The group stares at the monster looming before them—a true horror compared to the beautiful woman they had fought earlier. The hideous bat-like creature towers over them. Without hesitation, the monster dashes toward Luna, grabbing her and slamming her through a nearby wall. Luna screams in pain. Laura then attempts to slam Luna onto the floor but is quickly stopped as Sunny fires a round into her chest, followed by two more shots to her legs.
Laura drops Luna, yelping in pain. "You son of a—!" she shouts. Sunny smirks, firing three more rounds, but Laura dodges out of the way. Sunny clicks her tongue in frustration, the sound of the revolver's cylinder spinning echoing throughout the room as it reloads in seconds.
Laura begins chanting hideous, grotesque words that seem to offend the very air, creating two black spheres in her hands. She hurls them at Sunny. The spheres explode near her but start pulling Sunny in two opposite directions, threatening to tear her apart.
Sunny twirls her finger, and her blade floats out of its sheath, engulfed in flames. She points her finger at the left sphere, piercing it and consuming it in fire. The intense flames cause both spheres to dissipate.
Jamal nods at the sight and snaps his fingers, setting Laura's legs ablaze. Ignoring the pain, Laura looks upward and attempts to fly away. Eddy reacts by throwing two daggers at her, then gestures as if hugging himself, causing the daggers to change trajectory and rip into Laura from opposite sides.
She screams and forms a black laser in her hands, firing it at Eddy. Before it can make contact, Luna flings her fist, pulling Eddy out of harm's way. Luna begins charging a light-based attack, while Jamal snaps his fingers again, summoning his electric guitar and amplifiers. Seeing this, Laura fires a laser beam toward Jamal's vicinity, the gravitational force of the attack yanking his instruments away. She then hurls a black sphere at Jamal, but Sunny intervenes, pulling him to safety.
Sunny charges at the monster, blade in hand, and slashes Laura across the chest, leaving a massive wound. Leaping back, Sunny assumes a new stance, her blade resting in her right hand with her arm outstretched.
Luna fires her attack at Laura's legs, causing her to lose balance. As Laura stumbles, Jamal retrieves his guitar, hooks it up to his amp, and starts playing an energetic song. The music empowers Eddy, who dashes forward and slashes the monster's knees, leaving deep gashes.
Sunny appears behind the monster, mouthing, "Flowing Water," as she completely severs Laura's right arm. Before Laura can react, Sunny points her blade at the stump. "White Lotus Flames!" she commands. A white flame, shaped like a lotus flower, ignites on the stump, preventing Laura from regenerating her arm. Laura thrashes and pounds the ground with her remaining arm in frustration.
Sunny flash-steps away as the sound of an electric guitar riff fills the air. Her eyes dart toward Jamal, but before she can act, Laura fires two black laser beams at him. Jamal is launched violently against the wall. Eddy immediately responds, running toward Laura and leaping to slash one of her eyes. Jamal, from the ground, snaps his fingers, setting her wounded eye ablaze.
Luna steps in, flinging her arm upward toward the ceiling above Laura. "Mud Wall!" she shouts, summoning a massive wall that slams down onto Laura, pinning her beneath its weight.
"You monkeys! How dare you do this to me!" Laura roars, her voice causing the building to tremble. The sound of thralls shouting and clawing at the walls echoes through the room as they rush to aid their mistress. Attempting to break into the chamber, they are stopped as Luna throws her hand toward the entrance. "Mud Wall!" she commands again, creating a barrier that seals the thralls off. Their furious scratching and thrashing can be heard on the other side as they try to rip through the wall.
Amid the chaos, six revolver shots ring out as Sunny fires her entire cylinder into Laura's chest. Each bullet wound glows with a bright, vibrant white light. Sunny points her finger at Laura and declares, "White Lotus blooms."
Laura screams in agony as the glow intensifies, flames igniting within her and setting her insides ablaze. She collapses, writhing in pain. Eddy rushes forward, but Laura, with her last effort, lifts her head, charging a final laser beam. Before she can fire, Eddy slashes with both daggers, tearing open her throat. Laura crumples to the floor, falling onto her side.
Sunny calmly walks to her bag, retrieving a wooden stake covered in talismans. She approaches Laura, whose remaining eye widens in terror. "Please, wait! I'll give you anything—power, money, fame—anything!" Laura pleads desperately.
Sunny glares down at her, unfazed. "Yeah? Tell it to me in your next life," she replies coldly. Without hesitation, Sunny slams the stake into Laura's heart.
Laura's eye rolls back as her body goes limp, the flames consuming her from within.
Sunny sits down with a sigh. "Don't worry, she's not waking up anytime soon. Those thralls out there? They've lost all connection to her. But next time we fight a vampire, we're planning it closer to dawn. I don't have too many of those stakes left—six originally, now down to five."
Luna raises an eyebrow. "Can't you just pull it out?" she asks, but then winces, holding her chest as she remembers the hard hit she took earlier.
Sunny shakes her head. "Once it's been used, that's it. And before you ask, the stake is made of real black wood. I can't recreate the talismans. I have no idea what's written on them or what kind of paper was used."
Jamal sits down, inspecting his instruments for damage. His face falls as he lets out a small sob. "Damn it, they're scratched up!" he groans, holding his guitar tightly. "Don't worry, baby, I'll fix you right up!"
Eddy walks over to Sunny. "Alright, contact Sanctum so they can come and evac the thralls."
Sunny groans as she pulls out her phone, dialing Sanctum. After a long conversation, she finally hangs up. The guards stationed at the hospital, along with two medic squads, stayed behind to assist. About thirty minutes later, they arrive on the scene.
The guards converse with Sunny and Eddy as they assess the situation. Meanwhile, they begin tying up Laura's body, likely preparing to transport it for research.
As the group exits the building and makes their way back to the RV, they glance up at the sky. It's still the dead of night, the moon shining brightly overhead. Once inside the RV, everyone settles in, ready to head home.
As they drive, they drop Eddy off at his store. "Well, it was nice hunting with y'all, but I need to meet back up with my group," he says with a smile, clearly eager to reunite with his friends.
After saying their goodbyes, the group decides to stick around for a day or two since Jamal has some business with Tammy in the area.
The days pass uneventfully, with nothing particularly noteworthy happening. Once Jamal wraps up his business, they load up the RV and head back to Aspens to collect their reward from the hunt!
