golden goblet that shimmered with an otherworldly light.

Kazuya groaned. "Of course. It's never just sitting there, is it?"

Before anyone could react, the raccoon leader squeaked triumphantly and made a break for the chalice, followed closely by the bees.

"Not on my watch!" Sylvara shouted, diving into the fray.

What followed was a ridiculous free-for-all. Kazuya fought off bees with his sword, Ravynne tried to snipe the raccoons without hitting Sylvara, and Sylvara… well, she wrestled the raccoon leader for the chalice, giggling like a maniac the entire time.

"I've got it!" Sylvara finally yelled, holding the chalice aloft.

The raccoons squeaked in defeat and scurried away, while the bees, apparently satisfied, returned to their hive.

The Aftermath

The group sat by the river, covered in honey and exhausted. Sylvara proudly examined the chalice, which now glowed faintly in her hands.

"This is it," she said with a grin. "The Honeyed Chalice! We're one step closer to completing the Recipe of Eternity."

Kazuya wiped honey off his face. "Great. Can we take a bath now?"

Ravynne snorted. "Good luck finding water that isn't sticky around here."

As they laughed and bickered, a new clue appeared on the Recipe of Eternity:

"The final trial lies within the Labyrinth of Laughter. Only those with true joy in their hearts may succeed."

Sylvara's eyes sparkled. "A labyrinth? That sounds like so much fun!"

Kazuya groaned. "Fun for you, maybe. For me, it sounds like another headache."

Ravynne smirked. "At least it won't be sticky."

Kazuya glanced down at his honey-covered clothes and sighed. "Small victories."
