Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: A Battle of Shadows and Will

The Demon King's laughter echoed through the domain, his voice dripping with malicious glee. "You've proven yourself worthy of my attention, Kael. But before I grace you with my full power, let me see how you fare against one of my most loyal creations."

Kael stood unwavering, his golden aura shimmering around him like a protective shield. "Another servant to hide behind? Getting predictable, Demon King."

The Demon King smirked and raised his hand, summoning a swirling vortex of black energy. From its depths emerged a figure cloaked in darkness, his muscular frame imposing, and his face hidden beneath a hood. The air around him crackled with ominous energy, and his every movement exuded confidence and power.

"Meet Copy Cat," the Demon King announced. "A warrior who can adapt and replicate any power or skill. Let's see how long you can hold out against him."

Kael tilted his head, a smirk playing on his lips. "Copy Cat, huh? Let's see if he lives up to the name."

---

The Battle Begins

Copy Cat dashed forward, his movements swift and calculated. His fists glowed with dark energy as he closed the gap between them. Kael raised his sword, ready to strike, but just as the blade swung, Copy Cat leaped back, his hooded head tilting in confusion.

Kael chuckled, lowering his sword. "What's wrong? Can't copy me?"

Copy Cat's fists clenched, his voice low and gravelly. "Your essence... it's impossible to replicate."

Kael's smirk widened. "Exactly. You think you can copy my powers, my existence? You're out of your league."

The Demon King's grin remained, unshaken. "Adapt, then. Show him the true meaning of evolution."

Copy Cat's aura shifted, his body pulsing with an intense energy. "If I can't copy you, I'll adapt to defeat you!"

Kael's Declaration

Kael stabbed his sword into the ground, the impact creating a massive crater that sent shockwaves through the battlefield. He straightened, cracking his knuckles and rolling his neck. "Alright, no fancy tricks. No swords, no spells. Let's see how you fare against my fists."

The ground beneath his feet cracked as Kael launched forward with blinding speed, his fist colliding with Copy Cat's chest. The force sent Copy Cat hurtling backward, skidding across the ground before coming to a halt.

---

The Humiliation

Copy Cat growled, shaking off the impact. He charged again, his movements more aggressive this time. But Kael was ready. With a swift sidestep, Kael dodged the incoming punch and countered with a powerful uppercut that sent Copy Cat flying into the air.

Before Copy Cat could recover, Kael leaped after him, delivering a rapid series of punches that echoed like thunderclaps. Each blow landed with precision, cracking the air and leaving Copy Cat reeling.

"Come on!" Kael shouted, his voice filled with fiery determination. "Is this all you've got? You're supposed to be a challenge!"

Copy Cat attempted to land a punch, but Kael effortlessly dodged, his movements fluid and precise. He grabbed Copy Cat's arm and threw him into the ground, creating another massive crater.

"You're nothing but a punching bag!" Kael taunted, landing beside his opponent.

---

The Relentless Assault

Kael didn't let up. He dashed forward, his fists a blur as he unleashed a relentless barrage of punches. Copy Cat tried to block, but Kael's attacks were too fast, too powerful. Each punch drove him deeper into the ground, his dark cloak tattered and his muscular frame battered.

Blood dripped from Copy Cat's mouth as he struggled to stand. Kael grabbed him by the collar, lifting him effortlessly. "You wanted to adapt? Then adapt to this!"

With a powerful spin, Kael hurled Copy Cat across the battlefield. The servant crashed into a jagged rock formation, the impact shattering the stones and sending debris flying.

Copy Cat's Struggle

Despite his injuries, Copy Cat pushed himself to his feet, his body trembling. "I... won't lose..." he muttered, his aura flickering like a dying flame.

Kael raised an eyebrow, a hint of respect flashing in his eyes. "Still standing? I'll give you that. But it's not enough."

He raised his fist, golden energy swirling around it. "This is your last chance. Give up, or I'll end this right now."

Copy Cat looked at the Demon King, who watched the battle with an amused expression. "You're disposable," the Demon King said coldly. "Fight until you break."

Kael's eyes hardened. "Guess that's your answer." He charged forward, his fist glowing brighter than ever.

---

The Unstoppable Force

The battlefield shook as Kael delivered the final blow, his fist colliding with Copy Cat's chest. The impact sent a shockwave through the domain, splitting the ground and scattering debris in all directions. Copy Cat's body went limp, collapsing into the dirt as his aura faded.

Kael stood over him, his golden aura burning fiercely. He turned to the Demon King, his voice steady and unwavering. "Is that the best you've got? If so, this fight is going to be easier than I thought."

The Demon King's grin didn't falter. "Oh, Kael. That was merely a warm-up. The real battle begins now."

The fight was far from over, and Kael knew he had to be ready for whatever the Demon King had in store.
